I liked the location. The staff was friendly. The bathrooms were clean
It was a very nice stay and the stuff was super helpful:)
It’s right in the middle of the city and next to a very important bus stop. We loved being able to get around easily from this location.
Spent 3 nights at Hlemmur Square and it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The concierge was very helpful, and even helped us find free parking for our rental car. Would stay again
The nice thing is the hotel / hostel is close in walking distance to the city. We were able to walk toward the Hallgrimskirkja church to watch the New Year’s Eve firework which was spectacular. First night, we walked across the street and around the corner to have dinner at Reykjavik kitchen and the food was wonderful and they offered 25% off on the weeknight we arrived!!! The facility in this hostel is average but were kept somewhat clean. They DO NOT fix our beds or clean the room except the bathroom during our 4- night stay. The staff was helpful and told us to walked two blocks away to get grocery from Bonus rather than across the street where everything was marked 40% higher!! This is a good but average stay! Don’t expect any 5- star living here.
We loved the proximity to the bus stop and the ease of walking to the heart of Reykjavík.
Great location to see Reykjavik. It's on the main road for perusing stores and museums are nearby. But one thing really great is that all the tour buses will pick you up just outside the hotel.
We stayed in the hotel portion of Hlemmur Square. The room was clean and they had keyed access to both the elevator and the floor for security. This hotel was a great value. We had stayed at another hotel for the business portion of my wife's trip and it was 3 times more expensive than Hlemmur Square. I think that I actually preferred the room at Hlemmur Square. The lobby was not as impressive or formal, but it was comfortable and adequate. The hotel was in an excellent location. Many stores and restaurants were within easy walking distance and the main bus terminal was just outside. Overall, I had no complaints and was very pleased with Hlemmur Square.
The room was pretty decent, even though I was upgraded to a "private/junior studio." I was under the impression that I was booking a "hotel room" on the hotel side of this accommodation; instead, we were booked on the floors with the hostel rooms and dorms, not the hotel floor. The advertisement was very misleading. Next door to our room was a dorm room hostel. During our trip, there were a lot of children between the age of 14-18 staying at Hlemmur Square, as in a huge class field trip, ranging from 50-200 kids. They were extremely loud, I can make practically all conversations through the walls, people running up and down the halls, yelling, talking, banging on the doors. There were also groups of teens, as in 6+, hanging out in the hall next to my door. Our room was suppose to have a phone but didn't so I'd have to go downstairs to make the noise complaint. It was ridiculous. Next time I visits Iceland, I'll pay the extra money for a nicer accommodation.
We had a wonderful view of the harbour and mountains. The hotel was very modern, simple and chic. The hotel is located on a main road, making it very easy to venture out and about the city. The staff was very helpful, and our tours were able to pick us up at the hotel no problem. The bar/Restaurant inside was great and they had a very nice breakfast available in the mornings. I would highly recommend.
Located in Hlíðar, Hlemmur Square is adjacent to Laugavegur and within a 15-minute walk of popular sights like Hallgrimskirkja. This 17-room, 3-star hotel has a bar/lounge and a coffee shop/café, along with free in-room WiFi.
For your convenience, a buffet breakfast is served for a fee each morning from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Satisfy your hunger without leaving your room with room service, or quench your thirst with a beverage at the bar/lounge or coffee shop/café.
Guests can stay connected with free WiFi.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking time to write a review, I am glad that you mostly enjoyed your stay with us. I would like to clarify that we do indeed have daily service of all of our private rooms: housekeeping makes up the beds and cleans as needed, unless there is a "Do not disturb" sign on the door. Our dormitories are also cleaned daily, and we offer a change of linen free of charge upon request. I am not sure why this seems to have failed during your stay, but rest assured we will take corrective measures to make sure this daily routine is followed. Thank you again for your feedback!
