Best: The staff: they became my family and really CARED for me. Mario at reception, helping so much regarding my excess shopping baggage dilemma and arranging for a shipping company. Suzanna in housekeeping, making sure I had enough Kleenex, and clean sheets and personally checking in on me before going home at the end of her shift. John in the dining room, seeing to my needs with arranging for two teapots: one for warm milk, the other for hot coffee because the coffee cups aren’t big like I’m used to!! The food: plentiful, tasty and varied; beautifully presented. Room Service: a life saver!! Yummy chicken club sandwich with hard boiled egg served with potato chips. Room: Very comfortable bed, lots of pillows. Handicapped washroom: excellent with the shower stool, hand held shower head. LEAST: pool not easily accessed for older people with mobility issues. Should have a graduated step system into the pool with handrails. Same problem for the jacuzzi. The loungers are also too low to use for people with bad knees. There are loungers available that are metal, higher up and tolerate heavier people. As our ageing public continue to travel ...these issues need to be addressed! Awesome location on the 19th floor where I took wonderful pics. Travel agents: be aware of what you are promoting for clients expecting to use highlighted amenities!! Usual hotel chain type hotel but access to metro and easy access city centre and Porto football stadium. Breakfast nice with omelette to order and clean and sufficient rooms with spacious public areas
The hotel was booked by our travel group and I was quite satisfied with the size, cleanliness, and comfort of the double room. The toiletries were of excellent quality as were the large plush towels .Since we were caught in the worst deluge of our lives and soaked to the bone, I appreciated the heating unit in the bathroom that dried my shoes, coat, slacks, sweater, etc. The a la carte menu had incredible variety and the buffet breakfast was one of the finest I've had even in 5 -star hotels. Lots of protein in dozens of forms, mountains of fruit, little baby pastries that were so yummy!!!! Service was excellent in the dining rooms and at reception. I would definitely give up hotel points and stay there again.
Checked in tonight to be to,d that the pool is closed all week. This was a main factor in booking this hotel. No warning given. No explanation and no offer of compensation on check in. Not acceptable.
Rooms were modern and comfortable, very clean. The restaurant and bar had many choices and were very accommodating to our group's needs. The highlight is the gym and pool on the 19th floor - tremendous views! Staff were friendly and helpful. Since we had a large group, they provided a room for the kids to hang out in before bed check, which was an appreciated gesture.
I was very disappointed by my stay at this hotel. I booked 3 nights there and specified that i wanted a double bed or king bed if avalable, and the shocking surprise came when I did the checkin : This hotel has only one double bed and the room is booked. I did a reservation a month before and their client service assured me that it would be available. The staff was very cold and not very helpful, which is bad because they have a great hotel and infrastructure, especially their lobby. The rooms are normal, the beds are not that comfy. The swimming pool is nice and the jacuzzi also even if its very small for the whole hotel. Breakfast was good. Definitely not worth the price i paid.
Accommodated in a 19 storey tower near the Campo 24 de Agosto Metro station. Part of a large urban renewal project begun 10 years ago, and much of it unfinished, the hotel is well worth a stay. There is a large indoor pool and sauna/spar facilities on the top floor with great views. Spacious public areas with a bar on the ground floor and a modern bright restaurant on the second floor. Spacious well equipped bedroom with great views and express lifts. Attentive, friendly staff, this is an ideal place to stay in Porto and is convenient for the Metro and taxis.
Nice welcome and a well appointed hotel. Slept well...nice breakfast with lots of choice. Part of a voyage prive deal. On 14th floor, bit scary but less road noise. A bit nervous approaching at night but concern so far unfounded
This was our second trip to Porto. We enjoyed both the city and hotel. The hotel room was spacious, quiet, had a comfortable bed, and a good shower with plenty of hot water and strong pressure. We were on a tour that only stayed one night with a scheduled event but the city has plenty to offer and this hotel puts you in the center of Porto. Breakfast bar has plenty of options. Hospitality of the Portuguese people is simply wonderful. Got a great night's rest. Wished we could have stayed longer.
hotel rooms are ok. views from my window terrible. Band of pollution across the skies. clean but dark. No outdoor space to sit or to view anything nice. Had to sit on a concrete block in an empty square with dog poop and cigarette butts on the floor. surrounding units empty and dirty. Surrounding area very busy traffic. Staff are efficient but not overly friendly. Buffet food is mediocre.
