Negatives: work in progress during accomodation, poor breakfast, far from city center, the roman - blindes curtain did not work in one window, a little expensive Positives: friendly staff, clean rooms, well decorated, beautiful garden, helpful and polite reception
The Hotel Príncipe Torlonia is a boutique hotel in an upmarket residential area of Rome, yet a short walking distance away from the Metro, shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. Our visit was made all the more pleasurable by Claudia in reception, who was friendly and professional and assisted us with our requests. Our room was elegant and comfortable with every convenience - bar fridge, toiletries, complimentary tea/coffee station, TV, safe in room, and hair dryer. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and the room and bathroom, and general areas in the hotel very clean.
Wonderful hotel with extra friendly staff. Nice location that is close to downtown but far from all the noises and hustle and bustle of tourists. Easy access to bus stops and Metro station that you can easily access every point in Rome. Rooms were spacious and clean with nice private bathrooms. Great restaurants nearby. Just ask the staff and they would recommend what to do and where to eat.
Be careful, this property is not as good as it looks in the photos. On our day of arrival we got in at around 8pm and was looking forward to taking it easy and ordering some room service - as had been advertised. I couldn't find a menu so I asked reception and the answer was simply NO and advised I could get drinks at the bar and that's it. I was confused because THERE IS SIGNAGE IN THE ROOMS MENTIONING ROOM SERVICE BUT IT DOES NOT EXIST. Whilst staying at the hotel I must acknowledge that having english speaking reception staff was very helpful although most other things about the property were underwhelming and not what I expect from a 4 star property. PS: Booking the in-house recommended tour bus felt really dodgy because evidently you pay them approx 8 euro and then the bus the remaining approx 28 euro. When I got in to the city I couldn't find the bus I'd partially paid for so rather than waste precious holiday time I just found another company and paid them as I hoped on board. Don't bother purchasing their tickets in advance.
This is my second stay here and I absolutely loved it. It's a converted Roman Villa with lots of characters, great facilities and lovely staffs. And the price is simply unbelievable. Absolute gem! Room was a bit too hot, couldn't turn the heater down.
Very enjoyable stay. Small clean hotel with nice and helpful staff. Very comfortable room and beautiful bathroom. Good location and very close to bus stop and about 10 mins walk to piazza Bologna subway.
This boutique hotel is an hidden secret for locals and Rome connoisseurs. Sleep and relax in a Noble Villa surrounded by tree and a well groomed garden. Rooms are spacious and curated in all aspects. I loved stay there during my Rome trips
entering the hall i've fell on the wet floor and I dislocated my elbow and bruised wrist. The hotel have sended me a leter writed by a laywer. They sad: it's your blame ! So be carefull when you enter in the hall... specially when someone moves the carpets... or the carpets have their feet?
Hotel was in a lovely location with a beautiful area in the back under large trees to relax in quiet and comfort. The staff was very helpful except when it came to fixing our stuffed drain in the shower. The included breakfast was fantastic. This might even bring them to 4 stars. Unfortunately the tour, of the Vatican, we asked them to arrange which they suggested was a flop. The tour picked us up at the hotel, nice touch, but dropped us off a few blocks from the Vatican. We were told a tour guide would pick us up in 10 minutes. After 1 hour no one showed. We got another tour locally, but this was a very bad experience. The Hotel basically said sorry nothing more. Also there were no facial tissues in the bathroom. If you like quiet and a good breakfast this is the place.
Located off the via Nomentana in the Bologna area this hotel was a great base.It is well served by public transport and comprises a beautiful former villa which has been tastefully refurbished. It sits in impressive ground in an area with many embassies. The staff were always helpful and cheerful. A good variety of food for breakfast. A nearby restaurant recommended to me by the staff within 5 minutes walk is well worth a visit. It is Cafe Momart...worth checking out. I shall definitely return.
