North Shore stay for week one of a two week trip for two Canadian couples to Kauai. It was so beautiful and serene. Amazing mountain views from lanai. Took time at Anini Beach, sight seeing day in historic Hanalei Bay, visited the Kilauea Lighthouse (as a bonus, saw whales spouting in the distance!), fresh produce from a local farmer's market and had a great game of mini golf at the incredible local Botanical Gardens. All topped off with a wonderful luau at Kalamaki Plantation. The excursions (plus pending dinner cruise along the Napoli Coast, mountain tubing excursion and an island helicopter tour) all organized by the wonderful Alii Kai office staff Hoku and Niki. Much appreciated!!! You folks rock and we will be back! Mahalo!
We stayed in an updated condo, two bedroom. Wonderful ravine & ocean view. Such a laid back resort, close to restaurants and Hanalei Bay. Great shopping & beach time. Would definitely stay there again.
The view was spectacular, the condo well furnished and clean, the grounds were immaculate, but the best was the service by Hoku, the manager, the best we've ever experienced. She took care of our week's activities, booked them, made recommendations, and no details left to chance, even telling us how many minutes to drive from the resort to the luau, to golf, to the sunset cruise, etc. Our first trip to the Islands were amazing and we highly recommend the Alii Kai Resort.
The view is spectacular from the second floor suite we are staying in, but alas we are unable to enjoy our lanai because of the guy on the third floor cutting trim on his lanai. The sounds of a circular saw from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm every day so far does not make for a relaxing holiday.
Beautiful, very tidy resort. Limited on site facilities but nearby outside resort. Swimming pool limited. Limited entertainment on site. The location on Kauai is in a Tropical Rainforest. We had heavy rain most days. Sometimes extremely heavy.
Great place! The only weak point was the lack of soundproofing in the unit. Our upstairs neighbours were a very inconsiderate and noisy family. The bed was really comfortable, but the 3 year old upstairs woke me up every morning before my alarm.
Stayed here for an important birthday in December 2016. We had a condo right on the edge of the cliff. Beautiful views from every room, and wonderful to wake up looking out at the ocean. Pool was clean, location was quiet - highly recommend for couples.
The resort is beautiful and the staff were great. The unit was spacious, clean and very well appointed .The even supplied things like coolers foil and plastic wrap shave cream and sunscreen! I knew there was no air conditioning when I booked this resort but living it is another thing. I found that it was so humid and after a day of heat and humidity the ceiling fans just weren't enough for me. Also, with the windows opened you could hear noise from other units especially in the early morning hours. It wasn't the roosters that woke me up, it was the other guests.
Room 9a is located on an end unit that has a view of two streets and a parking lot. twice woken up by garbage trucks that park about 50 ft away from the unit collecting and transferring garbage, it lasts about an hr each time. noise and smell. staff totally unresponsive to request to move. woken up by the police looking for witness to a fight that occurred in the street. the facilities and pool are just ok. do not believe them when you request an ocean view. not all rooms do have a ocean view even though I was told that they did. Do not go!
We stayed at the Ali'i Kai Resort on a timeshare exchange. The resort is lovely and maintained to a high standard. The timeshare units have recently been upgraded and tastefully furnished. Beds and pillows were comfortable with good quality linen. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make your week enjoyable. Pool area is small but it is very clean and we did not have a problem locating a lounger and an umbrella. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We ate twice at a great restaurant just up the road at the Princeville Shops called Piazza. An Italian restaurant, the food was excellent.
