Imagine a cozy private chalet located in the beautiful backdrop of rural landscapes, but close enough to all the amenities of a small town. This rustic log home is an ideal place to unwind and decompress from the stress of daily life. Sitting on 2 acres of land, there are plenty of activities to do outside on the property proper and in the surrounding Rideau Lakes area. The chalet is a custom built log home with over 2500 sqft of living space. The towering cathedral ceilings are impressive and give a sense of spaciousness. The main floor has a large custom kitchen, a dinning area, an open living room (with an impressive wood fireplace), two bedrooms and a 3-piece bathroom. The upstairs has a large common area where guests can lounge and watch TV or enjoy an immersive board game while sipping a glass of wine. The basement, similar in size to the main floor, has a large common area, a games room, two guest bedrooms and a 3-piece bathroom. Outside, the chalet is surrounded by a wrap around veranda with a large deck area at the rear of the property. There is a large above ground pool to refresh during those long, hot summer days. It is a perfect setting for a large family or 2 smaller families to escape the fast pace of the city and reconnect with nature in this majestic rural setting. It's a 5-minute drive to the marina and boat launch in the village of Portland as well as a 5-minute drive to the nearby Cataraqui trail. Here guests can participate in all types of outdoor sports including running, cycling, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing or snowmobiling in winter. The towns of Smith Falls and Newboro are a short 15-20 minute drive in opposite directions while historical Perth, Westboro and Chaffey's Lock are a 25-30 minute drive away. There's no shortage of things to do in the region including sight-seeing, swimming, boating, fishing, golfing, wine-tasting or visiting local breweries and distilleries.
