Have not stayed at the Splendide Royal but eaten at the Mirabelle located at the top of the Hotel itself but must say that the interior design and décor was outstanding and if I were to visit Rome again away from the main centre I would definitely be staying at the Splendide Royal.
A beautiful property next to the Villa Borghese Park that our room overlooked. Our room was exquisite with lots of old world charm, space and service. We also had a large bathroom that was beautifully outfitted. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. We made a reservation at their rooftop restaurant, overlooking all of Rome, a 5 star food experience with prices to match. If you don't want to spring for dinner, go for a cocktail as the view will captivate you. With your drink, you will automatically be served complimentary appetizers. Truly a memorable experience!
So welcoming ! Upgraded to gorgeous suite on the fifth floor with terraces outside the bedroom and living area, just unfortunate that the weather was not great. Lovely bed linen, comfy bed and superb furnishings.Great view over Borghese . Excellent breakfast with stunning view over Rome . Gluten free no problem. Ask concierge for some secret Roman spots and they come up trumps every time .
The hotel looks amazing with baroque architecture and design. The room was big, very very nice and we liked that the toilet was separated with a door by the rest of the bath. The personal very very polite and friendly (congratulations hotel management), which somehow makes other inconveniences to blur. The breakfast very good as quality but the same every day. Very nice view from the breakfast room at 6th floor. The location is good- walking distance from Spanish Steps and all the shopping area and also from the park/Villa Borghese. Some minuses- The room was facing north and it was humid (the building is very old) and they didn't have any kind of electric heater to make the temperature more comfortable. The ventilation was making only cold(AC) and outside the max temperature was 15-17 Celsius. The mattress should have been more soft for such a hotel category. Pillows too small and too soft. Definitely here has to be done something (I saw other similar comments, so its not only my taste). In the toilet space it was a terrible pipe smell (room 105). Happily we could close the door between the toilet and the rest of the bath. If you want to stay at this hotel either you take the superior category room and stay at the high level having some sunlight in the room, or you just dont, cause its not worth to pay that amount for the room and not having the full comfort. Would I stay again here? Yes for sure, but choosing another room.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel but I would not say that it was my favorite Rome hotel. The service was fabulous-the staff was very helpful. The rooms need a bit of a rehab as they seem tired. My bathroom was quite small and my stall shower was very tiny however my associate had no stall shower so I felt lucky. The view from the restaurant is spectacular overlooking much of the city. Breakfast was quite good-a buffet that had everything that you could ever want or need. Very expensive.
This is an amazing property with the most kind, professional and obliging staff. A bucket list stay!! The decor is amazing. Our room was very clean, warm, comfortable and inviting. Breakfast and dinner in Mirabelle was beyond delicious, and the views..........my goodness ~ breathtaking!!
Hotel is in a great location with terrific service and people. Just blocks from the Spanish steps and close to Villa Borghese...two blocks from Via Veneto. Hotel is showing signs of wear and tear, needs updated air conditioning system and new carpeting
We have stayed many times at the Splendide. A boutique hotel with first class service. Highly recommend this property. The location, the property, the staff are all EXCELLENT. A must stay for anyone in Rome.
Very nice hotel. Good location. Service very good. Rooms nice.Breakfast very good. Mirabelle restaurant excellent with great view, but very expensive. Front desk staff very pleasant and helpfulWould recommend highly.
Great property, most excellent staff at the Splendide Royal. This is an older, (like much of Rome) and is a high quality property with a lot of history and character. A great place to stay if your looking for a high end, but cozy place to stay while at the Vatican.
