What a great hotel filled with a ton of charm and old building touches. We stopped here for the weekend as it was the getaway for my birthday. As a surprise we had some friends show up and we played games had lunch and went to the hot springs just about 20 mins up the road. This little town McCammon Idaho is right before Pocatello and you will not find an equal hotel like the Harkness Hotel in Pocatello. If I were wanting a nice place to stay over on my way to or from another location plan to stop and stay.
We arrived a bit perturbed since my wife and I were ill and the hotel was not flexible on their cancellation or re-scheduling policy. I figured a small privately owned boutique hotel would be more accommodating. I am a sucker for renovated properties as well as re-purposed. The hotel had a ton of charm. I don't concur with other reviews that it was meticulously renovated. Our room had an odd pungent Oder. There is not much around the hotel besides a gas station and very small cafe. The Hot springs were about 10 miles away. There is a train that runs pretty close to the hotel. The first few times it was kind of nostalgic but the constant wake up call became irritating. Overall the stay was ok but for those arriving in McCammon- there is not really much there for tourists. We would stay again but it was really more of a $100 hotel rather than $150
This hotel only has 10 rooms but they are really Awesome. They've taken an old bank and restored it with some spectacular craftsmanship to make this worthwhile and affordable stay. Each room seems to have its own unique style, not theme, just style. My wife and I really enjoyed it. It's very close to I-15 and only 10 minutes from Lava hot springs. It was quiet and cozy
Booked hotel at last minute and was very pleasantly surprised. This remodeled bank was simply beautiful. There are only 10 rooms in the hotel and each are decorated differently. Ours was beautifully decorated and had an amazing shower. I would definitely recommend this place.
I booked two rooms in this hotel from a trip advisor rating, based on its location on our route home from a visit to Yellowstone. As we (two couples) pulled off the expressway and wound through town we began to wonder what did I do! But that fear soon changed to happiness as we walked into the lobby of this beautiful hotel. The rooms are magnificent in every way. The bed comfortable. The morning of check out we were the last to leave the hotel so we were able to tour different rooms and the Spa. An outstanding experience. If you find yourself near McCammon Idaho, book a room here. You'll be glad you did!
The hotel was very clean and quiet. A really nice get-away. The bathroom was luxurious. The Little Rock Cafe is across the street and has the best homemade bread. The French Toast was perfect. There is also a little store right across the street. The hotel is very easy to find and everyone from the front desk of the hotel to the waitresses and store clerks were very nice and friendly. I stayed two nights and the 2nd day at the cafe my waitress saw me coming from across the street and already had my coffee ready for me.
We loved this hotel. Great location near lava hot springs. Quiet and very comfortable. We stayed in a suite with a kitchenette and it was perfect for us. Very clean modern simple decor. There is a quaint cafe across the street. We had breakfast and lunch there. Near Pocatello, which has a lovely farmers market and good restaurants (Indian, Great Harvest Bakery, Greek and Italian).
Did not expect this hotel to be this nice. Considering where it is (kinda middle of nowhere), the 1 night we stayed there was great! The people were nice, the hotel has a lot of history, a convenience store across the street and a restaurant within walking distance. The bath/shower redo was 1st class. We highly recommend this one-of-a-kind hotel.
Lovely surprise in a teeny town. So spacious and comfortable, with lots of amenities and interesting architectural and decorative details. We loved it, but had to leave too soon. Cool your heals and stay a couple of nights.
We were looking for an overnight stay to break the journey from Ketchum to Salt Lake City. Initially thought of Lava Hot Springs but then came across this hotel. The hotel is in a very tastefully and imaginatively renovated old building with lovely large rooms, high ceilings. Reception and rooms are uncluttered which adds to the sense of space. After hours guests have the hotel to themselves although the receptionist is only a phone call and minutes away. Very relaxing stay as the hotel and area is relatively quiet in terms of traffic, although trains do rumble by occasionally, which I liked. Ate dinner and breakfast at the cafe/restaurant over the road which was fine. It was nice to stay somewhere that was different and obviously renovated with much effort and attention to detail. Well worth a visit.
