The location and access to the beach is key. There are nicer places for sure but the area is very steep and walking to the beach or having to drive would be difficult. Our family is very physically active and it would have been a hassle. We are a family of 4 and stayed in unit 2 which is on the other side of the street and up the hill a little. Not good or easy for sometwith difficultly on stairs etc. but we liked it and the view. We kept saying how much we loved being able to go right to beach. We walked to manual Antonio park and I rented surf boards out front. The rental place right there only had long boards but down the beach had short. Water was warm. Breakfast included was great. Restaurant location is great. Prices were ok. Fish tacos was best value and very good. Over all very happy we stayed there vs other spots. Saw monkeys and sloths on property.

A third of the hotel faces the beach. It i pretty pricey for Costa Rica given that there is no TV, internet does not reach t room,, and nobhair dryer. The kicker i we had no water pressure in the shower..first couple minutes would be ok, then it would trickle. No hot water either. The tap in the sink was better with cold water...had to fill the pitcher to take my shower twice. Given that we checked in at 4 pm and the hotel had a couple rooms...they should have put us in a room without the water main break. The first check in lady seemed clueless about how to read the reservation and her English was poor. The restaurant took 40 minutes to make a couple wraps for lunch with no other customers. First day we got one in 20 minutes to go. Magnetic card to access beach and restaurant timed out early.

This had everything we needed! A nice clean room, pool for the kids, restaurant and easy access to the park and the beach, and TWO troops of white faced monkeys that came through every afternoon.

Well first off i should state that I should have read the description better. The photos are a little misleading but the description was fairly accurate . We left a gorgeous hotel to come here as we thought we would be on the beach in a beach bungalow. The rooms were across the street from the beach and up a large amount of very steep stairs. There was wifi but no tv and the bedding was very old and not comfortable. The view was ok but almost everywhere in manuel antonio has a great view. Also there was no hot water. The description listed did state most of these issues but did not show the quality of the room and no hot water did it for me. We did save a few dollars over the other hotel but i would have gladly paid the difference to stay there again. I think this room should have been priced much lower for budget travelers as there are many better options in the same price range. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
