At $500/night a request for a room with 2 viable beds seemed simple. Nope. 1 king bed plus sofa bed - sofa filthy, bent in the middle and torn pillows. So dirty it was basically a ditch couch. The poor front desk manager pulled out the sofa bed, blech, the feet didn't touch the floor, the foot of the bed was at least 6 inches higher than the head. Grotesquely dirty to boot. Expedia - this property needs a closer inspection. YUCK

What a wonderful surprise! Knowing nothing about Quebec we booked a reasonably priced room via Hotels.com not knowing we were getting a REAL DEAL! Even they have not advertised the rate we got as low since then. And the Port Royal is probably the nicest hotel we've stayed in all our 70+ years. We had a true suite - bedroom in corner with 2 windows separated from the suite by lovely french doors. the main room was open yet divided into sections with a full kitchenette including four burner stove top and large table with four chairs. At the end of the room was a Murphy bed (we did not use) which had large couch in front of it yet the bed could have pulled down over it. There was as there should always be in a hotel, a desk with comfortable desk chair. The desk, the kitchen, and the bedroom had more electrical outlets than we could possibly use for our 2 phones, 2 laptops, e-reader, 2 smartwatches, C-Pap machine, etc charging stations ! The bathroom (as large as some hotel rooms we've stayed in) was huge with an over-sized walk-in shower all done in 24" sq "Marble"tiles floor to ceiling including the window seat ! My wife has mobility issues and uses a walker and there was no place - no corner in the room she could not access with her walker. To say the least we were surprised, impressed and overjoyed with the accommodation. PS - there was a great restaurant/bar patio on the property - the staff were helpful and pleasant-the overall experience for our 3 night stay was AWESOME!

A wonderful gem in Quebec City old town

Wonderful hotel, perfect location for touring the Old Town of QC, and easy access to the upper level as well. Charming area and hotel, very friendly and accomodating staff, even to English :)

It was just lovely. The Hotel fit into its locale without dominating it. We crossed the street four times to eat dinner. each time at a different restaurant.

I had a really great stay! The hotel was very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — they made the experience even better. I just have one small suggestion: it would be nice to have some bottled water, chamomile, and tea available in the room for added convenience. Overall, everything was excellent. Thank you for the great service!
