Staff is great but food and drinks are not very good.

Bait and switch! Cut my vacation a day short so I would get $385 resort credit. Got their and all they gave me were a bunch of expired coupons. Talked to a manager and she gave me more worthless coupons and even if they were not expired they could not be combined with each other. Will not stay at a Riu again if this is they way they do business.

We were supposed to have to double beds and there was only a king size bed and a pull out couch. They did nothing to make up for this nor did orbitz. It was also a two hour drive from the airport

The food selection and staff were wonderful but the room left a lot to be desired. The bed was very uncomfortable. The shower was rarely hot. There was only one hand, face & bath towel for each of us.

Not all of the restaurants were open- only 1 per night. We were not notified of this during booking. Huge difference compared to riu hotels in Mexico, dominican republic, etc. Rooms could be better, beach was filled with dirt/mud and could not be used. The pools are nice and the hotel is newly built.

Enjoyed our stay, but until that put a washroom at the pool area they will have nothing but complains. The staff were great, enjoyed the beach, good for walking, but not for swimming. Restaurants- steak house was ok. Assian was very good, and the Italian had great salmon. Buffet, was ok. I read about the washroom problem, was not sure I believed it until we got there. The beach and the bar pool has everyone drinking and they would have to dry off and walk to the restaurant to use the rest room. Really poor planning on the hotel design. I was happy they had another pool to use that was closer to the restrooms and the pool was cleaner, but that pool had no bar. Who designed this??.

We enjoyed our stay, rooms are very nice, some things could be improved, like providing room service for example. Also, there were no elevators at the end of the oceanfront wings where we were. The beach can use a little cleaning as well.

The liquor variety is not existent. How do you have a hotel in a tropical location and not have coconut or any flavored rum? Their drink menu is a joke. No room service. They stock the fridge in the rooms every other day. The food variety is just as bad. The food has no flavor and to top it off, NOT one salt shaker works at the resort. If you ask for salt, you get a salt packet with clumped up salt. The Asian restaurant food tastes like it was frozen cuisine, The Steak Restaurant has rude waiters. A person in our group can only eat gluten free so requested shrimp instead of the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The waiter refused to bring the shrimp appetizer (which is only 5 shrimps) because only 1 allowed per table. Did this waiter not get the memo "This is an all-inclusive" resort. We did not request 100 shrimps, just 5 shrimps (small shrimps). The steak was rubbery, the red snapper over-cooked, the chicken breast was dry. If you can't avoid the resort, Avoid the steak house, at all cost. All is not lost, the Italian Restaurant has great service and entrees were good. The pools have no bathrooms near them. If you sit and watch, you don't see many people leaving the pool for hours. So, I'm assuming the pools are full of pee. This was not peak season and the wait was long for service. I can't imagine going when they are at full capacity. I've been to many all-inclusive it this is maybe a 2 star resort, at most.

I love the hotel. A lot of activities by the pool and by the beach. The evening shows are very good. And the most important thing for me was you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

It's about 2 hours from tocumen airport and you can get a rental car for less than 20/Day including insurance for 3rd party damages (your u.s. credit card only covers liability) which I feel it's a great deal because other transportation options I researched were a lot more expensive, and you get a car to go to other places. Their tours were expensive for what they were so again the car came in handy. The hotel is good, staff is great, facilities are clean, they make an effort to keep you entertained. My only complaint, and this is not the hotel's fault, is that the beach looks dirty. It's not dirty, it's just that the sand on the Pacific side send to be great, so the water looks off. Again, not their fault, but something to consider. I went to a beach on the Atlantic side and it was perfect

In general, bad experience. The room is very good, but the rest is very bad, mostly the service.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were attentive and helpful at all times. Beautiful beach.

too many children all over the hotel and the food pretty bad never again and also too far from the city way too far

This hotel is really a gem in Riu's crown. The only thing I didn't like was the cost of the Wifi. $40 a week seems very high. Most hotels include this now and I think charging this much is a little out there. Other than that, this hotel is great.

Biggest issue was not chairs by pool. People get up and reserve them by placing items on them by 6am, then don't return for several hours. There is a policy of not reserving seats but hotel does not enforce. Very little shade to get out of the heat

The Riu Playa Blanca was beyond gorgeous. This property is truly a sight to see. The buffets were so so. Beach was phenomenal. They have black sand here with a mixture of white sand. The way the white sand glistens in the sun makes it look like sparkling crystals. The only downfall for this property is the location, because there is nothing beyond the property so you would have to travel almost 2 hours for city life, and the fact that they mostly cater to their spanish speaking guests. Not too many of the staff spoke english and this made it hard to communicate. I appreciated the fact that alot of the workers tried to speak english though they were not fluent. All in all this was a fantastic trip!!

Wanted to try a new place in Panama. Looked nice and prices were not bad. Biggest issue was even though their policy is not to reserve chairs by pool, they do not enforce it. All seats were gone by 6:00am. People would get up, go down and load chairs with personal items and hold them then not return for several hours.

We stayed a holiday weekend and took some days off, and this hotel was perfect. We drove to their location, and it is quite an adventure, but the hotel and the staff is worthy of staying. Food and facilities are great, and the activities are excellent. Highly recommended!

It was a great resort to family. Everyone was happy to be there. Only thing that bothered us was a distance from the Toumen International Airport. It took about 2 hours of driving by a rental car.
