How often do you see hotels or motels riding yesterday’s coat tails? I get it that it costs money to renovate and stay modern BUT that’s the market your in people! Our room was not too bad. Bathroom was like a shower room then a separate room to shave etc. not that well thought out when there are others trying to sleep in the room. I see this resort is undergoing further Reno’s so will be interesting how it goes when it’s done. Good location. Onsite parking is terrible! Limited and it is not secure.

Having a great location, Sales Resort Port Macquarie will be great when the re-building is complete - perhaps there should have been a discount on the tariff. Our room was really great, very spacious, modern and comfortable. The pool area was very inviting, shame weather was not great. Should be a very nice Resort when the major building work is completed later this year. The car park is still a construction site, and the dining room meals & breakfast were being served from a demountable. Perhaps they should have offered a discount on their room rates while the renovations are underway. Value for money?? Not just yet - maybe when complete. I have only rated it Average at the moment because of the building works. When completed it will be Great.

The resort currently being renovated, and the workmen start around 7am, so if you want a sleep in, could be a bit noisy. You are advised beforehand though by the staff. Couldn't fault our room, a Water View Suite, the bed was a giant King size with plush linen, and all amenities first class. Parking is pretty basic with a small open outdoor carpark, no undercover parking. Also a bit cumbersome having to lug your cases from there up the stairs.

The hotel is still undergoing renovations and the staff deserve a medal for their perseverance and politeness in the process. We spent two nights in an executive suite at the far end of the hotel and it was perfect. We fished just outside our room, watched the sunrise over Port and were greeted by pelicans and dolphins. Thanks to the staff for the friendly service. Jo

I wasn't very impressed. The restaurant was extremely expensive, you had to wait ages for each course and the very attentive waiters kept filling your glass and the alcohol like the food was over the top expensive. The meals were tiny, very artistically placed on the plate, but things like the vegetables were scarce, ie. 3 tiny slivers of carrot, 2 small beans and that was all.

I’m sure the resort will look fantastic when complete, it is currently under renovation. The room was great, well finished and very comfortable bed. Staff were nice, friendly and helpful. The pool area is not affected by the Reno’s. Good location, not in the middle of town with good access to restaurants etc and shopping centre across the road

We were warned on our booking site about the renovation but booked anyway. We reception staff were lovely and explained everything about the renovations. We were only there for 1 night on Friday and loved the room. The parking was less because of the renos and as we have a large van and car trailer made it a bit difficult but a lovely staff member put witches hats around our van so we could park. The restaurant was a bit of a problem but we just went across the road to the Panthers club so it wasn't a problem. Would recommend highly after the renovations.

The temporary reception area is two-star awful. Nice bed and the room was clean. The bathroom was way to small and poky. The shower has no screen and the water goes all over the floor. Exceedingly poor food service at present while the place is being rebuilt. Try something else.

We had originally booked this Rydges via Expedia, which had no mention of the renovations. We were not happy when we finally arrived at Port Macquarie and so asked to be moved to the other Rydges. After a bit of too-ing and fro-ing, the young woman on the reception desk managed to secure us a room for 2 nights. It was clear that she was used to dealing with customers who had not expected the renovations, and she handled our concerns with professionalism.

I have to admit, when we pulled into the parking lot, we were a little concerned! This hotel is a construction zone - there's no lobby or nice entrance, but once we got to our room, it was a different story. The hotel rooms are gorgeous! Ours faced the pool and was on the ground floor - which is absolutely perfect given we have two small children who couldn't wait to hop in that pool! The pool and spa are beautiful, right on the water, and even lit up at night. The gardens are lush and really create a 'resort' feel. There are lots of tables and chairs outside, so whether ordering room service or picking up take-away, there are lots of great spots to sit and enjoy a family meal and a drink. As for the hotel room itself, ours had a bathtub which was great for kids. And, most noteworthy of all....the beds!! Hands-down the comfiest bed & pillows I've ever experienced in a hotel. They even had extra comfy blankets to wrap up in outside while sitting out in the evening after the kids were asleep. The location of this place can't be beat! So, if you can look beyond the construction (which is easy to do), you will love this hotel! Great value!
