I really enjoyed my holidays with my Wife in Almeria. Hotel is just a seconds away from the heart of old town with lots of shops and restaurants around. We had a lovely view on Alcazaba. The roof top swimming pool and a beach (20 minutes away) will help you relax. Modern style, spacious room. Parking is very easy.. You are not allowed to park yourself. Every time the member of staff will do it for you or bring it back... :o)
Don't get me wrong, i had a nice stay at the AC Marriott in Almeria and the staff were fantastic. The rooms were comfortable and the pool on the terrace was a really nice place to spend time. I think however cost cutting which seems to be happening across the Marriott band these days resembled a stay to traveling on a budget airline where your experience ends with just a boarding pass and a seat. The breakfast was fresh with a good choice of continental dishes, hams, cheese, croissants etc, which also came with some hot food options, BUT apart from the dried up scrambled eggs in the food warmer you weren't permitted to have any other choice of eggs. I politely asked if it was possible to have a poached or fried egg and was told that they only offer the scrambled eggs on the buffet. As it would take 2-3 minutes to fry or poach an egg and I would have expected as i have had in other hotels ( Hilton/Radisson etc ) for the chef to accommodate this menial request so I assumed it was down to Marriotts cost cutting or just laziness on the restaurants behalf. Needless to say I declined to eat the dried up option in the food warmer. The other thing I noticed is that there are no slippers in the rooms. Even the Holiday Inn still provides slippers. After all, they are cheaper to make than a box of matches, and still provided by all chain and most non chain brands regardless of room category. I had also forgotten to bring my plug and lead to charge my IPad and not for the first time during my trips away. I have always been able to get a plug and lead from the hotels front desk when this happens as they have them available just for this occasion, but here they didn't have any here at all. Maybe a good idea for the future? Im not sure if this hotel fits into a category for business OR leisure travellers as it seems to lack on points for both. Marriott either needs to inject a little more into the hotel facilities and avoid its stingy ways to make guest feel a little more comfortable or reduce the room charges and advertise itself as a hotel for budget minded travellers. 1: Buy a selection of chargers to keep at the front desk for guests. Its just good practice and service when required. 2: Allow guests an option of a fried or poached egg at breakfast. It really doesn't cost a lot and makes a more enjoyable breakfast experience. 3: Bring back the slippers in the rooms. Penny pinching at the guests expense really make the Marriott brand start to look like cheapskates. All said and done my stay was reasonably pleasant but for my next stay in Almeria I would be looking for somewhere else for my stay.
Standard chain hotel but in a very good location. In the old town with lots of shops, bars and restaurants to hand. 10 minute walk to ththe fortress and 25 minute walk to the beach. The staff are very helpful but the rooms are a bit pokey. The pool are is lovely but the bar is not open much. The breakfast buffet was good. Parking is under the garage and costs 16€ a night.
We stayed at the AC Hotel in Almeria and had a fantastic stay. We recommend the superior room as there is so much space. The roof top pool and bar area were a great place to chill out. The AC Hotel is centrally located to visit local areas of interest. The local restaurants were so friendly and the hotel staff were extremely helpful.
Hotel is situated in the heart of Almeria. I could walk in 30 minutes to Alcazaba castle and reached the beaches in 1 hour. Rooms are average-size, modern styled. Excellent view from roof-top pool. Surroundings are authentic and silent.
Located within walking distance of everything including the Alcazaba and museums. Very helpful staff. Rooms were a decent size, comfortable and very clean. The hotel is a little hard to find, but once there you just leave your car outside and a member of staff will park it in the underground car park. I would stay there again.
Beautiful modern super clean room. Big ultra modern bathroom. English channels on TV. Helpful reception. Free wi-fi. Nice large roof top terrace with loungers and smallish pool but no bar. Lots of superb cafes, bars and restaurants on door step. Entres Mares was an absolute delight. Hotel bar looked a little dark and drab. Located in 1 way side street so do your research and make sure Sat Nav co-ords are correct. Underground parking 16 Euros. This was my 1st stay in Almeria which worked out way above my expectations. Cycle hire recommneded as many city cycle tracks with the best being the eastbound pancake flat track along the coast with superb views and dessserted beeches.
I thought the AC Hotel in Almeria was a perfectly located property. It was neat and clean. It was close within 1km of Alcazaba, paseo, beach etc. Close to restaurants and bars and shopping. AND directly across the street from the statue of John Lennon. We enjoyed the uniqueness of the hotel.
This hotel, centrally located in Almeria, was a pure positive experience. Got a car? No worries, they have a underground garage with parking service. Want to swim? No problem, they got a nice rooftop pool with great views of the Alcazaba. Want a snack or a drink next to the pool. No worries. They got it covered. Breakfast buffet was good, and rooms as well. Can't give it a 5, though. As I rarely do. But it's a strong 4!
The ghotel was very busy as there was a wedding , we were given a large suite , generously furnished and very comfortable . We didn't have dinner due to the wedding but there is a gourmet Tapas restaurant attached to the hotel , Tony Garcias , although small the service and food is very good , freshly made. I would highly recommend this hotel .
