Our room was decorated in old classic style - it was not particularly big but functional. The breakfast buffet service is most definitely worth a mention. Wide choice of cakes, biscuits, jams, drinks etc..
Awesome. When I visit Rome I always try to stay in this hotel, this is one of the last place in this city when you can feel at home while staying in a 4 star Hotel. The family who manage this building knows how to let you feel at home without forgetting the comfort and the services of a real hotel. Ideal location and try the room service, you won’t be disappointed!!!
The Fenix Hotel was selected by our Rome office. It’s a decent stretch from Fiumicino airport. It has one or two good restaurants close by which was handy as this hotel only uses its basement restaurant for breakfast only. There are a lot of steps in this place in either direction from reception which you have to use to reach the lifts which are old and small but nevertheless do the job they are required to do. The heating system is a bit varied with both air con and radiators which have a mind of their own. Some areas cold and the bathroom hot. The rooms are a little tired. The staff were helpful though not particularly cheerful. Breakfast was self service and adequate although a good choice of coffee available freshly made. The hotel layout and design somehow didn’t flow.
I stayed here for 4 days and had their complimentary breakfast buffet 3 times and it was awesome! They have the best coffee I've ever had during my 10 days trip in Italy and other selections are also great such as scrambled egg with bacon and homemade yogurt. The location is not too bad considering there's a bus stop literally right around the corner from the hotel, but definitely not walking distance to the center of Rome. There are cute backyard and antique decorations all over the hotel, and staff are all friendly.
A friend of mine stayed one night at this hotel and we paid with my credit card which was connected to my father's. We booked a room using internet. We booked first on behalf of my friend then found a cheaper opportunity so we cancelled it. This time we used my father's name to book the room. When my friend and I arrive at the hotel we wrote down both of the names -my father's and my friend's names- to make sure that they were not confused and find the reservation easily. They told us nothing so we assumed everything was properly done. When we came back we checked the credit card and we saw one more payment charged. We tried to communicate with the hotel but they refuse to answer in a proper way. Their arguments were just rubbish aiming not to pay back. This was very dishonest and unacceptable. Do not do the same mistake as me. I really do not recommend this hotel.
This hotel was chosen due to its closeness to the PoliKliniko hospital. From all other aspects, it was a disappointment. The rooms are old, with old furniture. The bath is basic, with old facilities. The breakfast is simple and basic as well, and the average WIFI connection did not add to the experience.
Great personnel, well trained and very hospitable. Overall I had a very positive experience. My room was looking on a backyard, and it was quiet. The restaurant area on a backyard was absolutely charming, and service was also great.
There are many good things about this hotel. Location: 10 minutes easy walk to subway Room size: nice and big with nice wrap around balcony. It is also nicely decorate. We love the trees around the hotel, it really make a different in hot days in Rome. The only con that I can find is the water pressure is a bit low so it took me a while to wash my hair. Otherwise, this is one of the nicest people and services I can find in Rome so far. Rome experience for me is very interesting in history but I find many staffs in service industry like restaurant and shopping area to be very emotional and express the attitude both in their speaking. It happened to us and happened to other tourists as I witness people shouting often. This hotel is like Oasis. The staffs is very very nice and very very helpful. We are so glad we chose to be here.
First and foremost was the kind, helpful attitude of the staff. The hotel is nice. The rooms are older but updated. Shower was great. Bed was nice, firm, nice pillows. There is noise from the street but all the windows are new and completely seal out sound. One down side was the AC was routinely off after dark and restarted perfectly at 7am. Breakfast was nicer than the usual Italy hotel breakfast and the outdoor garden area to eat and relax was PERFECT. It was a nice escape even for our 4 year old. VERY reasonable price for what you are getting. I would be happy to go back.
A treat for budget travellers and bus stop just around the corner that can take you anywhere in Rome. Metro is a 10 minutes walk and I usually took the bus to go my destination and came back by metro to have dinner on the way back to hotel.
