Hotel Keflavik

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Very nice hotel in the relatively small town of Keflavik. Very accommodating hotel staff. Easy walk into town (2 blocks) and the small but cute shopping street (where most of the restaurants are).

we checked into a suite and were pleased with the results. Thanks to the front desk. We were at the end of the third floor and it was quiet. A Japan airlines flight crew came in while we were there and it did get a little rambunctious but after dinner it was quiet again. We were only a few minutes from the Keflavik restaurants and went out to a Thai one. I know, I'm in Iceland, but the prices were reasonable and the food ok. Oh, you can't beat the breakfast buffet. This is not a continental breakfast but the full smorgasbord. I do like all that herring and salmon on the most excellent rye bread

Very nice and clean hotel within an easy drive to the airport and about 40 min drive to Reykjavik. The car parking is free. The hotel stuff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a deluxe suite with an extremely comfortable queen size bed. The room is furnished with a small love seat and writing table with a chair so we didn't have to sit on the bed. It is supplied with a mini fridge and a safe. It has enough storage space for the suitcases and hanging clothes. The bathroom has a bathtub with shower and is supplied with hairdryer. It has enough places to hang towels and clothes. The breakfast is free and abundant. Everything tastes delicious. Can't ask for anything more. The hotel has a restaurant but we didn't have the chance to eat there. It also has a gym and sauna. Complementary coffee and tea in the lobby 24/7. There is an airport shuttle at specific hours in the morning only but we rented a car so I am not sure how it works. Overall great hotel to stay not only for overnight but for an extended stay also. I will highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again.

Hotel is located about 10 min from the airport. Convenient for a late arrival but not at the airport. Room rather small for a triple. The cleaning ladies made a lot of noise in the corridor and it was still early in the morning. Very comfortable beds.

Hotel Keflavik was the most comfortable hotel we stayed in throughout our trip to Iceland. Everything was immaculate. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We asked for a 6:00 dinner seating and they actually opened the restaurant a little early to accommodate us. The food and wine were excellent. I wish we could have stayed another night!

The only bad thing was the arranged ride to the airport was 15 minutes late. I had plenty of time but the other 3 people were concerned about time and had to take a taxi.

7 minutes from the Keflavik airport, quick check-in, nice room, on-time shuttle to the airport.

Hotel Keflavik is a really nice hotel for the price. The breakfast buffet makes it a great value, especially considering how expensive food in Iceland is. The location is nice too in that the main street is only a few hundred feet away and there are several other dining options within walking distance. The airport is very close which makes it an easy commute.

Hotel Keflavik was very responsive to E-mails on Excursions planned for the Trip and and arranged the excursions. Staff helped me downoad Boarding passes for return flight and transport to airport was complimentary. No shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Room was well appointed and complete but our room for two did not have enough drawer space. Best Breakfast I've seen in travels around the world but only cold or microwaveable offerings. Restaurant prices were high but that's typical for Iceland. A very good hotel which we enjoyed.

Staff were helpful and made fast accommodations for early check-in. Breakfast buffet was yummy so is the restaurant. Traveling with a 4 year old so very child friendly. We all slept in one bed which was fine.

Hotel Keflavik is not a 5 star luxury hotel so therefore you can only expect what you can expect but...we were very impressed by the staff and their friendliness. Hotel was very clean and breakfast was awesome. I would always go back!!!

We had a good experience with this hotel. We arrived early in the morning and they kept our luggage for us so we can go to our scheduled tour. Upon our departure, they opened the breakfast room earlier than the opening time so we can get something to eat before we head to the airport.

Good sized room, very neat & clean. We liked the offerings for the breakfast buffet

We asked for two keys at check in and were told they didn't have an extra. Then the manager contacted us and told us they would make an extra key. One of the staff asked why we needed an extra one anyway. Really? Because we are two people, not conjoined twins. Then the other woman made a key to the wrong room. This debacle wasted another half hour . Not even an apology for screwing up. The junior "suite" was a tiny room with a cheap couch crammed in it. The manager offered free drinks to compensate, but the bar was closed by the time we returned. A lot of $ and very disappointing. The only advantage was the proximity to the airport. The breakfast was good.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel very modern and quite fancy inside. Rooms were small, but very comfortable with an extensive breakfast. Close to the airport.
