When we arrived to the hotel, the receptionist lady was very kind, and escorted us to our room. When we get into the room, we were shocked, that a man was coming out from our room. He was the owner, and he phoned in our room. The floor was not cleaned, it was full with crumb and dirt. Next day I asked for cleaning, and finaly they did. The room was very simple, our own bathroom was on the other side of the corridor. Towels need to change. For breakfast we got 1 croissant and 1 capuccino. For better breakfast they asked 3 euros/person. Location is near to metro station Termini, in a small street, on the opposite side of a nice restaurant called La Famiglia.
A very nice hotel, which I'd visit again. Below all the details I can remember. Reception He reception is manned most of the time, always when they expect visitors. The night-shift sleeps in the back so always someone there. We were greeted by a friendly person. Room The thing we noticed in our room (and all rooms might be different), was the large amount of space. It was a spacious room! The bathroom was also very big (see attached pictures). As far as we could tell, the room was clean. The bed was daily made. After checking in, two glasses of wine and different kinds of chips were brought to us. That was a very nice surprise! In the bathroom, a blow-dryer and a dispenser with hand-soap is available. Shower gel is not available, but you have can buy it in the area. Towels are provided. If you're from Europe, your normal F-type power-plugs will work just fine. Their wall-outlets are support two standards. Which is convenient. Free WIFI is available. No elevator in the building. There's a cozy terrace outside at the first floor you can sit outside, quite nice. Breakfast This was a bit of a surprise. Our last vacation was in the USA, there things were a bit different. We got downstairs, and were asked if we wanted tea/coffee/cappuccino and a croissant. You get brought one croissant (or a similar type of pastry) per person. You can get a refill, if asked. On our last day, we noticed that daily they get delivered fresh pastries. Transportation The hotel is conveniently located (5-minute walk) near the Termini station (bus, metro, train). The Big Bus tours, also start with their hop-on hop-off buss from Termini station.
We stayed at Hotel Alexis for 3 nights earlier this month & found the stay very pleasant & the staff friendly. We did have a little problem with our room on the second day, but this was swiftly resolved without question as soon as staff were notified. The rooms are a little basic & dated but were always clean neat & tidy. We found the location ideal for exploring the city especially when arriving & leaving as its only a short walk to Termini Train Station. The hotel is also only a short walk to many of the sights which we wanted to see. Breakfast is served from 8:30 & although its only a simple breakfast it was very fresh & promptly served. We absolutely loved the little garden terrace & spent half an hour or so every evening there chilling having a beer before bed when we had returned from our evening meal. We would happily stay here again if we are lucky enough to visit the fantastic city of Rome again.
Big plus is the location, which 4-5 minute walk from the termini. The staff was courteous and helpful. The Hotel has no lift, but the staff helped me to carry the luggage to the room. It seems that they have 24 hr check-in. The room was quite good for the pay with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean. I stayed for a night. Although there was an air conditioner, i was told that it could be operated only in the summer. But, it was not that hot (April), so I could manage to sleep after a long haul flight. The wall isn't well insulated and unfriendly as I could hear the neighbors well. But I hope it was just with the room I was staying in the first floor. The breakfast starts at 8.30 am. But I had to leave before as I had a train to catch the next day. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend it.
Good location for termini. Staff helpful and polite. Stayed for 3 nights with my husband, march 13-16. We had room 202. This is a quiet 2 star hotel which suits the needs of tourists who are out all day. Good size bathroom with hairdryer supplied. The room was clean, so was the bedding and towels. Breakfast was a croissant and hot drink. You could upgrade to a more substantial breakfast if you wanted to. The main positives are it's location, cleanliness and helpful staff. Be realistic, don't expect luxury and you won't be disappointed.
Rooms very comfortable, clean and the staff was very helpfull . Good positioning near bus stations and near Termini Station. There is a terace at the first floor were you can stay for a drink or for smoking. The breakfast is a cofee/capucinno and a croisant, but for 3 Euro extra you can have an english breakfast.
A great budget hotel in a good location within reasonable walking distance of termini station. Very friendly staff but not intrusive. Price included breakfast of a lovely sweet croissant and coffee. My Daughter loved the chocolate one. It was no problem for Elisabeth to make me a decaff coffee.every morning. Nice bathroom good wifi We will certainly return to the Alexis.
The Alexis is in a perfect position to walk Rome. Close to the Termini and Republic train stations and buses pass just a few meters away. The rooms have everything you need and the breakfast is perfect. But by far the best feature of this hotel is the staff. They went out of their way to make our stay simply fabulous.
Stayed at the Hotel Alexis for three nights. The foyer of this hotel is very small and our room was also pretty small but adequate. Breakfast was a typical continental although you could pay extra if you wanted more. Didn't find the staff overly friendly. The location was pretty good, close to the main train station and to buses and metro when going sightseeing. We ended up walking to most places which is OK if you're up to it. I would recommend this hotel to budget minded travellers.
Needed a room on short notice after an evening pub run. The Alexis Hotel filled all the needs: near the Termini Stazione, clean, wifi (a bit spotty, though), coffee & croissants in the AM, freshly laundered linens, and clean - no moldy shower box. Typical Roman family run hotel with small rooms + private bathroom. I would have given it a five but the Alexis must continue to practice switching off the hot water in the wee hours. So no hot shower at 3:00am. And no amenities like soaps and shampoos. Recommended and I would definitely stay again.
