We had an expensive Samsonite hard shell suitcase irreparably damaged during our stay here. The bag was fine before it was transferred between rooms by hotel staff in our absence and positioned in our 2nd room. But the damaged side faced downward, and the damage was not visible, or noticed when the bag was hinged open and left that way for parts of 4 days. We were shocked to see the hole when we closed the suitcase to weigh it a couple of hours before our departure. The damage likely happened while falling off a hotel trolley or bumped on a corner when the trolley was used. We reported it to a supervisor, Ms. Gomes, who took a picture and said housekeeping never touches guests' luggage. We KNOW this bag was fine after our first night because it stood upright in our 1st room, which would have exposed any pre-existing damage. THEY moved the case to our 2nd room. Today, (24 April 2018) Barbara Moreira denied hotel responsibility for the damage, claiming there was no evidence the hotel was responsible or indeed this happened during our stay. Let's just say, I would love to see lobby security camera footage of our arrival.

Even though our triple room (one single + one queen size) was very spacious and clean, I wouldn't stay here again at all nor would I recommend it. Simply because the walls are not soundproof and you can hear everything all night long (and in the morning and throughout the day). The sound level is obnoxious making it far from what a 5* should be. In fact, I've stayed in 5* hotels before and this one definitely doesn't look or feel anything like one. Breakfast was very good, especially the staff: one young lady called, Marisa, if I'm not mistaken, made it all worth it with her cheerfulness. The views are beautiful indeed but if you're looking into staying closer to the city center this is also not the best location. It is a good location if you want to be closer to the coast and to a more residential area with green spaces.

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic roof top pool! In the right weather it’s stunning! Views across all the City and nice modern seating. Room was nice! We didn’t really eat or drink in the hotel as we felt it was a little overpriced. It’s a little bit of a walk to get into the main area but there are a few nice restaurants nearby if you walk along the front. We used Uber a lot which was about 4-5 euros to go into the centre. If you’re looking for a relaxing break though location is fab! The pool area was so nice but could have done with some sun beds. We lay our towel on the grass which was fine but sun beds would have added comfort.

The hotel is out of the city which is fine if you have 5 star accommodation and service. The welcome was not impressive at all the gentleman who checked us in dud not smile once, so not a nice welcome. You receive water on your 'first' night only so if you booked 3 separate stays you would receive 3 bottles of water but if you book 3 nights - tough! A small detail but an important one when you book 5 star. Finally avoid room 813 you will be opposite the lifts and will not have a good nights sleep at all. So look at 4 star closer to the city this is not worth the extra you pay

Stay away from room 311, I think the hotel's entire plumbing is tied into it, noisy, walls not sound proof, room service pizza must be frozen off a supermarket's shelf, we were supposed to stay 3 nights but only stayed 2 and they refused to refund the 3rd 'cos the reservation was made through Breakfast is good but the rest of our meals there were mediocre at best. Staff was nice though...

Breakfast is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel all around the world. The room is clean and tidy. Hotel is a bit far away from the city centre but still the connection is easy. In the other direction there is ocean, which is pretty close.

This hotel was fabulous. Clean , modern great facilities and good food. The taxis were just in the doorway to take you to wherever you needed to be. It was away from the crowds and noise but close enough to get anywhere. The rooftop pool could do with being slightly warmer and larger but great with contemporary seating areas and a bar. I would certainly recommend it

We booked here as part of a football trip. Both rooms were comfy and spacious. Breakfast selection was very good and staff were great. Customer service was ace when getting the room safe reset. Would recommend this place as a taxi is only €6 into the main Ribiera part.

Been there in January 2018 for a business trip and stayed for 3D2N. The 1st impression by the receptionist was helpful. Most of the time I spend in the hotel is at night. I can say the bed and sofa in the room was comfy and i had a good night sleep for me feel fresh the next morning to work.

Just checked into the hotel this afternoon. Beautiful lobby and ambience, bar looks fab. However, there was a strong smell of paint upon entering our first room. The staff acted very promptly and moved us straight away. Unfortunately the second room also had a smell of paint. Called reception to inform them and was advised the smell was 'new' as the rooms had recently been refurbished and no offer of moving or any apology. Feeling very disappointed and not having a five star experience.
