Great! Very helpful stuff with tours etc. would go back

We planned to stay 1 night but after the first night, added another 3 days. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast was good with many food choices, room is comfortable and beautifully decorated. Love that the bathrooms were updated and very clean. Our room was non-smoking as we requested, however, the hotel is not and we were able to smell the smoke coming from other areas. There is a minibar and heated pot for coffee or tea which was nice after a full day of sight seeing.

teh hotel was modern adn the room (especially the beds) were comfortable. A few issues though the hotel had not turned the building over to ac so you could not cool the room which got very hot. You could open the window but had to deal with noise. I would expect to have AC available at a four star hotel. bar and amenaties were small and limited.

We needed a hotel near to the Vatican at a reasonable price. Hotel Dei Mellini far exceeded our expectations. We easily walked to Vatican and then across the Tiber to shopping, dining and major sights. Bus connections and the Metro were convenient too. The hotel could arrange for taxis with only a 5 minute warning. The clerks at the desk were always available for help and suggestions for the best local restaurants. (Some we went to twice they were so exceptional.) The hotel breakfasts were delicious with diverse selections and the friendly staff looked after us with espressos. The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. We used the lobby for free WiFi. It had lots of cozy nooks for privacy. We had a delightful week in Rome and this hotel was a great part of our enjoyment.

good Service, Warm welcome when we arrived everything was good. The room was comfortable. The food was delecious.. We are coming back as soon as we can

The hotel was very nice. The staff did a great job and we had no problem communicating with them even though we only speak English. The bed and pillows were probably the best of any hotel I have stayed at. The complimentary breakfast buffet was nice but a bit different than what we were used to in the states. Overall, a very nice stay.

Beautiful hotel close to everything!! We stayed here after extending our time in Rome and couldn't stay at our original hotel. Too bad we hadn't chosen this hotel first. From the courteous and helpful front desk staff, to Luigi the bellman, to the very good breakfast, to the beautiful rooms, we couldn't have asked for anything more. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!

Staff at front desk were extremely helpful and patient in answering all of our questions. Great suggestions for every aspect of our stay. Location enabled us to walk just about everywhere. We will recommend the Mellini to anyone seeking a beautiful spot from which to explore the city. Breakfast. Was also great. Thanks.

Our stay was pleasant and the staff very helpful at dei Mellini. They put out a good breakfast every morning, rooms refreshed every day. The location is good especially if your focus is the Vatican. Although it is not close to the metro it is only a ten minute walk over it. The negatives are the bathroom showers are a poor design. Hand held devises for shower heads and water pressure is low. We were suppose to have A triple with three beds. It was a double room with a cot. To small for three people, would have been fine for two.

We had been to Rome a year ago but wanted to try a different hotel this trip. We found Dei Mellini Hotel and It was situated between the Vatican and Piazza del Popolo exactly where we wanted to be. The room was great and the service was incredible!! They took great care of us and made our 2nd trip to Rome very special!

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly & helpful and the free breakfasts were way above average. The room was large & well maintained. We would stay here again for sure!!!

We spent two nights at the hotel which we picked for it's proximity to the Vatican. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was free and was quite good including eggs, bacon, cold cuts and a variety of cereals, breads and fruit. The hotel did not include internet access even though the room price would easily have covered the cost of providing it. Rome is quite confusing with lots of turns and crooked streets. Getting anywhere takes some energy. There is no restaraunt in the hotel so you need to plan your meals somewhere else. The desk clerk recomended a "nice" restaraunt that was not 'too' expensive. It was nice, but was actually pretty pricy. Buyer beware of recommendations. The lighting in the room was quite dim and uncomforatable for reading. This might just be an European issue, but I find it disturbing. All things considered, the room was acceptable as a clean room in a safe neighborhod was a prime requirement. NOTE TO ORBITZ. This data entry box is terrible to work with.

in the prior ten days, as we traveled with a group tour from London to Paris, with stops also in Heildelberg and Lucerne, we had much to compare to. My wife and I agreed Del Mellini was our favorite, though we had stayed at a Hilton, the Monopol in Lucerne and the Crown Plaza Republique in Paris. The DM staff was professional, helpful and friendly and the breakfst was excellent. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace for wine in the evening, Room was very clean and comfortable. The #87 bus stopped close by, or you could walk to famous sites along the Tiber, which is very close. I would recommend it to my friends, which is my highest recommendation.

Hotel was in an excellent location, great breakfast, the room was comfortable and our bed was turned down every night. The only black mark was that the staff gave us false information on the last day regarding transportation to the airport.

This was a good hotel centrally located and great value for the money since it was within walking distance to the Vatican and an easy bus trip to the Colliseum and other Rome attractions. Some good reatuarants within walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff and a great free breakfast. The room was clean, the bathroom was fine, my only fault was the A/C was not very effective and the temperature in August was upper 90's. Overall a great value for the money.

Hotel dei Mellini was a perfect choice for our first trip to Rome. The hotel staff was very accommodating at every turn. They even sent up a bottle of champagne for my birthday! Highly recommended!

Meetting and pleasure Internet included in the price Same

We ended our 2 week florence - venice - rome trip here and the best was saved for last. The rooms are clean and the staff very helpful. The only downer was the drinks at the hotel bar were way way over priced at 12.00 a drink and no happy hour.

Overall the room was fine, quite happy with the size for EU. The carpet was sticky and this was an issue with my wife. When the wife is not happy no one is happy! Good location, front desk was very helpful, snotty bellboy!!!!

[...]suggestion : the shower in the bathroom is of the 'fixed' type. a movable shower head attached to a flexible hose would be much better.
