Just returned from Italy, and pleased to say this hotel was wonderful. Having stayed before, our room was uprated to a suite, which was spacious and very comfortable. The owner, and staff were friendly and the choice of food at breakfast, was impressive, and the evening meals were beautifully presented and delicious. I cannot recommend this hotel too highly.
Lovely hotel in excellent location to explore the region. Staff could not be more helpful. our room had steps from bathroom to bedroom which were difficult for my companion. The room was changed immediately to another which was perfect. Excellent pool
Best family hotel I have ever been to. Staff were so lovely and made you feel right at home. Well within walking distance of the square of the town which was very charming with lots of resteruant and ice cream parlours. Swimming pool was perfect as well over all very enjoyable and I hope to return one day.
My wife and I along with brother and sister in law thought this was the best hotel we had ever stayed at on our many trips to different places in Italy. The warm and friendly welcome we enjoyed at reception on arrival set the tone for the whole week. All the staff went out of their way to do everything they could for us and the service was faultless. Each morning we were greeted by Eugenio Pancioli, the proprietor himself, and he took a great interest in how our holiday was progressing. Our rooms (suites, really) were luxurious with comfortable beds, and ample sitting space with settee and armchairs, plus two bathrooms. Well appointed in every way. Our balcony overlooked the attractive pool area with a good view over the trees towards the town centre. There was ample space around the hotel to relax. We were on half board and the food at every meal was delicious. At times it was difficult to choose with so many appealing alternatives to pick from. The desserts were always memorable, culminating on the last night with the chef's speciality of a Grand Marnier soufflé. It was an unusual pleasure to be introduced to some of the excellent chefs, who added so much to the quality of our experience. In fact, all the restaurant staff were outstanding. The hotel is well situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and the railway station. Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia are among the places you can easily visit by train, and the fares are remarkably low by British standards. Overall, this was one of those holidays which will stay brightly in our memories for years to come. I have never been moved to put a review on Trip Advisor before, so you will gather that this visit really was outstanding. Phil C
Friendly staff, excellent service, couldn't do enough for you. Would recommend this hotel as a good base for travelling around the area to see Lucca, Florence, Siena and the beautiful Tuscany countryside. Very good inexpensive train service.
the room was big and convenient the stuff in the dinning room was polite and gave us nice and personal attitude the room was clean and have all the facilities a lot of restaurants and stores located 5 minuts from the hotel around the hotel there is a lot of parking places.you can buy a ticket for 24 hr in the reception's hotel.
My family had a wonderful week being looked after by excellent staff who were great fun, friendly and efficient. We were on a family trip with our father to visit some of the places he was in during WW2. It was both moving and uplifting to see how greatly the sacrifice of the Allied troops was and still is appreciated. Many thanks to everyone for making it such a memorable time.
We stayed for a week as part of a family group and had a truly wonderful time. All the staff were extremely pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The quality of the hotel is very high and we had no problems with any of the facilities. We had booked half board and all our meals were excellent with nice variety on the dinner menus and a very good wine list. The housekeeping staff are most efficient with a high standard of cleanliness. The free wifi was more than adequate throughout the hotel. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the town centre, main park with tourist attractions and the railway station. On top of all this, the owner Eugenio, a true gentleman, frequently checked to made sure we were happy and being well looked after - which we certainly were.
This was something special! My 96 year old father-in-law was taken to Montecatini by his 3 daughters and their husbands. We booked the trip through Inghams and stayed half board at the Grand Hotel Tamerici & Principe. The hotel was outstanding, certainly living up to its 4 star plus rating. The staff could not have been more helpful. They looked after us as if we were their own family. The food was excellent, local, plenty of choice, fish and meat, delicate sauces and superb flavour. The vegetables were always done to perfection. The sweets were delicious, the highlight being a grand-marnier soufflé on our last evening. The waiting staff looked after us extremely well. The facilities in the rooms were as you would expect for a hotel of this quality: we had two bathrooms, a sitting area, balcony and a very comfortable bed. We swam in the outdoor pool, sat on the terrace in the shade of the trees, and ate outside each evening. The hotel is very conveniently situated for the centre of the town. We were able to walk to wherever we wanted to go, even with a wheelchair. If this review seems a little over-effusive, I assure you it is not (nor are we related to the proprietor!).
the room on the fourth floor had two bathrooms, a good bed, and a TV that we didn't need, a perfect airco and a small fridge. what more do you need? outside a nice swimming pool. only a lack of shade.
