Bluebird Motel2.0 out of 5.0

We wanted a budget hotel for one night and booked it with an online hotel company. The first room was terrible and we were given a second terrible room. When I asked for a refund I was refused. Room smelled, bathroom had spiders in the shower, extremely poorly maintained and was filthy. We paid $80.00 for an education and if we can save anyone from staying there then our education was worth it. Save your $80.00 and sleep in your car instead!
This is one of the affordable motel and their rate is good. Motel is clean and they ask for any service required or not? I stayed in Kelowna one of the Motel before, they never ask if we need anything or not. These guys are friendly and reasonable on their pricing.
We are from Switzerland and saw price on Internet. We got room in the middle of the motel at the back.Very dirty and stove & fridge stink and lot of mold and cockroaches. It smelled of pee and dog urine. Very disgusted, towels dirty and sheets stained.
Blue bird is an older motel and should do well in the recession. Lots of traffic noise in the front units as it faces the highway. The new owners are nice enough and the staff really try hard to please. However, they should not charge more than ($225 a week or $700 a month) rather than the ($300 a week or $900 a month) without kitchenette boom time rate they currently charge. They clean the rooms once a week to save costs. The price was $800 a month in 2013 and that was a little high. Everyone is looking for a deal and business owners need to provide that or lose business. I'm sure if a few people bring this to their attention they will comply. A little short on trust as well. If a regular customer is few hrs late paying what's the big deal?
Hotel is under new management and front desk staff indicated they are really trying to do improvements to the place. I stayed 1 night in April 2016 and found hotel room reasonably clean and sufficient for my needs with some positive surprises. My bed mattress seemed new and was quite comfortable along with good pillows. I had smoking room but it had a clean neutral air smell to it. Yeah, there are paint chips here and there and the carpet might have a torn thread or two. But the bathroom was clean and functional. A relatively large window opened for fresh air. Room was $ 60 night including taxes which was a reasonable deal. Fairly large parking areas, so good for crews as well. Road noise from Hwy 2 might be an issue for some people but can be reduced by turning on white noise such as the fan. The Bluebird also offers weekly and monthly rates which lowers daily rate into $ 40 range. Staff were polite and relatively diligent. I'd probably stay again for sure when wanting inexpensive accommodations. Photos below.
