Hotel Roma Aurelia Antica4.0 out of 5.0

It was my first time in Rome. I stayed at this hotel for a conference. Rooms are spacious and conference areas were just perfect and well equipped. Flavia (the Resident Manager, if I remember well) was very professional and helpful with any of our requests. Hotel is not far from Fiumicino airport. Overall a great experience!
The cooking is very terrible. Rooms need refurbishment. The carpet is full of stains. Windows are dirty. Too far from the centre. I asked to be awakened eartly in the morning twice but only the first time they did it. At late night no one is at the reception. Only a lazy employee in the office nearby. A bad experience.
It is cheap. But that´s it! The staff are ignorant and more intrested in talking to each other than helping the guests. We ended up here because of the pool - a pool is always nice after a days strolling in a city. Wherever we came they saluted us by saying - not welcome - but: "There is an extra charge if you want to" - USE THE POOL (they said it at least 10 times during our stay even though it WAS included .But each time we still had to wait for them to get a confirmation from the reception on that) - USE THE WI FI - USE THE SHUTTLE BUS INTO ROME - BREAKFAST (but that is normal on some hotels) And even if you buy your bus ticket for the bus there is no guarantee the bus insn´t full. You might have to wait for an hour (or two) til the next departure. Someone decribed the staff as if they regarded us - the guests - as ATM:s and that´s a pretty fitting description. Hospitality and service are something they´ve never heard of. All except one person. A very friendly and helpful soul by the name Kemo.(dressed in a black t-shirt- not a uniform like the rest of them) He helped us change room after checking in when it turned out that nothing worked in our room at all. The rest of the staff looked at him as though he came from a different planet beeing so full of friendliness, sincere interest and hospitality. If they all behaved like him - my ratings would have been top class. So thank you Kemo! Even though the rates are affordable - the costs of staying here will be about the same as in the city. Since the taxi fares are around 20 - 25 E/trip (the shuttle bus isn´t very frequent or full) there is an extra charge on everything - or at least they will try to charge you. The room was nice and clean. The only upside about the location is that it is close to the airport. -
We had just a few hours here before our flight the next morning. My husband booked this through Expedia for really cheap. But they charge you for internet, charge for shuttle, and food looks average and expensive. I can live with some of that because deal he got and our short stay. But the kicker is the 10 euros person to use the pool!! It's a regular hotel pool!! I negotiated it down and lied about my daughters age and paid only 5. The room is clean. We could have stayed somewhere more convenient and with more food options and probably still paid less with all the add on costs. I would keep looking for a different hotel, unless you have to be in this very random location!
The rooms are old but they are clean and large. The hotels location is far away from the city center of Rome, the shuttle bus unfortunately only runs every hour and until about 6pm or 6:30pm. However, you can use the regular bus, which can bring you back to the hotel until at least about 11:15 pm. Unfortunately, I was stolen at this hotel, probably by the cleaning staff. When we came back to the hotel in the evening, two newly bought dresses had vanished from the room. I reported the theft immediately, but i got nothing more than excuses from the hotels staff. So I can only advise everyone to either not book the hotel, or to lock in everything in the hotel safe (Which is impossible for larger things like e.g. clothes.). Internet access in the hotel isn't free. If internet access is needed, it might be cheaper to purchase and use a prepaid sim card. Theft is a no go so i absolutely can't recommend this hotel to anybody.
Everything closed for winter... terrible...no pool.. no gym.. no terrace bar.. no air con. Room like a sauna and wrrrnt able to move us to a room with a window even tho we where the ONLY guests... no where near anything... and tv didnt work!!!
We had a really relaxing time at the pool, the restaurant staff was nice and food delicious. Though the City was about 15-20 minutes away they did provide a shuttle to and from! The suites were nice, we stayed in a two room suite for three nights of our trip and had a great time before heading off to Venice and Tuscany!
We stayed during our transit from Paris to India for two nights. We booked through online reservations because price were good for the kind of property. Hotel is great but little far from city. It's difficult to reach late in night only mode of transport is taxi which charges 50euro per side so low cost was negated by 100Euro we spent extra while coming and going early. Public transport is available though during day time. If you are planning sight seeing lot in Rome I think you might want to pick something else or if you are staying here arrange for transport to and Fro to the city
been there on business trip. stayed for a week , the rooms are clean , freash linnen, specius bedroom. i guess a bit expencive but is worth it really. breakfast is nice , as well dinner that i tryed on their restaurant.
I stayed at the Roma Aurelia Antica Hotel for three nights in the month of November while I participated in a conference hold in the same hotel. The hotel is very far from the centre of Rome and, even if they offer a regular transfer every one and a half hours (payment needed), it is not convenient. Public transport is very limited and not direct to the centre of the city. Common areas are well kept and there is a lot of space but everything looks slight oldish. Rooms are big and they have all amenities. The one I had was still with carpet, which looked reasonably clean but oldish. In general, the room looked slightly old and run down. Nothing really specific, but more the general feeling. Rooms are, however, well serviced and bed sheets are changed every night, something really good. Bathrooms are of decent size but taps are old and run down. Towels are reasonably well kept - but not all. There is no turn-down service. Breakfast is reasonable in terms of quantity of food but not in terms of quality. Jam, for example, is not of good quality. The buffet lunches and dinners we has were quite basic and not to the standards one would expect in Italy. Staff is nice and helpful, however.
