This was my third and last hotel stay in four nights. This place was Great! The shuttle would take you to restaurants and come back to pick you up. I wish I could have stayed a little longer. My only complaint was daytime noise due to construction next door but there is absolutely nothing the Fairfield can do about it. That is just part of life. Staff was very friendly. Hotel provided airport shuttle was prompt and extremely helpful. Great stay and would highly recommended this property.
WARNING! There is a BIG, NOISY construction project going on directly across the street from hotel entrance! If you need quiet time in your room during daylight hours, DO NOT stay here because the construction noise is LOUD and goes on for HOURS. Headphones don't block it out. Very disappointed that the front desk clerk didn't mention this when I checked in (well after dark) and pleaded for a REALLY QUIET room so I could work on a presentation the next afternoon. Yes, it's my fault that I checked in after dark, and didn't see the construction site, and it's my employer's fault that I was under a tight deadline and didn't have time to pick up and move somewhere else. Changing rooms wouldn't have made a difference because a machine grinding up huge piles of dirt and rocks was VERY LOUD. And then it got worse: the room had appeared to be clean, but in good light the next morning, I noticed the unsettling horror of RESIDUAL BATHROOM HAIR as well as desk, table, other surfaces that had "sort of" been wiped down but not thoroughly cleaned or vacuumed. I wasn't expecting a fancy room at this price point, but this stay rated "big fail" on quiet and cleanliness and "acceptable" for well-lighted parking lot, free breakfast, and friendly staff.
Our flight home to Boston from Raleigh was unexpectedly cancelled at about 5:30 on a Sunday afternoon -- as you might imagine, we were NOT happy. We googled hotels nearby, and happened upon the Fairfield Inn, a relatively familiar name although none of us had ever stayed in one. We were so happy to have chosen it at random, as our experience could not have been better. The hotel offered an on-call shuttle that arrived within 15 minutes of our call, and its driver, Will Smith, could not have been more kind or courteous, commisserating with our frustration over the cancelled flight, offering a little "tour" of the area, and also understanding that we were tired and getting hungry, so suggested that he could recommend a restaurant, take us there AND pick us up when we were finished at no charge -- what a great service to offer! The woman at the front desk (Sabrina?) also sympathized for our travel woes, checked us in quickly, also offered the shuttle service to nearby restaurants, made note of the in-house breakfast offered the next morning, and asked about when we would need to be back at the airport so that they could be sure to get us there easily the next day. GREAT customer service! The rooms were comfortable and clean, the breakfast the next morning was extensive and delicious (in a cozy, non-cafeteria-like setting that so many other hotel chains seem challenged by) and the business center was easily accessible and well-equipped. The lobby offered water and fresh fruit, as well as comfortable seating to wait for the friends we were meeting, and the shuttle to the airport was ready for us right on time. The staff and accommodations at this hotel "turned our frown upside-down" -- really, they made a trying situation so much more manageable. Kudos to everyone involved!
Very nice hotel with great staff! Clean, modern, and comfortable! Was able to get a very comfortable, good nights sleep here! Close to the Raleigh Durham Airport. Plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from within a short driving distance. Very good free breakfast and free internet!
Great breakfast. Almost anything that you would want was there. The staff was very helpful particularly Rodolfo the cook and Flora the breakfast attendant. Rooms were quiet. And the shuttle to the airport was very convenient.
My stay here was amazing!!! Jermaine went above and beyond to make our experience just the way we like it!! I will most defiantly be back with my family & friends. Our trip turned out to be perfect. Thanks again Jermaine!
I enjoyed my stay! The hotel was very nice and clean . The staff was very welcoming. Jermaine was very nice and friendly. He answered any questions I had. He was very friendly on the shuttle bus! Will stay here again!
I decided to bring my friend this time for her birthday and she enjoyed herself. I am glad Jermaine was there again to help us find things to do at night in the area. The staff was very helpful and friendly as always.
Had a wonderful stay! Jermaine was very helpful during our stay and getting us where we needed to go on the shuttle. He was very nice and pleasant! The hotel was very nice and clean. We will definitely stay again!
I reserved this because it was #7 of 87 hotels in Raleigh. Sorry. This is a mediocre hotel with small rooms and not much to offer except a good location. The first thing we noted upon arrival is the number of people smoking in the smoking area located right outside the front door. When we arrived the clerk on duty didn't know how to check in someone using points. He needed to ask someone for help. There was no offer to upgrade despite high elite status. The room is small and dated. The cleaning staff was very noisy in the hallway in the morning. The AC system was loud and unresponsive to the thermostat. A major interstate highway is right outside the hotel so noise level all night was high. The shower ceiling was dirty (you do, however, have to like the shower head.) A worker started up her vacuum right outside the breakfast area. There was a pregnant woman at breakfast who wasn't properly dressed. The TV is about the size of a postage stamp. There were people smoking on the back patio also. Arriving late in the evening required parking far away or on the street because they have a bunch of park and fly folks apparently.
