I concur with the positive reviews of this friendly, well run hotel. Just one piece of advice - if you phone the hotel directly they will advise you on room availability and choose the most suitable one for you. The single occupancy rate is very reasonable, even for a double room. Also a warning, Lockyer street is quite a busy little road and the windows are not double glazed, so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back, which is very quiet.
Was met by Louise Wayne the proprietor on arrival very friendly knowledgeable, was taken to clean spacious room with lovely little extra touches such as biscuits and chocolate‘s, bed comfortable .It was also a bonus to have free parking. Breakfast was great in the morning quality products really well cooked. I will definitely come back and I need recommend it
we regularly stay in Plymouth when we go to see a show at the Theater Royal or Pavillions. The Imperial is the best place we have stayed so far! The hotel has ample parking for guests, after parking the staff checked that the way was still clear for later guests arriving to park. Check in was excellent, we were shown to our room which was very large and really well decorated. We were in room 11 which had a lovely comfortable big bed, full range of coffee and tea facilities, plenty of storage. The bathroom was great, very large with a huge bath to soak in. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, cold cereals and juice to help yourself to and a good selection of hot foot to order from. The sausages were especially yum! There is a water cooler in the downstairs corridor for guests to use and also a bookshelf full of books to read. I particularly like the little stacks of books around the hotel, a really nice idea. The hotel is only a short walk from the Pavillions, Theater Royal and the town so it's a great base. All of the staff at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay, we will definitely be back.
Lovely hotel with excellent staff and location. We booked 3 rooms and all were very nice. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff and we had an wonderful weekend overall. I would absolutely book to stay again. Highly recomended.
My daughter started uni in Plymouth, on the 16th sept, the location of the imperial is excellant, the staff were all very Friday and helpful, gave us maps and advice on booking restaurants, it's one of there busiest weekends of the year, with 1,000's of students moving into accommodation, you can't pick a better bed & breakfast.
Excellent stay, Great hotel, really friendly staff and a lovely breakfast choice 2 minutes walk to the Theatre Royal and a few minutes walk to Plymouth Hoe and drakes circus . Would recommend and stay here again
Stayed for one night, 19th Sep 2017 Exceptionally well run hotel, the manager was very helpful in finding me a middle eastern restaurant in Plymouth, he even printed me a list. The room was a great size, well equipped with fast wifi. The breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order and the fresh fruit salad was 5 star. I will not hesitate in booking here again should I be returning to Plymouth. You will not be disappointed.
Stayed for one night recently. Good accommodation, bed was comfortable with good quality bedding. Plenty of hot water and a powerful enough shower. There was a huge choice for breakfast, the scrambled egg and smoked salmon was perfect. Lovely toast made with 'proper' bread. Would recommend for a stay in Plymouth.
We booked a room for a night to see the "Poppies " on the Hoe and this hotel was perfect ,it was not too far away from them .The city centre is a stroll down the road . The hotel is a friendly place to stay with a very good breakfast included ,everything is very clean and the owner is a very nice person , i would recommend here a place to stay .
I had stayed here for for two days with two other people and the stay was very nice. On first sight, it looked like the place next door. But, as you walk in the big front entrance you are greeted by a very nice host or hostess who checks you in. You are given a small tour of the facilities and then taken to your room. The rooms are kept very nice, and all the furnishings and bathroom supplies are there. There was a small TV and windows that did open. No air conditioning or fan. It was not really need as there was a coolness about the room due to the close distance to the sound. From the Imperial, it is just a few blocks walk up a graded hill to Plymouth Hoe, where you can see for miles out to the ocean. Here you can watch all the ships that are coming in and out of the port. Breakfast at the Imperial was very nice. A sufficient lust to pick front and also a fruit and juice bar. Overall, the stay was very nice. I was pleased with the staff, very personable. I would recommend The Imperial Plymouth to others and come back again.
