Lovely ground floor room almost brand new. Brilliant views over the water really nice pool area and excellent breakfast. Only downside was the huge building project underway which caused some disruption in terms of getting around and some early morning noise but didn't really distract too much from what was a good stay. Panthers RSL across the road excellent for food and drink as one issue with Sails I must say is its pricing policy.

We stayed here as a couple and really enjoyed this hotel. Rooms were well maintained and nice and the location was very nice- overlooking the water. We enjoyed the pool and staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

There is a huge building project on-going but it didn't spoil our enjoyment. Our ground floor room was perfect, virtually brand new and had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, and nice terrace to sit outside on. We didn't eat at the hotel, preferring to walk into the town, a short walk away. Staff were all friendly and keen to help.

As we were driving back to Sydney from the Gold Coast, we stayed 2 nights in this hotel. What a lovely surprise, the hotel is still under renovation but did not affect us at all. Rooms are well appointed and very clean, pool area is amazing, as well as the gardens around. Hopefully the hotel will be looked after properly and maintain the cleanliness as it is now. Cute and elegant little Buffet Breakfast, nice dinner with a range of choices. Just a suggestion, expresso coffee should be added to the breakfast.

It was a lovely quiet place to stay and I found it much nicer than the Rydges in town. We stayed in one of the suites downstairs with access to the pool from a private terrace and it was just lovely. The breakfast was a real mish-mosh - We were told the first day that breakfast would be at 6:30 -when we arrived at 6:30 we were told it was 7 -until the next day when it would change to 6:30. The first morning was a full buffet and the second morning was a continental buffet with eggs and hot food to order. In any case, the breakfast was mostly lovely and the staff very friendly. Definitely recommend this place as even though they were clearly building and renovating - it was still quiet and lovely.

I looked at the reviews prior to booking and saw a few negative reviews, but i still booked anyway. Yes the resort is still under renovation, but this did not impact on our holiday at all. We stayed in the garden view room located on ground floor. Rooms looked brand new. The pool area is fantastic. The outdoor pool is actually heated and was perfect for the little ones. Room service and restaurant food was limited, however there are many places to eat across the road or around the area. I will stay there again! The family loved it.

We only stayed one night as we were passing through, we stayed in a studio room with a double bed and two singles looking out onto the water and pool. Firstly the renovations. We were told at reception of the renovations and that we shouldn't be affected, apart from a hammering sound when we were checking in we couldn't hear a thing. I feel for those booked in rooms facing the renovations and believe they should close this part of the resort down or offer really cheap rooms. Our room was lovely. Quality beds, lovely layout, gorgeous bathroom. I couldn't fault it. We had a large balcony overlooking the pool which was great, we sent our teens to the pool alone and could sit and monitor them without feeling like we were on top of them or cramping their style! The pool was small but had a nice heated spa but there was no place for relaxing as the small amount of deck chairs were taken up. Now the breakfast! Wow, that was quality, those jam doughnuts....if I ate like that everyday I'd be the size of a house! Great selection of food, nicely cooked which was a great way to start the day. I highly recommend this resort and feel that when they have completed the renovations it will be one of the best places to stay in Port Macquarie.

Stayed at Sails for a “Post Tamworth” recovery. Yes the place is under heavy reconstruction but aside from that it’s wasn’t really intrusive to our stay. The staff upon arrival and during our stay were very friendly, the service provided was great. We ate at The Boathouse restaurant within the resort, the food was great! So tasty. The resorts breakfast buffet was equally as good too. The pool area is great & got loads of use during our stay. Only two minor things need to be addressed; 1. The lack of ventilation in the bathroom in room, ceiling fan is needed. 2. While the remodelling is occurring ensure the workers do not begin any work before 0800-0830. We would stay here again, great place!

Great place to stay in Port close to marina and settlement city shops. Rooms very clean and spacious, will stay again. A lot of construction going on but did not interfere with amenities. Would recommend staying here .

I knew it was going to have some construction work, but this is seriously invasive. A good job that it was an overnighter on the way to Sydney so it was not too much trouble. So, I paid what i now deem as well over the odds considering we were put in rooms overlooking the carnage of the front car park deeming the balcony unuseable. Rooms were OK, bar area is plastic and bright and the pool area quite pleasant with a nice outlook over the water. But, when there are a few youngsters around, the pool area is quite compact so there is no escape from the very loud noise that bounces off the over looking rooms. Anyway, pool service guy did a decent job, but I can only think that there was a teaspoon of Tequila in the Margaritas! Snack menu very average and bland. Location is pretty good though, and a short walk into the town. Shops over the road and ample Parking. Highly unlikely to ever return to Port Macq, let alone this Hotel.
