Good location

Located very close to the Colosseum, Santa Maria Church and train station. Room was very clean and tidy. Hotel is up 5 flights of stairs or there is a small lift. Had troubles with hot water but I think it was under maintenance.

Why stay here?

Location,price,convenience and access 24 hours with your own keys.I have stayed here for the last 10 years, they give you a ticket for a nice cappuccino and croissant each morning at a nice restaurant close by,stay here for easy access to anywhere!

Cancelled my Reservation

So I have had 9 days booked with this hotel. My flight came in at midnight and they don't do late checkins (which is understandable). However, instead of keeping the reservation and letting me check in the next day they cancelled my entire reservation! Which doesn't make any sense, they should have asked me first before doing this? Anyways, I am glad this happened because I ended booking my stay the freedom Traveler Hostel and it was the best experience I have ever had in my life! I would have loved to get this place a decent review but perhaps they need to be better at communicating with their guests?

I stayed at the Ares hotel for 4 nights. I had double bedroom with bathroom. There was no hot water in bathroom, just cold water. And I think that's a big minus. Room was dark with dirty walls. Breakfast is included in price, which is one croissant and a coffee.

Does the job

I'm a single traveler, and found this hotel to be brilliant for what I needed. I arrived early, but was able to still check in, which was very useful for me as it meant I could go off without having to drag my luggage around with me. The bathroom in my room was very small, which was absolutely fine for me on my own, possibly not if I was there with my partner. Travelling alone I would definitely stay here again, if I was travelling with a friend or my partner, maybe not.

It would be very useful for those coming for the first time to know that it is in an apartment building and that there isn't necessarily a front desk. The owner appeared to have too much on his plate and was very scatter brained, forgetting promises he made and also did not know the correct wifi login info

I BOOKED THIS HOTEL VIA EXPEDIA AS PART OF A PACKAGE, STAYED 5 NIGHTS. I WAS PLEASED. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND WELL KEPT. SOME PEOPLE MIGHT FIND THE BATHROOM SMALL BUT I AM 1.82, 6 FEET, NORMAL BUILD AND I WAS JUST FINE. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND I LIKED THE TOUCH OF CONTACTING ME VIA E-MAIL PRIOR TO ARRIVAL SO THEY CAN FOCUS ON MY SERVICE. THEY ALSO ALLOWED ME TO AN EARLY CHECK IN OF 12.00 INSTEAD OF THE USUAL 15.00. I BOOKED THE HOTEL WITH BREAKFAST THAT IS SERVED ACROSS THE STREET IN A CAFFE AND IT IS 1 CUP OF COFFEE AND ONE SELECTION OF CROISSANT, DANISH OR OTHER DOUGH PRODUCT. THE ONLY REASON THAT I GIVE TO THE HOTEL 4 OUT OF 5 RATING, I WOULD PREFER TO GIVE 4.5, IS THAT ONE DAY (THURSDAY) OUT OF 5 DAYS I HAD NO HOT WATER DURING MORNING HOURS.

Poor management

After prepaying for the room, a month in advance they did not have the reserved room for us. So fortunately they had a room with a shared bathroom so we did not have any other option then taking it.For breakfast which they include with prices is equivalent of having no breakfast as they serve only a coffee and a single doughnut. However the location of the hotel was good.

Great Hotel room, centrally located.

I'm usually not one to rate my stays, but my experience at Ares was a very positive one and I'd recommend it to anybody who's traveling near the Rome area. The rooms are clean and well kept. There're 6 rooms with a few variations between them. Some have their own bathrooms and some you share the common areas. Great Rome experience and a wonderful stay. - op

Good price-quality..Amazing location

We love the hotel. The rooms were clean, lots of space and really comfortable. The location couldn't be better. Everything is two minutes away.You have restaurants and monuments 1 minute walk, and its really close to Termini station The neighbourhood is close to Termini, so lots of ambulant sales going on. We really enjoy it there.

Excellent location

Great location. stayed with family of 4 with kids. Room is small by US standards, however location is perfect. We were able to walk to many locations, including Trevi fountain. Metro train/bus is very close by. We enjoyed our stay here.

I was very disappointed in this hotel. It is a converted apartment dwelling & did not include: Soap, shampoo, etc. One guest brought out a bed bug to show...we were lucky to not have that issue. The breakfast was almost the most disappointing...1 hot beverage, small cup of juice, & prepackaged pastry. My girlfriend had a cup of tea that was run through the coffee machine & was undrinkable. My coffee was always good, despite the plastic cup.Most disappointing was the noise made at all hours by the staff, and it almost seemed intentionally loud as if to wake up the guests to get them out of their rooms. I have never had staff make such an effort to avoid being quiet. The shower did not work, the room was cramped & not furnished with a sense of guest comfort. Management was very kind, & I hope that they read reviews & make changes because the property has potential & outstanding location. I do not recommend the hotel other than to avoid sleeping on a park bench. I will not return to this hotel. I was overcharged & not given a receipt for cash payment. Just a figure written down on a notepad due at checkout. For the price it is not worth the stay, they should be listed as a 1/2 star Hostel.

Charming and Simple

No-frills hotel. Can't comment on whether it's pricey or not because it was my first time in Rome. However, judging by lack of availability of decent-looking rooms and price ranges, I think this place is just right. Very clean and well-kept. Very quiet. Staff is friendly and eager to help. A ten-minute walk to the Collosseum. Would definitely recommend it to others.

씻는중에 물이 끊겨서 헹구지도 못하고 그냥 잤습니다. 새벽이라 일어나면 물 나오겠지 했는데 아침에도 물이 안나와서 생수물로 이만 닦고 나왔습니다. 변기물도 안내려가고 정말 최악이였습니다. 직원이 24시간 상주하는게 아니라 어디다 말도 못했습니다. 다른곳가세요. 최악!!!!!!! worst!!!
