Dear Hilton, thanking you for your super agent Mani at the front desk. He was able to identify that I was not having such a great day and did an amazing job turning what started off as a less than excellent experience into something quite special. It’s because of exemplary team members such as him who provide above and beyond that I will remain a loyal Hilton member. Sincerely, Fred
This was our first time staying at The Hilton Reykjavik Nordica. We arrived early in the morning and were able to check in as soon as we got to the hotel...which was aces in our books! The staff was super friendly and very helpful with directions. We will definitely stay again!
Hi, I was surprised to learn that breakfast didn't come with our reservations for 6 nights. I was also surprised to learn that there is an admittance fee for the spa. In the States, the spas don't have an admittance fee. Maybe this is a European thing? Although I have been to Europe, I didn't go to a spa there.
We stayed 3 nights in this stunning hotel. Our room was on the 6th floor and had jaw dropping views of the mountains and water. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were super quiet! The buses stopped right in front of the hotel so it was super easy to get around. Everyone was super nice and helpful!
Stayed here February 1-5..We are arrived at the hotel around 7:30 AM of course check-isnt until 2 PM but they do offer early check-in if rooms are available I believe around $30 luckily they were able to accommodate us w/in an hour of our arrival..While we waited we had their continental breakfast which is pretty nice if you don’t have it included in your rooms stay it is pretty pricey $30 per person..The rooms are pretty small we had a standard queen and it was definitely tight for two people bathroom the same two people cannot be in there at one time there are no room for dressers to store clothes so you will definitely be living out of your luggage if you get a standard room..If you don’t bring plug adapters with you the front desk will gladly let you borrow some from them ..staff was definitely amazing very very helpful with tours shuttles buses etc..
A short trip to Iceland is a bucket list item for many people. Choosing the right hotel makes the difference between a good stay and a fantastic one. The hotel is well positioned just out of town but within easy reach, and I suggest a room on the exec level as their lounge is well positioned with a great view and happy hours are a good way to meet others and chat about experiences. Traveling from Australia meant I was jet lagged a bit, but Gunnar and Sunna (night staff) looked after me well in the middle of the night when I could not sleep! Thanks guys :-). But it's when you have a medical emergency then you see how caring the staff are! They assisted me way further than expected (kiartan) calmed my wife and arranged for a hospital visit which is quite close to the hotel by the way. All turned out well but we will always remember this hotel fondly. I have no hesitation in reccomening the hilton and congratulate the mgr on having such great staff!
I travelled to Reykjavik on a solo holiday for 3 nights and stayed at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica. What a wonderful hotel! Modern, sophisticated, clean and stylish. Staff were fantastic. The food and drink are expensive - but so is everything in Reykjavik! My Hilton Honors status meant I was given access to the Executive Lounge with beautiful views. I also went to the spa and enjoyed a lovely head massage in the hot tub. There’s an outdoor jacuzzi too which in winter is just magical. I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you Hilton for another memorable stay! I’ll be back!
Recently stayed at the Hilton Nordica and my family really enjoyed the hotel. Chose this HH property as the price was the best value and there is an exec lounge too. We had a twin plus exec room Only issue was the cot/crib was not ready on arrival. apart from that the rooms were spotless, the view from the room when it wasn't snowing was amazing. Breakfast was a good spread in the restaurant, never tried the lounge in the morning. The lounge in the evening had some lite bites and a good choice of drinks. Also the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Location wise there are few shops nearby for bits and a 10/15 minute walk to the town. we rented a car and the free onsite parking in front of the hotel was handy. Lots of buses stopping for tour pick-up so its a known location with the tour operators. If back in the area I would return here. Stay was using points and cash so saved a few pennies as the country is not cheap.
We stayed in a 'Queen Executive Plus' room on the 9th floor for a short three day trip to Iceland. This included access to the Executive Lounge and the Spa. The room: The room had beautiful sweeping views out towards Mount Esja and the sea. We really appreciated having the extra space, with two comfy armchairs to relax in and a desk to sit at if required. The room faced out towards the main road at the front of the hotel so the road noise was noticeable but did not disturb our sleep. The Nordica is an older property so some of the amenities are slightly retro- the speaker system accepted CD's and didn't have bluetooth or AUX. Our only two niggles would be quite a strong draught in the bathroom, which made stepping out of the shower very cold, and a very confusing set of switches to control the lights in the room. Free Wifi was available throughout the hotel and worked fine during our stay. The Executive Lounge: If you have the option of accessing the Executive Lounge, I'd highly recommend it due to how expensive products are in Iceland- having access to breakfast etc here saved us a lot of money. The breakfast spread included pastries, various breads and spreads, skyr, fresh fruit and for hot options scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. For Vegans, the lounge provides almond milk as an alternative to dairy milk, fruit, spreads such as peanut butter and cereals. Throughout the day refreshments include soft drinks, juices, water and in the evenings alcohol is also served. The lounge also has great views out towards Mount Esja and plenty of cosy seating. The hotel staff: Staff were pleasant and helpful for the most part and I can only say good things about front of house staff who helped me prepare for a surprise engagement, they even arranged for a bottle of prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries to be sent up to our room which was a lovely touch. Vox restaurant: We dined in Vox restaurant twice during our trip- during the first visit we had impeccable service and the quality of the food was great. For meat eaters, I'd absolutely recommend any dish made with famous Icelandic Lamb. Vox also provided at least two vegan options- a Vegan lasagne and a Vegan burger (bean patty and bun substituted for thick home made bread). On our second visit, I tried the fish and chips. The fish was great and battered in a local beer (Borg) however the fries were dry and tasteless. The Spa: We really enjoyed our time in the spa, which had a number of indoor hot tubs, steam rooms and an outdoor hot tub and (very cold) plunge tub. The complimentary shoulder massage offered to us was a great way to unwind after a long day on tours. Unfortunately the sauna wasn't working when we visited. Tourism: All tour operators offer pick up/drop off directly from outside of the hotel which means you can wait comfortably for any tour bus in the lobby. The hotel is not in the city centre, but this did not stop us being able to explore or get around easily. There is a bus stop directly outside that will take you into the city centre, and you can download an app to your phone called 'Straeto' which allows you to purchase bus tickets using a credit card (the only other option is exact cash to the bus driver). Buses were along regularly, usually every 5 minutes. Verdict: A solid Hilton property, where we made some great memories. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
We loved our stay here. The Hop on Hop off bus picks up right in front of the hotel. All the big tour buses drop off and pick up directly from this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is warm and comfortable, with a welcoming vibe. The executive lounge has an excellent breakfast. The happy hour leaves much to be desired. The food at happy hour was bad sandwiches and little frozen egg rolls served barely heated. The fitness center is a dream Come true. They have fitness classes every day all day. I have rarely seen a fitness center this good. The concierge and tour desk ladies were so helpful! We had a large, comfortable room with plenty of seating and comfy beds. We didn’t find a thermostat or any way to control the heat - and then temperature was fine until I wanted to sleep, because I like to sleep in a cold room. (68 or 66) and it felt more like 70 or 72 in the room. When we come back to Iceland this is where we will stay! Did I mention the view? You get an ocean and Mountain View from the room. It is truly gorgeous!
