Delightful experience would highly recommend and am very thankful we decided to book with Pestana through Trip Advisor. They went the extra mile to make certain our experience was flawless and so was the location!

We stayed here for a short business trip to a conference in Porto. Hotel is ideally located and in the time when we were not working we were able to do quite a lot of sightseeing. It is convenient for the river taxi and walking generally in the main part of the city and we also took advantage of a Tuk tour and went over the river to one of the port houses. Staff are very good very friendly and the only meal we had in the hotel breakfast which was excellent. The rooms were fab and it is hard to put anything down that would be a negative

The hotel was really good. We upgraded to a room overlooking the Douro. Really worth it. The rooms were very clean. We only ate breakfast but that was excellent. The staff were very very helpful. Absolutely excellent. Would go back.

Extremely well situated, ample room very comfortable, bed is incredible: I felt like drowning into sleep! Breakfast with high quality Portuguese products is an experience by itself. But the greater mark goes to the kindness and diligence of the young and gentle stall. A must stay. And not to forget the Wi-Fi (incredible speed and ease to connect). We are sure to come back and recommend.

On the river with a view of the bridge, at the bottom of a hill. Lovely room, nice staff, good location. It is a fully converted "old" building with some of the old details retained. Try for a room with a balcony and good view. It was quiet, adequate breakfast. Common ares felt small but very nice.

Fabulous hotel right on the waterfront of the Douro river. Had a room with a great view over the Douro valley. Rooms were excellent and the service immaculate. Friendly and professional staff, even to the fact that housekeeping visited our room to ask if all was OK. We had to leave for an early flight before breakfast and a complimentary continental breakfast was provided in our room before we left. Good buffet breakfast with the option of a small "English" choice with eggs to order, although the choice of cakes, breads, cheeses, etc. meant any decisions were hard (in a good way!). Highly recommended.

The Pestana Vintage Porto is made up of a number of adjoining buildings, some of which date back to the sixteenth century; although the levels vary a bit, this gives the hotel a lot of character, and they do all link up. Our bedroom was at the back (another time we’ll pay extra for a river view!), and our journey down to the bar and restaurant was interesting – but by no means difficult. The overall feel of the Vintage Porto was quality and attention to detail, and the staff were really helpful. The bar was good and breakfast in the restaurant, which included a wide selection of hot and cold food, left us full and satisfied. Our steaks at the hotel’s Beef and Wine speciality restaurant one evening were surprisingly disappointing, and (since we had booked b&b) we had many better meals elsewhere in the town. The Vintage Porto’s setting, part of the historic centre and on the north bank of the river Douro, could not have been better, and made bit a perfect base for sightseeing and port-tasting. There are so many port warehouses selling tours and tasting in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the opposite side of the Douro, that we asked the hotel which one we should try. They advised me and my wife to go to Taylor’s, which is a longer walk up the hill than the ones on the riverside, but the not-too-steep climb was well worth it. Not just a fascinating and well-presented tour of the facility, but the opportunity to quaff some cracking ports in the tranquillity of the garden of the classic Taylor Partners’ House. On the way we encountered and enjoyed an exhibition of photographs taken by some of Portugal’s greatest photographers between 1845 and 1975; the collection is in the historic setting of Croft’s former cellars, and the very reasonable admission fee includes a glass of port. Well worth a visit.

We had such a great time in Porto. The hotel is in the best location with wonderful staff. We loved out Plaza Room overlooking the square, river and bridge. Easy access to everything. Next time we visit we will be staying here.

This hotel is located in the heart of Porto. It is a lovely, quaint hotel on the river. Very clean. We stopped here a few days for coffee and lunch. The food was great and the staff was lovely. It has amazing views.

We stayed 7 nights at the pestana hotel vintage in porto. The Hotel is in a historical building and the rooms where in a good condition. The service was great and they were very communicative. We enjoyed our stay with you, especially because during our stay it rained a lot and stayed more in the hotel than we thought. Price quality was worth it. Thanks to everyone to make our stay personal and so warm hearted.
