The hotel was awesome! Everything was conveniently located, the beach was super clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the food at the restaurants was plentiful and tasteful. Highly recommended!

Having spent over 3,000 nights in a hotel over the last 30 years I would rank this hotel in the bottom 5. This is because that under Panamanian Law Senior Citizens are allowed a discount on hotels which this Hotel refused to give. I was told that i was not eligible for the discount because I used Orbitz which is in the US and not Panama. To qualify for the discount I would have had to use their website www.riu.com. Of course, their website is based in Europe which means the reason they gave me was total BS. Gee and the rates on their website are much higher than Orbitz for the same room. It seems obvious that they do not want Seniors to come to their property. To further add insult my application to join their loyalty program (done before I went to the property) was rejected because they "verified" that I was a travel agent. Of course I am not a travel agent but if I was I would be most upset. I think this is another method of discouraging Seniors so they do not have to provide the discounts. The room was nice, the staff very courteous but the food was not good. Of four dinners, one was good if you stuck to the pork loin. I walked out of the Italian dinner after tasting the ravioli. And I am not a picky eater. As other reviews have said the steak was tough enough to be inedible. Our room was dirty and never cleaned properly. They never filled our refrigerator to accommodate 3 people in the room. Everything needs to be updated.

Bait and switch! Cut my vacation a day short so I would get $385 resort credit. Got their and all they gave me were a bunch of expired coupons. Talked to a manager and she gave me more worthless coupons and even if they were not expired they could not be combined with each other. Will not stay at a Riu again if this is they way they do business.
We were supposed to have to double beds and there was only a king size bed and a pull out couch. They did nothing to make up for this nor did orbitz. It was also a two hour drive from the airport
