Spacious cottage, well located in southern Iceland. The cottage is near Hekla, Landmannalaugar, Þjófafoss, Fossabrekkur, Gjáin, Hjálparfoss, Fjallabakur, and many more famous places. Only 20 min drive from Hella and the highway. In the winter there is a possibility to see the famous northern lights. We're on Google maps: Search for "Afternoon Cottages".

Cozy cottage surrounded by nice nature. You have almost everything you need in this cottage. It's just like a studio apartment. Well-equipped kitchen with a small fridge, 2 elements ceramic cooktop, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and all the kitchenware that's needed. You can use all the coffee and tea you need.

Large bed for two people, 50" TV on the wall to watch Netflix or the local TV station (RÚV). Duvets and duvet covers will be ready along with a sheet on the bed. Two cozy armchairs for chilling. The dining table can be upsized (doubled) if you have friends staying in the other houses to have a meal with you or just a chat over a cup of coffee.

Private bathroom with a toilet, shower, and a nice lighting mirror over a sink. Towels are included. Hand- and bath soap is ready to be used.
The cottage is heated and features a kitchen and a patio. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a Smart TV with Netflix. Other standard amenities include a coffee maker and a dining table.

You will find in this place to be comfortable in you stay. For Americans......Make shore, bring with you electric outlet adopter. Electric outlets in European.

Ideally located and appointed cottage

Everything worked out perfectly, from the reservation, to directions, to the owner’s tips as to what to see and do nearby, and our three-night stay. The waterfall a walking distance from the cottage is wonderful. The cottage has a great, spacious design, and is well appointed—it had all the amenities we needed. Our only regret was that we didn’t book a fourth night!

Absolutely perfect!

This cottage was spotlessly clean and very well kitted out. It was so quiet, right off the beaten path but along a decent tarmac and gravel road from the circular highway 1 near Hella. The only disappointment was that Hekla (volcano) didn't erupt for me (I am a geologist on geoloday!) but it was fascinating to walk along the road and see where the lava flows from 10 years ago ran across the road and have just been bulldozed out of the way to allow cars through! The landscape varies from rough lava flows to smooth basalt pavements to lush glacial outwash streams to sparkling rivers, with Hekla looking resplendent in her snow-capped peak overlooking the scene. We loved it and will definitely stay again when (not if) we return to Iceland. Also, Elvar, the owner, was very helpful (by email - answering very promptly) and also has a good sense of humour! Thanks Elvar for a lovely stay! We'll be back for longer next time!
