Bomb zone sails should be closed during Reno unsafe areas not closed off no carpet on the floor parking area a building site no signs for directions a disaster. Rydges you should be shot showing this to be advertised as perfect. It spoilt our holiday.

Stopped here for one night yesterday, loved the location, waters edge allowing even our Garden View room to share water views. Opposite Panthers Club, McDonalds and shops allowing a walk rather than a drive and park. We knew and were told of the renovations due for completion in December, this didn't affect us, our room was spacious with a King and two singles plus three armchairs configured around a wall mounted TV. First thing we noticed upon opening the door to our room was the fragrance, very pleasant and inviting. Balcony was excellent with a view to the water and had two comfortable chairs and a table to sit, enjoy the view with a wine or two.Just one minor issue, the bathroom fan extraction system was quite loud and we had no control over it, other than that we will revisit the hotel after renovations and check out the full range of facilities.

Would have been nice if we had been warned that the resort was undergoing major renovations - which did spoil the experience for us a bit. Having said that I'm sure it will be wonderful when completed. Our room was lovely and we weren't inconvenienced too much. We ate elsewhere as the restaurant was a temporary marquee and the kitchen a makeshift kitchen van - so I can't review the food. Great situation, and I'm sure it will be great when the reno' is complete.

Much like the other recent posts we drive straight past it. Total bedlam outside the place and huge revisions underway. Friendly staff took the edge of it until one suggested that we walk to our restaurant when we couldn't get a cab as it was only 15 minutes. Much closer to 40. Anyway the room on first glance was new and fresh if stuffed full of way too much furniture and beds. It would look so much better minus the coffee table and the two single beds. All that aside getting back to our room that night it stunk of sewer. There is just no excuse for this and was coming from the newly refurbished bathroom drain. We had to open the outside sliding door to find it was off its tracks. Bed was very comfy. Bathroom design is crazy. Missing a door where there should be one and a door that gets in the way in the bathroom proper. Just a really bad design. It shouldn't be open in this state. Rooms that have issues shouldn't be available. And the sound proofing is terrible. Parking non ecistant I'm sure that when it's finished it will be better. But for the price charged its very poor value right now

Our Nav man said we had arrived at our destination, but there was no signage, probably because of major renovations, We were lucky to find it. The other two couples both drove past, and went to another resort first. Entrance into the area, is not clear, and not obvious, with barriers around everywhere. The pathway into the resort is also not good, having to step over steep concrete garden boarders. This resort was booked, having been told it was including breakfast, only to find this was not the case. Apparently breakfasts haven't been included for a while, we were told on arrival. We had 3 rooms booked, two on the one side, & the other across the corridor. What a difference in climate we all had. Our room was REALLY warm, and it's only early September. Although we were first to arrive, we did offer to change, as our friends across the corridor, were really cold in their room. Our room on the top floor, was over the pool, and a lovely view of the river. We could not use the balcony, as there was no shade. This was a big disappointment, as I love sitting outside, but not in the sun. Now the pool is very nice, BUT the pump was running 24 hours a day, and the lights left on as well. So we couldn't have the balcony door open over night, to cool down our room it was too noisy & bright. We put our drinks & some food in the fridge, only to find it's not really a fridge, just a drinks cooler - and not at all great. On request each day, we were supplied with ice filled buckets, very nice gesture. Free WiFi - great when it worked, but not very often and not for very long. We had to use our own personal hotspot, most of the time. Food was available across the path from reception, and this included breakfast, we were told $20. However, we did have breakfast there on one of the days. It was very nice, although was I think supposed to be a la carte, prices. The area designated for fruit/yoghurt, did not have any dishes or spoons. We had to find them from another area. The hot drinks machine, wasn't working, so the young lady in attendance, kindly went elsewhere & got hot drinks for us. We were charged $21 each, then on top of the room rate, a few more dollars for using our credit card. I think over $500 for 3 nights, is a bit over the top, for this place as it is currently offering. All our rooms, were a long walk, each way, due to where the reception is currently positioned, and only steps to the upstairs rooms. I will be very interested to see how things improve when the additions have been finished, gardens are planted, & car parking hopefully increased. It has a very nice position on the river, but currently offering basic accommodation. I also hope that the rooms & in particular the bathrooms in the new section are more spacious. Having a door opening into the bathroom, is ridiculous, as is restricts the space so much. A sliding door, would be so much better.

Very disappointing. Hotel going through major renovations where clearly it should be closed or at least being notified at time of booking. No reduction in cost either. View from room over worksite with tradies starting about 6.30am!! Dinner/breakfast in a makeshift area outside. Their kitchen is in a portable shed. At breakfast there was no coffee/tea provided until some guests complained. Rydges should know better. I travel a lot and will definately think twice before selecting them again.

Sorry...but a long review here. We were looking forward to a little get-away and our first stop was Sails. We knew renovations were going on BUT we weren't expecting the site we saw when we arrived...actually, we drove right past the hotel the first time through because we couldn't actually see beyond the fencing and construction to SEE the hotel. However as we said, we were expecting some of this. Plus the actual location of the hotel in the vicinity of shops etc is perfect. Parking was available when we arrived - but this wasn't always the case. Polite smiling staff at reception - no issues there (except reception is now based in a converted room by the look of things). Still...not a great issue. The room was clean and tidy. Great view over the lawn and river. The bed - a bit too soft for our liking (but probably fine for others) so nothing to fret about there. The pillows...i thought the point of having multiple pillows was to have a range of softness/hardness etc...All the pillows we had were exactly the same...again, a bit too soft. Again, not a huge issue...just be aware. ISSUES - 7am, Saturday morning...construction began! Hammering, sawing, drilling. So much for a relaxed sleep in. It lasted about an hour before it stopped. I'm not sure if it was an oversight or whatever, but it ruined our day. Still...did i mention the view was good. 2nd night - parking was non-existent. The minimal hotel parking lot (full of construction equipment) meant parking was a premium. Again, not a deal breaker...just an annoyance. The 2nd night, the adjoining door to the next room (common enough)- not thick enough (not soundproofed). While we didn't have to deal with construction going on, we did have to deal with children in the next room calling out and yelling, which we could clearly hear. Early hours of the 2nd morning - fire alarm! Evacuation! Everyone out!! OK I know these things happen, and they are not able to be controlled etc. The night manager we spoke to informed us that it was a legitimate alarm, so out we went. Fire engines arrived, all clear given, back in we go. Annoying but these things happen. What WAS an issue was the lack of acknowledgement from the AM staff when we checked out. I was asked how our night was, i responded honestly making comment about the fire alarm...from them: nothing, no response, no offer of a reduced fee for the night...just a blank face (and i KNOW they offered partial refunds because they offered it to another customer before me). Soooo in the end...lots of little things, that individually wouldn't cause me issue. However, combined, they have deterred me from staying here until the renovations are completed. Yes, a poor stay for us for the two nights we were there...BUT BUT BUT, and please do read this....I think once the renovations are completed, Sails will be a great place to stay.

I was very comfortable in the room I was in. There are renovations going on that will make this a great hotel when finished and I did not find the work bothering. Big room with good view and efficient, quiet air con

We were upgraded to a garden room and the view didn't disappoint us. This motel is going through renovations although you wouldn't know it once you get inside. It's clean, it's quiet, and it's friendly. Even though the restaurant is 'makeshift' it is lovely! The food was perfect and we'd definitely go here again! Top marks are well earned.

I stayed at Sails resort on a business trip. Whilstvthe motel is currently under major renovations the room I started had already been made over. It was very well appointed, quiet and comfortable. The room was spacious and once inside the building works caused no dramas.
