Upon arrival, we were informed that the private mineral pool was out of commission - the very reason we chose to stay there. There was a long, drawn-out explanation as to "the river this and the pump that, etc." all delivered with a very "I'm so tired of explaining this" expression and without a single "we're sorry." I asked when it went down and was told, "about a week or so ago." When I asked why we had not been notified, the response was "Well, we updated it on the web site." Now, I understand that things happen but no call, no text nor e-mail announcing the absence of one of the main attributes of the place is either lazy or greedy or both. Long story short, the people behind the desk and those making decisions for the care of the guests either never took or slept through their class on hospitality. The property and rooms are good enough but nothing special (aside from a wonderful, private mineral water pool that may be working - better check the web site). Location is good but everything is so close in this awesome little town that location is inconsequential (literally everything is walkable). Unless the Lava Hot Springs Inn and the Riverside Hot Springs Inn are booked, don't waste your time here.
Enjoy the small town of Lava Hot Springs with is quaint bars, cafes and Springs. It is very relaxing to soak in the public pools or the private soaking tubs. Aura Soma Lava has many option for housing, convention house, 2 bedroom house, single cabins. All have great character
Love Aura Soma Lava! I've stayed in the Motel, at a couple of the houses and at the suites out back. Everyone in my party has had a great experience every time. Very friendly staff, private hot pool. Will definitely be staying here again!
When we called to book Kaysi made sure to put us in the room we needed which accommodated six people. The room was spacious and was close to everything. Kaysi at the Front Desk was friendly, pleasant and informative. She even gave us a complimentary later check out so we could enjoy the hot springs. Will definitely be coming back.
After our tiring day of travelling we soaked in the private outdoor pool this place offered. After that we spent most of the night relaxing in our room's jacuzzi tub with glasses of wine. Wonderful place to stay.
Great room very clean. Great customer service. The gals are very nice and know how to treat their customer right. They treat each person as an individual not just another customer. Right in the middle of town. Easy walking access to all the fun.
the room was so nice and clean, kaysai the front desk clerk was amazingly helpful. had a massage and the therapist was super nice as well. we will definitely be returning to this place. the view is great, sat outside on the front deck and watched the moon come up and enjoyed watching the little town. very relaxing. great getaway.
We slept here for several nights while touring the area (for the eclipse). Friendly staff, good sized room with outdoor table and chairs ( this was a courtyard room, i think). The pool was great for private time.
We didn't actually stay here because the bedding in the rooms were not clean. We paid $145 for a double queen room. When we got to the room it was very small and dated but not too bad since you are across the street from the Hot Springs and they have their own private pool (we left before we actually saw the pool). I started to peel back the bedding on the first bed and noticed that the mattress cover was ripped and very worn out. There was a small spot of blood on the mattress cover and when I checked the sheets there were blood splatters on the bottom of one of the sheets. We told the lady at the front desk and she moved us to another room. When I checked the cover on the beds in the second room, there were pink/red spots on the mattress cover. It looked like it might have been make up but it definitely was not clean. At this point, we went to the front desk and asked for a refund because $145 is a lot to spend on a room that wasn't even clean. The front desk lady seemed very embarrassed and she was nice about the whole thing.
The bed in room #9 leaves something to be desired, but the experience of everything else is fabulous. We love that it's like a little apartment with a private hot pool experience. It's walking distance from everything in Lava and perfect after-the-bar stroll. Folks are super friendly and the place was clean. We'd absolutely come back for another little getaway to decompress!
