Everything you’d expect from the hotel really. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and have a safe. Rooms have a great view of the city from all sides. Staff are great and very helpful, always go out their way to help. Food and drinks is reasonable, but you can find cheaper in a local restaurant 5 mins walk away, however you have a good selection here. There is a small gym on the top floor but you have to pay to use the spa/pool area. Parking is available at a cost I believe. Overall, great location, 15-20mins drive from Porto airport and 20mins walk into the city. (30-40mins walk back as it is all up hill). Would stay here again for sure.
Elegant business oriented hotel in Gaia but actually good connected to Opoeto owntown. Very comfortable hotel, nice looking reception and hall, outside smoking area, parking (garage) connected to hotel, relaxing atmosphere, reliable personnel and modern architecture. Had the luck to be upgraded to an executive room at 22nd floor...what an amazing view! The Holiday Inn standards (worldwide) fullfit the businessman needs, at least mines... My house in Grande Oporto!
This hotel is located in a quiet zone in Vila Nova de Gaia which is not the same city as Porto since they are separated by the Duoro river. On this side is where you can find the Porto wine cellars. Is not as close to the touristic zones of Porto to go walking but a short and cheap taxi ride will be enough. There are some good restaurants nearby. Hotel is clean, some rooms are HUGE with great views. Check in was smooth. Everyone is friendly. Breakfast was ok. Nice option if you are planning to stay away from the crowds.
Stayed here in July 2017 and was really impressed with the hotel. Celebrating an anniversary with my partner, i Informed the hotel and asked if they could do anything to make it more special for my partner. They did not disappoint- the staff went out of their way to give us a room with an amazing view over the City and a complimentary fruit plate. Room was clean and spacious. The staff were so welcoming and made sure everything was to our approval. The hotel was slightly out of Porto city but this wasn’t a problem, it was a short walk down to the Luis Bridge over into the city centre. The area in which the hotel is situated is quiet and we felt safe walking around in the evening. Train and Tram stops are within walking distance if you require. With our stay we received free entry into the spa area- this was clean and relaxing. Staff in the lobby cocktail bar were friendly, and we can not recommend the cocktails enough, they know their stuff! Definitely recommend this hotel, it made our stay in Porto all the better!
I’ve used this hotel on a number of occasions down route in Porto. The hotel is within walking distance to the centre of Porto. I’ve always had very friendly service from reception and the bar, which is well stocked! I’ve eaten here a handful of times and the food has been good. Room clean (apart from the windows this time) and quiet. I would take family here for a weekend away
Pleasant and helpful reception people! Fast service even if there were many guests checking out. Newly renovated rooms. Plenty of parking area nearby the hotel. If you want to park in the hotel parking there is a fee and it is expensive. I don’t suggest though to tourists because it is a bit far from the main touristic areas. Not walking distance unfortunately especially during the winter. Other restaurants available within the neighborhood. Try Meia Banana. Inexpensive and delicious which we discovered by foot.
Holiday Inn Porto Gaia is located in Gaia, and it is a very good option in Porto Area. The hotel is very good, with all the amenities needed for a good stay. Rooms are very spacious with nice views over Porto and Douro river. Staff has been very friendly. To come back.

Was here as part of the EUROBOWL 2017 event, in which over 250 competitors were in attendance. Excellent service from the reception and conference staff. Hotel has ample bar space, and lobby space for its needs. Well appointed rooms, wonderful city views and great showers with lots of hot water.
