Hotel Nord Nuova Roma3.0 out of 5.0

The location of the hotel is hectic during the day which I liked but I was told that it can become dangerous at night. Rome's main station, Roma Termini, is also close by but needs a bit of walking to get to. The employees were very nice and helpful. I don't know why but I always felt that the hotel's lighting was a bit dim and it felt kinda depressing to walk around and the same goes to the room. The TV was as small as a laptop screen. My friend tried to plug in the coffee machine adaptor and ended up burning a fuse which caused our room electricity to cut off for a few moments and that is never a good sign.
This was the last night of our Italy vacation and we chose the hotel based upon the location to the train and other reviews. It was mediocre compared to our other hotel experiences in Italy. The negatives were, the first room we checked into had a considerable amount of mold along the ceiling and in the shower. It took me a bit by surprise, so we went to the front desk to change the room. They obliged immediately which was very kind, and moved us to a much better room that was cleaner and fresher in general. The ventilation system is not great, its an old building so this is not surprising. Much happier to see a clean white ceiling in the new room. The other aspect of check in that was not ideal was that they held our passport and told us to come back to get it 10 minutes after check in. They said they had to finish registering everyone and they had a stack of passports. This was a bit unnerving from a security standpoint, I don't generally like leaving my passport at the front desk. We got ours back quickly, but another guest who checked in before us came back for his and they were told it would be longer, so something to be aware of if you check in at a busy time. The service was cordial but not exceptional, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at times or uninterested at others. The breakfast server had no problem snapping at guests for bringing luggage into the dining area. Everyone had to leave luggage outside around the corner-again, not the most secure for storage situations. The positives are that the location was great in relation to the train station. A two minute walk and the area felt safe. I did not see any concerning activity and at night and during the day was very comfortable. It rained while we were there but the roof deck looked lovely-a bonus of this property! Overall, not a bad stay-just not great. Bottom line, this is a good stop over for proximity to the train. Its not super close to other attractions(Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc), but isn't far from the Colosseum and Foro Romano.
Excellent hotel, staff very friendly, great location for hop on hop off bus and train. Fridge in room had complimentary soften drinks and was replenished once a week, ideal if you has ran out, also ideal for storing your own stuff. Roof top garden excellent views.
I'm afraid I cannot agree with previous comments regarding the breakfast. We were there Mon to Friday and felt the selections was very good. Cold meats/cheeses, pasta, salad, cakes/croissants etc. Cereal and fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, 3 or 4 different selections of bread and rolls, toaster, fruit juices, coffee, selection of teas etc... can't think what else you would require actually. Front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. Roof terrace was very pleasant to sit in an evening and the view really good. We were on 5th floor, room very acceptable, shower/bath, towels were changed every day if left on the floor. toiletries - again replenished. Tea & coffee in the room. Fridge. and air conditioned. Location very good, excellent for metro and train. We would recommend this hotel.
Hotel was in a good location and staff were helpful and friendly however i booked it because I liked the fact that breakfast was included. I really struggled to find anything to eat at breakfast time. Only bread they had was tiny and very hard so not enjoyable at all. I only drink cold drink which again very limited. All the pastrys were sweet (donuts filled with chocolate, crossiants covered in sugar, cakes). Extremely limited fruit I think they actually only had apples and I've thrown better looking ones away! We visited Rome for 5 days and our towels were only changed once. We completely ran out of toilet roll before they give us any more! Tea and coffee was not replenished (I don't drink it so was only my partner having it). Bathroom ok but very small. Room old fashioned but again ok for a short period of time. I wouldn't recommend and I won't be staying again. One day we got back to our room to find that they'd turned the electricity off
Very good value for a 3star great breakfast plenty of variety Only one drawback is the rooms are not soundproof can hear next room am in a camera room Reception are very cooperative and friendly location is great
The hotel is in a great location in Rome. It is about a 7-8 minute walk from Rome's Termini Station. We arrived at the hotel around 10:00 am in the morning, and we were pleasantly greeted by the staff. We were advised that check-in wasn't until 2:00 pm, but they they called housekeeping to see if our room would be ready early. Unfortunately it wasn't, but they securely stored our luggage until we returned from exploring Rome's sights. Upon check-in, our luggage was promptly delivered to our room. We had a triple room on the 4th floor. It was very spacious and had, what seemed to be a king-size bed and an additional single bed. The bathroom was very large with a tub, vanity, toilet and bidet. This triple room was very large for a hotel room in Europe. Breakfast was included and it had a variety of sweets, juice, scrambled & hard boiled eggs, breads, cold cuts, cheeses and yogurt. It was very good. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on a return trip to Rome.
The staff at the front office is very friendly and professional. We arrived very early and we were happy to hear that the room was ready, thank you very much. We could also store our luggage during the day after C/O. Rooms are very ok and clean. We could sleep very comfortable. The bar at the roof top is very nice to visit after an exhausting day of visiting the awesome city.
This is a very clean, classical Hotel. Larger rooms with a roof top view. We were on the 5th floor and on the front of the hotel. The staff was for the most part nice and friendly. I was concerned upon check in because they took my passport and told me to come back in 20 minutes. I would not leave sight of my passport so I waited. They are a busy hotel and I felt safe most of the time. Rome is not as clean or secure as Venice or Florence but it is also a larger city. We did do a lot of walking. This hotel is closer to the coliseum than the Vatican. There is a wonderful place to eat right on the corner near the hotel.
Close to the Train Station and many of the places to see are close by. The rooms and hotel was clean, the rooftop garden bar was delightful and the breakfast was delicious. However, the hotel staff at the counter were not in the least bit friendly at all.
