Been there in January 2018 for a business trip and stayed for 3D2N. The 1st impression by the receptionist was helpful. Most of the time I spend in the hotel is at night. I can say the bed and sofa in the room was comfy and i had a good night sleep for me feel fresh the next morning to work.
Just checked into the hotel this afternoon. Beautiful lobby and ambience, bar looks fab. However, there was a strong smell of paint upon entering our first room. The staff acted very promptly and moved us straight away. Unfortunately the second room also had a smell of paint. Called reception to inform them and was advised the smell was 'new' as the rooms had recently been refurbished and no offer of moving or any apology. Feeling very disappointed and not having a five star experience.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Business-trip, but also social. Our experience was that the hotel was nice, rooms very clean and large, staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is super, and the location is good. We took a taxi to old town and out to dinner, but taxi is cheap - so that was no problem. Taxis always right outside. I can reccomend this hotel, both for business and tourists. the rooftop pool bar is very nice.
Nothing extraordinary here and this is not a negative. The hotel is simple...easy. Perfect for someone like me traveling for business. You’ll find the rooms comfortable and clean. Service all around is polite and efficient. Breakfast each morning provided ample selections to make everyone happy. The location “says” business but you’ll find you’re very close to the beach and the old town section of Porto where you can help yourself to a fine glass of port at a restaurant on the riverfront.
Reception staff are not prepared for a “5 Star Hotel” standards, they are rude and don’t have patience. If you expect a good customer service may have better options closest to restaurants and main tourist attractions. Just gave 3 cos the rooms are clean and beds comfortable.
I arrived in the evening by taxi the hotel was looming large in a newish residential area well out of the tourist hub. We were greeted by a curteous bell person who spoke only Portuguese. It was the same with the reception who handed keys and some broken English instructions. The room was at the 9th floor very spatious, well furnished, sober but elegant decoration, dim lighting (black lamp shades)which made it pleasant but difficult to read.the bathroom was excellent and the whole places was very clean. Very comfortable beds. There was no view of interest from the room.Breakfast was very good, wide range of dishes and fresh products.reception staff was not particularly helpful with advice on transport or other information. Transport to the centre was by public transport -bus 200,207 took 20 min to centre town
This hotel is somewhat outside of the center of Porto, but if you have a car, it's perfect. Mind that the parking spaces are not suitable for big cars. Even with our small one, we had problems parking it. But the hotel is wonderful, great beds, clean, with a super nice morning buffet. We loved it.
I stayed in this hotel for a week and really enjoyed my time there. The hotel manager took time, every day I was there, to speak with his staff and ensure that they were happy. This ‘hands-on’ approach pays off and the staff are all friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast buffet is one of the most extensive I have seen, catering for all tastes: breads (including gluten free), spreads (jams, peanut butter, honey, butter and margarine…), cereals, yoghurts, scrambled eggs and bacon, jelly, salads, fruits, and vegetables… I also dined in the hotel restaurant most nights. Not ‘fine dining’, but very good value for money. A special thanks to Laura S. who looked after me and tried hard (at my request) to teach me some Portuguese. I would have liked a more extensive ‘a la carte’ menu, but the buffet options were, like at breakfast, extensive! My room was very comfortable, with good toiletries. I had forgotten to bring toothpaste with me, and the concierge gave me a ‘kit’. Regretfully, no coffee on the in-room breakfast tray (but lots of teas) – and coffee is available at reception before the breakfast room opens. My only real complaint is that the room was not soundproof. This only became apparent on the last two days of my stay when the room next door was occupied. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but a bus stop, just next door, takes you to the centre of town in less than a half hour. Any tours you book will normally pick you up and return you to the hotel.
Modern, clean and friendly staff. We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed our time here. Staff very helpful with advice on where to eat, tourist info etc. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Great recommendation for dinner and they made all arrangements while we did a tour during the day. Any good restaurants will need reservations so don’t hesitate to ask them for assistance. Highly recommend and good value.
Clean, comfortable, modern hotel. Very spacious room on 11th floor with good view. Only a 15 minute bus ride into the historic town centre from a stop right outside the hotel. Lovely rooftop space with a pool and bar. Shame the pool isn't heated as it was too cold to use in September. Decent breakfast with a large choice but not great quality. Would definitely recommend for a couple of nights as a base to explore Porto.
