we had a studio room with twin beds, balcony and cooking facilities for snacks, breakfast etc. due to the constant heavy rain for our stay we did not try the pool but it looked beautiful. great location with a short walk to the main street with a huge choice of restaurants. washing and drying facilities for every room which was perfect in the bad weather the service was great too, shame about the rain!
I didn’t even stay here. I️ booked and had to cancel for a family emergency. A serious one involving cancer. They still charged me a night because that was the policy. Really? I️t’s 2.5 months ahead and they can easily make that money back. Anyway. Disgusting customer service. You should be ashamed of yourself for being inflexible.
We spent here a week of our honeymoon and the only negative note (which wasn't the resort fault) was the impossibility to cook in the room (it was too small). We enjoyed the barbecue in the pool area very much though. Kudos to the people who work there, everything was perfect.
What a lovely hotel,we were so glad that our travel agent booked us there. It is located very well can walk downtown and to 4 mile beach. There is a pool right off your patio, you can jump in from your room, staff. Very helpful, highly recommend.
My husband and I had a great stay at the Shantara Resort in Port Douglas. The location was fantastic and the apartment and service was excellent. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We will stay there again. 😀
4 Great nights here on our Australian adventure holiday. Would recommend it highly. Nice place and nice staff. Great pools. Good washing facilities if on a long trip. BBQ first night then walked into town for excellent meals.
We spent another 10 night break in Port Douglas at Shantara Resort in mid October. This is our sixth visit to Shantara since it opened approximately 10 years ago. Peter and Dinah who took over as the new Managers about 12 months ago continue the tradition of friendly staff and ensuring a clean, well maintained Resort. It is ideally located being close to 4 Mile Beach and Macrossan Street shops, cafes and restaurants. Our 3rd level 1 bedroom unit (19A) balcony caught the morning sun and overlooked the lagoon style pool and bbq area. Several nights during our stay we used the well kitted out and very clean bbq. It is a great smallish sized Resort to stay and relax. We will be back again in the future.
Hi nice and quiet but needs restaurant or pool bar staff friendly and close to Main Street .We stayed in one bedrooom with kitchen which was fine don’t know if we would stay again Peppers over the road had more appeal.
Great hotel with friendly staff. Concierge gave lots of great suggestions for activities and dining. Walking distance to beach and all downtown has to offer. Spent 3 of 14 nights of our trip here and thoroughly enjoyed getting away from restaurants and grilling poolside. Stocked up at the Sunday morning market and cooked at the resort 2 nights - also a great social outlet dining with others with a similar plan!
We stayed here for 6 Days and loved every thing about Shantara Resort. We had a pool view which was amazing but when we come again would ask for a ground floor apartment which has it own entrance to the pool. It's very well managed would like to thank Peter & Dinah for welcoming us to the resort and helping most days. The location of the Resort is a short distance from the beach and the town only a 5 min walk
