We had been to Port Douglas and Tropical Nites many times before - this time it was just a quick weekend getaway. We stayed in Unit 3 which had just been fully renovated since our last visit and was absolutely fantastic! On Sunday we had breakfast a Choo Choos which is a great little spot just down the road, then toured the market which is always a great place to spend an hour or so.

Stayed with family for over 2 weeks at this resort.....Lovely good location and super pool and area.Very helpful at reception free book exchange and lots of videos for free viewing. Nice pool design and lovely comfortable lounges and chairs.

Tropical Nites townhouses are just a couple of minutes’ drive from the centre of Port Douglas, or an easy bike ride; the beach is 5 mins or less from the door. The units are smallish but not cramped, with well-appointed kitchen, nice TV with extras, washing machine. One bedroom upstairs, the other downstairs, both with individual aircons. The units are well-constructed but there are a few aspects that are dated and/or showing signs of ware-and-tear and could do with a refresh, although everything is still functional and fit-for-purpose. Car parking is limited to a series of parks around the back; a little difficult to get in and out of if you are driving a large 4WD car/SUV. Sharon the owner/manager is fabulous and a mine of helpful information; very willing to help out in whatever way she can. Unfortunately, the Wifi is pretty awful – it cut out regularly, and is limited to 60 mins or 60 MG/day per device; it was not consistently available. This really needs to be improved. There is a small pool and a free BBQ area – but it is very slow to heat up, so if you want to use it turn it on 30 mins before-hand. Overall, a good family option in Port Douglas for the price and convenience, although there are a few things that could be rectified to improve the customer experience. Nevertheless, a good solid option.

Stayed with my husband and son for a week in October. The hostess was very warm and friendly; she was relatively new to the business but promptly responded to enquires and assistance requests when asked. Unfortunately, that's where the positives pretty well ended for us. This review is only our experience and opinion, intended to impartially provide an account of our stay. Upon check in, our apartment (5) was unclean (the host admitted that the cleaner was 'not doing what they were supposed to') and one of the split system remotes was awol. Fortunately a replacement was found. The toilet also had a very strong sewerage smell, so we closed off the bathroom and called the host to help out - which she did. We had asked for a cot and baby gate which were not in the unit upon arrival, but the host went and got them and left us to assemble them. Parking was a shot walk, because the host largely parked in the guests parking closest to this unit. The unit is very tired looking and in dire need of a freshen up; it is not a four star venue. The fridge seal is had it on the door, so none of our food kept cold and had to be thrown. The remotes for the tv all had flat batteries. The bathroom/laundry has loose tiles and damage. The bannister rail on the stairway is loose and potentially dangerous; a complaint I later read seems to still be outstanding since 2013. Only the screen door is lockable making the unit a bit unsecured. The couch is stained and dirty. The floors were dirty. The overall impression of Tropical Nites is pretty dreary; the pool is okay, the garden and surrounds are okay. We just opted for Anzac cove and the beach instead to have dinners and swim.

This hotel was in a great location, easy access to most attractions - Great Barrier Reef and daintree rainforest. The hotel it's self could do with a refurb but it's great for the price you pay. Sharon (the manager) was absolutely amazing never had service like it, she was very very helpful and she went above and beyond for us such a lovely lady always smiling and there when we wanted help or info. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Our stay at Tropical Nites started off a little rough with the first Townhouse however all was resoved due to the the property manager Sharon! She took an unpleasant situation and made it great. Any property would be lucky to have her in charge! All was handle quickly, efficiently and with a smile. The rest of our stay was perfect.

The townhouse had everything we wanted for a short stay. Although some minor maintenance was needed (light bulbs, TV and DVD controllers, leaking taps), the deluxe room was good value, and we would use it again. Only downside was that WiFi access wasn't working. Good location away from the hustle and bustle of Port, but close enough to see everything easily.

Amazing hosts Tania and Damian. The facilities were spotless and had everything we needed. The kids stayed upstairs, while hubby and I relaxed on the lower level of our apartment. We couldn't keep the kids out of the pool and it was close to everything. Some of our best family memories were had on this great family holiday.

We have been staying at Tropical Nites for a number of years now. This year we decided to try a different room, it wasn't quite as good as our previous room but still very good. Being February the place was very quiet so we basically had the place to ourselves. As usual we enjoyed our stay.

We came back to Tropical Nites for a week over NYE - again a fantastic place to relax with the family, just a short(ish) walk from the fireworks in the park on the night. As always the hospitality from Damien was fantastic, and the townhouse had everything we needed for the stay.
