This is a quiet, comfortable, clean hotel. Four stars. The room was comfortable, very clean, the bathroom was lovely with a nice shower. Free wifi in the hotel, price was very reasonable for such a beautiful hotel. Breakfast was very tasty, they offer cappuccino on the house. We also ate dinner at the hotel restaurant, it was *fantastic*. Chef-prepared, fresh, 10% discount for hotel guests, lovely wine. I was so pleased. Not near all the tourism traps, but close enough to be convenient. Walking distance to the vatican, and easy subway ride to the Colloseum, Forum, Jewish Ghetto, etc etc. The service was second-to-none. Every staff member was knowledgeable and helpful. I don't speak Italian, but they spoke perfect English. They helped me arrange a car back to the airport, at a fair price. Highly recommended.
We stayed here for the weekend while attending the U2 concert. I couldn't find a hotel closer to the stadium but wanted to be able to walk home after the concert in case there were issues with taxis and/or public transportation. This is a very charming little hotel in a nice quiet area, with modern, clean rooms, a very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. We also ate dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and the food was very good and not too expensive.
I made an early reservation here as I had a concert to attend and a dinner reserved at La Pergola. I was looking for a hotel for a romantic couple of days so I decided to change from my usual hotels and book a suite at the Metropolis. The suite is spacious and clean, is not noisy and the bed's comfortable. The hotel is very central and a good place to stay for most tourists. The furniture looks outdated and a little bit worn out, but other than that it should be ok with everyone's taste. We had the following issues: 1) The jacuzzi was not clean. It spewed out foreign material, the reception sent a technician in the afternoon and next morning. The problem was never fixed for the duration of 3 days. 2) The main shower head was clogged and hardly any water was coming out, luckily the secondary shower head worked fine so we could wash ourselves. 3) The shower drain was clogged. After complaining to the reception the second morning we received a mignon bottle of prosecco and some juice. Not apology letter was attached so I can only assume it was because of the mishaps. Considering the cost of around Euro 200 per night, I am dissapointed with this hotel as I was expecting a lot more. They have however promised me (verbally) a significant discount on the next stay for what it's worth. I wouldn't really recommend this place as it didn't really strike me positively at all, but to me it's just an average hotel so it could be worth checking out.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights when Hotel 21 advised me on my arrival that despite I had paid for a room they did nod one! So they send me to this nearby hotel which is managed by the same people I think. It was terrible experience. The lady in the reception could not understand my card identity and kept asking for an expiry date which does not exist. The room was small and had a window in the roof which I could not close fully and at almost 6:00 in the morning I had to wake up due to the light coming in. Torture! Multiple problems with my card in the door and the aircon is not user friendly. Very poor room and very poor service. I asked for a pair of slippers and they told me I did not have the right room rate. After I start shouting they send me one. Absolutely unacceptable behavior and treatment.
We stayed here during our visit to Rome! The hotel is in a very central location which made traveling to our various tourist sites: walking distance from the Vatican, river and City centre a stress free experience!! Staff were extremely friendly and always provided great service. Rooms were clean and very well maintained! I loved it and made it hard to leave!! Will definitely stay again! :) Thank you team Metropolis!
Very silent rooms, very well located, 100 m from Lepanto Metro station, which takes you to Termini railway station in 10 minutes and the city center in less time. Prati neighbourhood is very nice, with many trees, restaurants and bistros. And it's near from Vatican.
I strongly recommend this hotel due to its central location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, good food. Clean well-maintained rooms, really nice surroundings. Next to Vatican, Piazza del Popolo and other great places. Will definitely stay again!
Great location walking distance from Vatican, walking distance from the river, walking distance from the city center. Great staff Clean rooms and quite area Near restaurant Close to shopping Close to Metro and bus stop I really enjoyed
Would love to have given the hotel an "excellent" but just short because of the noise sadly and although we emailed ahead and had asked for a quiet room because we had read the reviews, it wasn't replied to. Tbh some of the negative reviews were accurate regarding noise and the heating system but didn't do this hotel justice in a lot of cases on how good the staff were and what a lovely hotel it is. It is a beautiful hotel slightly away from the main attractions (5 mins to a metro stop and 15 mins walk to the Vatican) which was perfect for us. On arrival the staff were very friendly and efficient and the overall look and style of the hotel was very nice, clean and modern. We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights (4 occupants). Our room was 101. On the first floor it faced the road and with very high ceilings and stylish with a bath and very well designed we were very impressed, good wifi, dressing gowns and slippers, safe, mini bar, tv and fresh light sheets, but sadly the room was extremely noisy because of the 4 lanes of traffic (nothing like a motorway as it wasn't heavy but was enough with motor bikes, cars, ambulances etc) and 2 lanes of trams outside. It also was situated just at the top of the stairs above the restaurant and next to the lift and a laundry cupboard/room which again was noisy. At 5am as we couldn't sleep we asked to change rooms and initially we were told by the night manager there were no rooms but after talking to the day manager in the morning we were moved with no fuss to the top floor room 401 (the hotel moved our bags for us). It was also explained to us that the quality of the room would not be that of the original (which slept 3 - third single bed made up as a sofa), and on seeing it it had no windows or bath but had 2 skylights and was again very stylish (more of a suite as on-suite shower room, bedroom and the entrance room had dinning chairs and table and tea coffee making facilities) prob more of a mini executive suite. It wasn't at all "cell like" which some of the reviews have mentioned and was lovely and quiet and only rarely could we hear any traffic and our remaining nights were sound sleep. The skylight windows sadly didn't have the instructions in the room and the batteries were very low in one of the 2 control handsets but I managed to work it out fine between one in Italian (which I don't speak) and one in English and swopped the batteries over to the bedroom one and I didn't need to ask reception for help. The other room for our friends was very nice on the second floor and was a lot smaller than the ones we had but again stylish but faced the road and wasn't as noisy as our first and they managed to sleep ok but they couldn't alter the heat (see other reviews talking about this first hand). Breakfast was very good but it goes faster than it's replenished as the hotel was very busy and I did have to ask for hot water jug to be filled and the cold milk replenished on 2 mornings. It is a good spread more continental spread but was some bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages, cereals and some fruit as well as a toaster and different breads, jams, yogurts and even salmon briefly. The front desk staff were very friendly and happy to help with local restaurant advice and even booked a private car to the airport for us and would definitely stay again but would ask for a quiet room by phone just to be sure.
Good location, not far from the city centre and the Vatican. Nice and clean room, though a bit noisy during the nigth as it was facing a rather busy street (needs a better double glass). Breakfast was not too special, it lacked a bit of consistency during the week. Brilliant staff, very kind and helpful.
