This hotel is well situated for visiting Rome and is also near the metro for further travel. The hotel rooms are aged but they are tidy and the restaurant is nice for an evening meal. Breakfast was a nice cold buffet. The staff were pleasant and helpful. This hotel is great value compared to the normal price for an hotel in Rome.
First of all it is not a 4 stars hotel...not even a 2 stars hotel, the cleaning so and so,in the bathroom there is mold, morning coffee is instant, being in Italy is an offence not to drink natural coffee especially in a 4 star hotel. The hotel is very noisy, our room had a faulty entrance door and the blinds too. We did not have electricity for 12 hours, no A/C in Rome in July, 35 degrees C, and so on and so forth...the cherry on the cake is the fact we are missing some souvenirs we let over the day on the night stand. If you are still not convinced....by all means book a room...
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for four nights booked through jet2.com. We had read the reviews and were somewhat unsure about the stay. The hotel is within walking distance from the Metro, St Peters and the Vatican, therefore a very good base for sightseeing. We even walked back from the Pantheon! Evening meals are 20 euros including water and wine. Breakfast is continental but more than adequet .There is no tea making facilities and the flat screen TV had no English channels but of course we weren't there to spend time in the room. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. The hotel has friendly reception staff and overall the room was clean and tidy. If your looking for fault you will find it but for a moderately priced hotel in Rome this is fine.
The hotel was clean and well presented. Very basic, there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The shower needed replacing as there were multiple cracks but it worked fine. The biggest issue we had was that a group of schoolchildren booked in to the hotel for 3 out of 4 the nights we were there and they were noisy the entire time. They were singing, yelling and banging doors into the early hours which wasn't good. Even though we complained every night it still continued. The teachers eventually managed to control them each night but it was still not good enough, especially when it was still going on at 1am when breakfast was served from 7am. The breakfast itself was ok. There wasn't much choice, especially for hot food, but it had the basic tea, coffee, cereals and toast. The staff were really pleasant, it's just such a shame they didn't handle our complaints about the noise.
having read some of the reviews we were a bit dubious about our stay but we were quite pleasantly surprised. True the interior of the hotel is looking tired and dated but all really clean, staff are lovely and friendly, our room was basic but again nice and clean at the end of the day the room was only for sleeping in which we managed after our busy days. Breakfast was lovely sat outside on the terrace, usual breakfast served as you would expect, plentiful and fresh. Location wasn't a problem as we like to stay outside of the more busy areas but an easy 10/15mins walk to the Vatican. plenty lovely places to eat didn't get a bad meal at all, just turn right out of the hotel to the top of the street and turn right again and we found a little local eating place for that later drink and snack. All in all we had a lovely stay would definitely book back at the hotel as we had no problems at all they even kindly let us leave our case at reception as our flight was only in the evening.
Whew, what an experience! We arrived to this hotel by night. At lobby we were met by phlegmatic clerk who signed us in. Interior of this hotel was dated back to era before Roman empire. Whole floor carpeting were dirty and dated (even couple centuries ago). At our hotel room half of our electric outlets didn't work. Also some of them were strangely located at the end of you bed where you can hit attached devices with your head when in bed. I've seen many kinds of showers but this was the very first time I needed instructions to use it. It didn't seem to work. We were already going to complain about our room when they send a man to check our room. He was taking notes on what was wrong with this one (speaking and writing Italian). Non of these problems were fixed during our four nights stay so this guy taking notes was just an act. There was water leaking under the toilet which made the whole bathroom floor wet and it needed constant wiping with towels. We managed to get the shower to work but only every third time there was any hot water available. Laying on the bed made us feel like sleeping just on bed springs covered with a plain sheet. I was going to get another pillow from the closet but under it's pillowcase there was some dark red smudge like somebody would have just died on it. My friends complained that sleeping on these beds made them itchy. The hotel itself was in good location. City central was easily accessible through bus and subway connections. Included breakfast was ok and the room cleaning did as good job as possible in this place. However the best thing with this hotel was checking out of it. By the way, just remember that you have to pay city taxes when checking out which was 6 € per person for every night you stay on this place (would have been nice if noted when checking in). Stay away this hotel if possible. Be smarter than me and instead of reading hotel's own description read some reviews before signing in. This hotel had nothing to do with quality as the name states.
We travelled in Rome by the end of April and beginning of May with a touristic group. The main advantage of this hotel is the location which is not far from Vatican. Also, there are a big market and a useful supermarket nearby. The breakfast was sufficient even if it was quite the same every day. The rooms were cleaned every day and the reception personnel was friendly. The main problem was the warm water, only 2 days from 4 days during our stay there. However, other rooms had not this problem. Worse, the walls between the rooms are very thin so you can hear everything from the next rooms. Tips: check the room before moving in it as the rooms are different for the same price.
We booked this room for three nights. The first night was fine, room a bit shabby but liveable. The next day we returned to our room after a day sight-seeing to find that part of the ceiling had fallen in and there was water leaking. We went down to reception and told them, a man followed us up to our room and told us they couldn't fix it that night but would in the morning. They stuck the rubbish bin under the drip and swept up the plaster board. The next day we went out and when we returned to our room the ceiling appeared to be fixed. We went to bed then at 5am(!!!)there was an almighty crash. Appears there version of "fixing it" was to stick a bucket in the ceiling and put plasterboard underneath, so the bucket filled with water and crashed through. Then as I tried to walk underneath it (cause it was right by the door) more ceiling fell landing on my head. We go to reception to check out and tell them this. No apology, they just demanded we pay the city tax (we'd already pre-paid the room). We then got out of there as fast as we could. BUT the story doesn't end there. Our friend was staying in the same hotel just two rooms down at the same time. She then messaged us to say, her ceiling had also collapsed! You can't make this up. No wonder they didn't seem surprised.
WE stayed for four nights at this hotel from 11 till 15 may 2017. The place is not to be recommended, the rooms are shabby, very noisy (they say they are sound proof), there was no aircon, ventilator on request after making a fuss, shutters where not working although repaired after asking..i would give this hotel a maximum of 2 stars. I travel for business and leisure at least 2 to 3 times a month around Europe and must say that this was the worst.. The only good thing is its location.
Older European hotel with small elevator. Surprising breakfast buffet with a wide selection of food and beverages. Very courteous staff at the desk and throughout the hotel. Grocery just around the corner and a few bakery/shops as well with great tomato pie and pizza for breakfast along with sweets.
