Olinda Rio Hotel

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

My rating is purely based upon the fact the Hotel broke the handle off of my suitcase while it was in their storage, and has been impossible to contact. If i received help from them, i would be glad to update my review, until then i give them 1 star. Hotel is nice, and on the beach. Breakfast is good as well. Room was clean, shower was ok, but the walls were covered in mold.

Booked a room for the first night of Carnaval with Ocean View. Total cost was under 2 Benjis, with all taxes. It's centrally located on the strip in Copacabana. The room was clean and roomy, but the infrastructure was a bit dated. Large lobby/restaurant. The menu was rather limited so I didn't bother trying it out. I've stayed in far better in Rio, but this was a clean, comfortable option and the location is great. I'd have given this a 3.5 star...not nice enough to warrant 4, but more comfy than a plain 3.

Excellent location, very good breakfast and helpful staff

For the price and the location, this hotel is great. Staff was very accommodating, helpful, and knowledgeable. Internet in the room was free (which we expected in all of our hotels, but often did not find). Clean room, big comfortable bed, staff helped with recommendations and setting up activities. Right in the heart of Copacabana.

This was what was needed- a long weekend on the beach- right on the beach. A good clean rom with a view and great location. Good b'fast, good staff, could not have asked for more.

The staff was very nice & professional. The building is old not updated the rooms are old the bathroom curtain had mold. Housekeeping of the room was very nice the sheets & towels were very clean & she did a great job but the room is old. Breakfast was very nice but lunch was not good at the hotel.

The hotel is very bare, not worth what they charge. The location is perfect but you will probably not have a beach view room. My room window was facing a space between the hotel and the next building, with a big air conditioning machine that was very loud. It felt like I was inside an airplane because of the noise. I asked the reception to change my room and they said that they were completely booked, which I think was a lie.

It was my first time at Olinda Othon, and it is in a good location - right on Copacabana beach - convenient short walk to restaurants, and short taxi ride to business district. Room is decent, staff is courteous, and breakfast is slightly better than typical. From a business perspective, if hotels such as this one add two things to their rooms: coffee, and iron (with ironing board). Both are cheap items, but have a significant effect on the quality of stay.

business visit to rio and this was a last minute booking. $200 after a discount but not much to this hotel. room was decently sized but really didnt have much going for it. no flat screen tv, small shower cubicle, no view whatsover, hallway light came through the door, bfast was ordinary and the decor outdated. the good was the staff..helpful and polite..right from the doorman to the waiters to the front desk.

Satisfactorily experience. I would recommend to a friend.

Great location but tiny standard room. The next time, I will opt for a deluxe room. The service, location, and free breakfast were all excellent, though.

This is my 4th trip to Rio and I have stayed at quite a few hotels. This hotel was great! The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly, and the view of the beach from our room was fantastic. The hotel was clean with beautiful decor. The breakfast was good, but not as good as other hotels I have stayed in (not up to Ipanema standards.) The only thing missing was valet parking. This hotel is very safe and I would highly recommend staying there. I will stay there again the next time I am in Brazil.

Check-In: My husband and I went to Rio for business. We were there for 3 days and 2 nights. We chose Olinda Othon Classic Hotel, becouse of the area and we had saw good reviews about the hotel. When we arrived there around 12:00 pm, we had to wait for their check in time ( 15:00 ). So, we went out to have lunch and when we came back, they took us to our room which had a maintenance issuee. The bell man man contacted the front desk and they moved our room to another floor. The room had two single beds and the air conditioner wasn't turned on. The bell man had to flip the circut breaker in a maintenance are to fix it. When we departed the room for the day a housekeeper pushed the beds together and resheeted it with a king sheet. Stay: The stay was pleasant, if your room wasn't oceanside you have NO view. The breakfast was adequate but nothing fancy. They hotel has recenty been upfitted so all of the furniture and lobby area was nicely decorated. The staff was helpful and a few of them spoke english. We needed to ask for the room to be cleaned the next day as it was 12pm and had not yet been attended too (We had been out since 6am that morning so they had plenty of time). All in all the hotel was good but if you do not care about the view I would recommend a hotel a block or 2 from the beach.

The hotel was in a perfect location. It's right on the beach of Copacabana, and it's a decent but possible walk to pretty much anywhere in Leme, Copacabana, and even Ipanema. I've never met a more friendly hotel staff ever, they're multilingual and are always willing to help you out. The hotel is newly remodeled, but it seems like the rooms haven't quite caught up yet. But regardless, the rooms were very comfortable, peaceful, and clean. It's definitely worth the 4 stars it shows on the front cause of the location, staff, and service.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. I had a great time getting to know them. The location is right on Copacabana beach for an exceptionally reasonable price. I had a great experience using this hotel as my home base as I explored the rest of Rio.

Excellent location right across the road from the world famous Copacabana Beach. Friendly English speaking desk staff. Great continrntal breakfast. Clean comfortable room. All-in-all a great destination for travellers.

Outstanding service and a hotel staff willing to accommodate our needs. Good location and plenty of dining close by. Rooms are not large but a very nice place to stay. Our rooms were upgraded at no cost after we decided we wanted a view of the beach.

This hotel offered great value and location was fantastic. Copacaban Beach is truly 'the princess of the sea'. The staff were very friendly and helpful in getting us oriented on our first visit to Rio. We made requests and these received immediate attention in spite of the hotel being busy.

The hotel location is great. The staff is helpful, courteous and friendly. While the menu selection in the restaraunt is limited, the food is excellent.

This is a pleasant hotel with a friendly and very helpful staff. Our room faced the beach so was a little noisy but a great view. Breakfast was included as was a transfer to the airport. They were helpful in arranging tours too. There are restaurants and cafe's nearby, as well as banks wih ATM's just down the street. Its a good location in Copacabana, friendly and unpretentious.
