Take in the leafy view framed by four big windows that rise all the way up to the cathedral ceiling. Light pours in on the honey-gold wood that graces the walls and floors.

Turn on the flat-screen TV. What will you binge as you relax on the leather sofa or curl up in the extra-wide armchair? Both are delightfully adorned with a pattern of strolling bears. Need to check your email, or just want to play cards with the kids? Hop onto a high stool at the living room table made from an old-fashioned wooden barrel.

Great Stay!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Thunder Bear Cabin. Our stay was very pleasant. The cabin is situated just far away enough from the center of Pigeon Forge that you can’t hear everyday traffic (minus sirens from police and/or Fire/EMS) but close enough that it only took 5-10 minutes to get to The Island for family time. The cabin was spacious for 5 of us (2 adults, 2 teens and 1 8 year old) that we all had enough space for ourselves when needed. The hot tub was great to have after those long days on the town. The staff was helpful when needed (didn’t need them much at all). The only down fall we had was the driveway, it was very steep and if you have more than 1 vehicle it could be challenging for parking but we made do. Also the hot tub does face the road but we were up high enough nobody can really see while in the hot tub. If you have a small family and are going down, I would recommend this cabin!

New Year’s trip

Great Cabin for family getaway! Driveway intense, after the first day we parked at bottom of the property and walked up to door.

Review

The checkin process was very easy. The cabin was much smaller than the pictures made it look. The driveway was straight uphill and very difficult to navigate with two vehicles. The hot tub was in the deck that faced the road in plain view and my eight year old autistic son suffered a second degree burn when he fell and his hand touched the hit glass against the fireplace. I wasn't going to complain but I am not very happy with it at all.

Synchronous Firefly weekend

Nice cozy cabin. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. Rooms are somewhat small. The bedrooms have a good-sized bed, but not much room beside the bed. 2-1/2 bathrooms is nice, although the downstairs bathroom had a sporadic leak. The pool table is not really usable since there is only about 2 feet between it and the wall on two sides. Nice balconies with chairs and swing. Relatively quiet although very close to other cabins. Steep driveway, but not really an issue other than a little tight turning around to avoid backing all the way down. We enjoyed the cabin and there were no real problems or complaints, it just didn't "wow" us in any way. Just a standard cabin. Very close to town which was very nice.
