This hotel had a friendly knowledgeable staff. Nice outdoor area and patio. Outstanding breakfast! No air conditioning, out of date plumbing very hard bedding and you have to take the train abt 15 mins to be near anything which can be confusing and sometimes unreliable. cab ride is $25 to get to center. Not many places to shop and the places to eat dont open till about 7pm. Cb ride from the airport was $60

Charming hotel. Staff very attentive. Very pleased. Would stay there again.

Arriving in Rome and taking a taxi from the train station through Roman traffic was a bit overwhelming, but when we arrived at San Lorenzo, we felt at home. There we were offered our first cups of Italian cappuccino and enjoyed them relaxing outside while our room was readied. (We were early.) Loved the help and recommendations of the staff. We would love to return.

A perfect hotel. The staff is wonderful, the free breakfast is unbeatable. Free wifi. The room itself is very romantic, not a typical 'cookie cutter' hotel room. a decent walk from the train station, but very easy. you could also take a cheap cab. I WILL stay at this hotel my next visit.

Lovely hotel, with a cozy ambiance and very pleasant staff. The concierge was extremely helpful and made us feel at home. The rooms are very small and if you try to fit more than 2 it can get a bit cramped. Amazing value, definitely got bang for our buck, and would totally recommend this hotel to anyone!

I stayed here for 3 days, once i got there, i was worried about the graffiti on the walls of almost every building, it scared me. Then i learned that this was a college town. I did not feel threatened, we got used to the graffiti. It is kind of far from the touristic areas, the hotel staff did everything to accommodate us. The hotel is OK, the breakfast is typical, basic, does the job. There are trams and buses, but they are unreliable. Be prepared to pay for taxi. Usually about 13 euros per trip. You get what you pay for. I would stay here again, if i am on the budget, but i would stay near the touristic zone, if i can afford it. There are lots of restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and the appearance of the entry, lobby & courtyard was beautiful. However, the floor in our room was dirty, and an odd arrangement. But the rest of it was clean. Was not happy with the location, did not look secure, however, the gates were locked at night. The staff were great and bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable.

The place is very nice and clean, the staff is always going out of their way to help, the breakfast very good and abundant, and the location very convenient. Definitely a winner!

Possibly the best cappuccinos we've had for breakfast while in Rome. The breakfast spread is great and the staff is very knowledgeable about the area. It feels like a lower east manhattan type of area in Rome. The location may not put you at ease but you'll find some amazing value in the hotel and food options in the area.

Room was small, but very nice. The staff is the best!

This is a small hotel about 1 mile from Termini Station. We stayed one night after a cruise before flying home. It is not convenient to Metro stops, but was a clean comfortable room to spend one night. It has fast WiFi and air conditioning in late October. The desk staff were so thorough in answering our questions inhow to take the bus or Metro and where to buy tickets on a Sunday. They highlighd maps for us and recommended a restaurhant with pizza for lunch and showed us how to get there. Breakfast included hot entrees as well as cereal, fruit, rolls cellent. They arranged for a taxi to the airport, $50 for up to 4 people and took us to

The hotel -- a former residence-- was nice, but the walls are thin and the location is not for everyone. The benefit of the location is that the hotel is situated right on a tram line and less than mile walk to metro line A (or you can take the tram to the metro). It's also a short tram or cab ride from Termini, which has express train service to the main airport for $14 euro. So transportation wise, it's a decent location, but it is also off the beaten path and therefore some people, particularly non-city dwellers, may not feel comfortable in the neighborhood. It may appear a tad sketchy at night, with all the graffiti (see Google Street View), lower lighting and limited foot traffic (as compared to the city center), BUT I FOUND IT TO BE QUITE SAFE. It's basically situated in a mostly residential neighborhood, and is NOT a tourist-centered neighborhood, but there are some other hotels in the vicinity. Breakfast is complimentary, but there is no room service for lunch or dinner. One more thing... if you reserve a room, I would contact the hotel directly and get assurances that you are not placed in the room that sits OUTSIDE the hotel (I believe it's room 107). It's small, dank and the outside noises are loud. I believe it's the former gardeners shed/quarters or something.... not cool IMO. We were placed in this room our first night and my wife still has not forgiven me. :(

Room was small. Could not handle two suitcases easily. M0ve around space was very tight. Shower stall was very very small. Aircondtioner was not effective Breakfast was fine Hotel staff was very pleasant and efficient especially Antonio. Overall we would not recommend this hotel to friends.

We were treated like royalty at this small quaint hotel the minute we entered their doors. I don't know how to describe completely how very well treated we were just getting off our flight to Rome. Near the Rome Train Station, but extremely quiet, attractive & an oasis in the center of town. Their recommendations were spot on and were given a little extra. The room & bath were a little small, but not for Rome. I have been to Rome 3 times and have been treated pretty well on the whole, but this was definitely a cut or two above!

Our first trip to Rome and this hotel made our visit perfect. Antonio and his staff are the best. He provides personal / high quality service. Location of hotel is great; close to bus line, neighborhood market and even laundry service. Easy to walk from hotel to anywhere you want. We will definitely return to this hotel. oh yes, breakfast is fantastic. Paul and Barbara

So glad we found this hotel while planning our trip. Great hotel. Hotel Manager Antonio provided the best service. So helpful. Will definitely stay at this hotel again next time in Rome.

The best thing about this hotel was the hospitality. Antonio and his staff made us feel welcome and were all about service. The breakfast was unlimited and varied and was the best we had during our trip in Italy. When we needed help, Antonio and staff were available to step in and help. They let us print from their computer, scheduled taxis, helped schedule tours and recommended restaurants. Grocery store right by the hotel. Tram stop very close. Subway a little far, but we could connect by tram. Would have liked fridge in room.

Easy to get to (about $10 by taxi or $1.50 with metro and tram #3 from train station Termini). Lots of good food choices in the adjacent neighbourhood Tiburon. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. On arrival one of them sat down with us and explained how to get around (easy) and how to string different activities together. Every morning came with a new update and excellent breakfast.

Personnel second to none. So helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping. Area not so brilliant but one or two reasonable very italian eating places nearby. Good tram communication. Problem that over busy and public transport too crowded as were the streets. Traffic horrendous. Not much in the area but with it's own charm. A little run down but very safe and not too touristy. Would recommend the Villa San Lorenzo to anyone. Lovely Italian feel about it.

We were three young women on a trip to Rome for 4 nights. We requested a triple room that turned out to be really small. We think they put a twin bed in a room made for a double bed to accommodate us. They must have had all the triples we saw on the website booked up. It was a tight squeeze due to the extra twin, but we managed. Otherwise, the room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The hotel is gorgeous, but located in an area with a lot of graffiti on the adjacent streets. Also, right next to the tram stop which was very convenient. The staff were fantastic, and so was the breakfast. I would recommend it to someone on a tighter budget, but you may be able to find something a bit better on the Internet.
