The Hilton Colon Quito is a true gem in the heart of Quito, Ecuador. A truly upscale facility where the customer service is only rivaled by the beauty of it’s interior. As one walks in the sparkling clean marble floors coupled by the glass walls gives the interior bright natural lighting. The spacious rooms are well maintained with clean comfortable beds and an ample supply of amenities. The carpets are clean, the sheets are spotless and the towels luxurious. All rooms come with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shaving kits are available upon request. The sizable 40 inch (maybe 42) televisions are easy to operate and the climate control (air conditioning) works perfectly. My only suggestion is the addition of USB ports for our modern society of electronic tools. Customer service is excellent, both fast and efficient. The front desk checks you in immediately and happily offers any assistance one may need. The concierge is very knowledgeable and is happy to arrange transportation and make reservations for tours and restaurants. When calling to make request, i.e. extra soap, shaving kit, etc., the items are brought to the room within 5 minutes! Taxis are always readily available to the concierge at a reasonable rate. ($4.00 To the Movie theaters, $3.00 To the center of town, $25.00 to the airport which is about 45 minutes away, etc.) The Hilton Colon Quito is centrally located and is a stone’s throw to an excellent café, a supermarket, Pharmacy and even McDonald’s/KFC! Though I would recommend the local cuisine which is also a few feet away. About a 20 minute walk to the heart of all the sites such as the Presidential Palace, Main Square and all the beautiful churches. Across the street is a park which offers a plenty of local shopping ranging from shirts, scarves, wallets, and other Ecuadorian trinkets. Another highlight from the Hilton Colon Quito is it’s fitness facilities with Nautilus machines as well as free weights for a complete body workout. There is also a steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi and a pool! All the amenities of a full service gym with very little else one needs to stay fit or decompress. Finally, the restaurant offers an evening buffet filled with a plethora of local Ecuadorian dishes which range from Beef, Chicken and Salmon all simmered in native spices that proves to be a culinary delight! The dessert bar is sinful and the choices are decadent. However, make sure you have a healthy appetite to justify the $26 price tag. Overall, this is a high end hotel which offers everything a person can need. Beautiful facility, centrally located with fantastic customer service. My only suggestion is to request a high room not facing the main street as it may prove noisy to light sleepers. Well done Hilton Colon Quito, we look forward to our next visit!

Overall experience with Hilton Colon, Quito was exceptional. Upon arrival to the hotel to our departure, the staff at the front desk, concierge, doormen, restaurant and Executive Lounge were friendly, professional and helpful with everything we encountered. If ever in Quito, we’ll make sure to stay here again.

The rooms are modern and linens are very good. The bed was comfortable and the bath had great hot water. As for breakfast the scrambled eggs were terrible as they were ice cold luckily I found the omelet maker and got some hot food but no American bacon. We ate dinner at the hotel it was ok but as we found throughout Ecuador all the food is bland they use no seasonings no even salt or pepper.

We stayed a few nights before and after our Galapagos Islands tour and enjoyed the location since it was close to night life and restaurants. The front desk staff and concierge were very helpful and pleasant

This is one of the finer hotels in Quito. The location is very good and provides short walking distances to many of the sights and shopping in Quito. The service was very good from the front desk to the concierge desk. Practically all of the rooms have a view of the city and surrounding mountains. The breakfast buffet was very good, opened at 4 AM, although the full menu items weren't available until 7 AM or so. Service in the breakfast area was only satisfactory. Check in and check out were very easy and the outside pool and sauna were just fantastic. Free wifi and very well kept building.

Great location, clean rooms, good food, intelligent staff, and pleasant. Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff knows English. Great taxi service and concierge. Close to cathedral. Nice scenery. Safe area Too far from airport!!!!

Quito is a lovely, interesting town with good local dining and fun shops. It was in our itinerary after visiting the Galapagos. I'd never been to Ecuador and so pleased to find how delightful the citizens are. I'd visit again but don't expect to as I continue traveling the world.

The Hilton is good but the choices are limited. Stick with the Hilton don't take a chance. Good restaurant good food. Be careful when walking around the area. We were able to book several excursions from the hotel.

We arrived late evening and were processed through very quickly. We had a good night's sleep in the extremely comfortable bed. WIFI worked fine and all amenities were available in our room. No fridge, but ice was promptly delivered when requested. There was an adequate coffee maker. We headed down to the provided breakfast buffet which was substantial and had some interesting Ecuadorian choices including the very good Aji Sauce. The location was fine. There is a park across the street with vendors and sometimes entertainment. Down the block in the other direction is the Artisan Market and several restaurants which we did not try. As we were relaxing preparing for our trip, we ate in the hotel restaurant and had no complaints. On our last day (at the conclusion of our tour) we were allowed a late check out and left our bags, as did others in our group. We wandered about the area and returned again for dinner at the hotel. We had the pizza and it was amazingly good. We had stayed at the Marriott years ago on a Galapagos Tour and that hotel and it's food were not particularly memorable. I'd have to say this Hilton more than met our needs.

We traveled to Ecuador in October which was perfect weather. We found the Hilton Colon Quito to be in an excellent location, two blocks from the craft market and across the street from a nice park. We also walked several blocks beyond the craft market to find lots of quaint restaurants and great shops for discovering local artistic items suitable for gifts. The hotel itself is quintessential Hilton and was terrific in every way.
