The ASHLEE Plaza Patong Hotel & Spa4.0 out of 5.0

Upon booking through Expedia I had very few expectations for this hotel other than what was said about it. It fully satisfied me as a 3 star hotel leaning towards the higher end of the scale The hotel is actually four separate buildings, with a breakfast room on the ground floor of one and the reception and bar in another. The wifi in my room was not particularly good but was accessible. I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The hotel itself was clean bright and airy and all the facilities in good working order, bed linen and towels changed daily and a very simple switch by the door to let the maid know when she can clean or not to disturb using a red and green light system, that is so much better than the traditional do not disturb sign hung on the door handle. I think that the hotel may be in the process of changing its smoking policy as at the time of booking I requested a smoking room as they were said to be available, and the room contents list an ashtray as part of the room contents but smoking is no longer permitted in the rooms. That is not a problem as they do not mind if you smoke on the room balcony, although a chair on the balcony would have been welcome. Location wise the hotel is in the southern part of Patong and set back from the main drag so as to only get very minor passing traffic. Average taxi/tut tut price to or from the centre/beach is about 200 baht, but is in easy walking distance for all but the laziest. there are plenty of small "supermarkets" open 24 hours, within 100 yards as well as restaurants/cafes I stayed there on a room only basis but did have breakfast one morning at a cost of 200 baht and there is a reasonable selection, but this is aimed more at Asian visitors rather than European so don't expect to find any bacon! ;)
We stayed here for 11 nights after our trip to Bangkok. The location was perfect as it's not too noisy and away from the main restaurant and market streets. However there is a large open market 2 minutes away which has a couple of bars and street food and some stalls. We stayed in block 3 which was lovely and the air con was a god send. The wifi was good, sometimes lost connection or was slow but that depended on the time and amount of people on I guess, however the router was right outside our room high up on the wall which probably made our wifi quicker. The pool is ok, we went into block 2 pool as only 1&2 have a pool, there aren't many loungers however whenever we went we always got one. The rooms were cleaned daily. The only thing I would recommend is chairs on the balcony as i like to sit on the balcony and chill at night when I'm back at the hotel and more sun loungers round the pools.
The hotel is average. Not many English speaking staff. We had no cable tv available for nearly a week. Granted we weren't there to watch TV. But we like to at least watch the world news each day. The water supply was shut off for 12 hours for "maintenance " with one days notice. I've never heard of a hotel without TV service and no water. Really wouldn't recommend staying here when there are so many other better hotels available. As others have said the pictures on Expedia are a misrepresentation of the hotel.
We booked through exspedia for 21 nights only 4 nights to go so far it wasn't to bad but we haven't had any TV for the past week everytime u go down stairs to tell them they don't understand and say it will be fixed tomorrow so everyday same thing it's shocking I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone very poor and no one can understand English
Myself and two friends stayed here for 4 nights in Block 4. Rooms were clean and modern. Bed was comfortable. Shower water pressure was great. The rooftop pool on Block 1 was fine for getting a few hours sun. Bit of a lack of sunbeds but we always got one. Location is a bit of a walk from Bangla Road. We walked it a few times and other times just got a tuk tuk or motorbike taxi. There is a big open air market 2 minutes walk from the hotel with bars and some great street food stalls. All very cheap and delicious. For the price you pay for a room (£16) you really can't go wrong. Surprised at a lot of the negative reviews - this place is good value. Would stay again.
Myself and 3 others were booked here for 14 nights. We booked through Expedia it was rated 4 star when we booked! We only lasted 3 nights and had to find new accommodation elsewhere. The rooms weren't too bad but the area was dismal and most importantly for us the POOL/s it was awful one of us ventured in once and she said it just felt unclean and as we like to laze around on quiet days and drink cocktails by the pool you couldn't do that here. There's like 3 deck chairs and no bars in sight or staff for that matter! Parts of the place looks like it was slapped together and needed a good scrubbing clean. It's just nothing like the pictures just disappointed.
This is the place near patong beach. You can walk for 5-10 mins to patong. About stay: Its quiet economic and location is good. Breakfast buffet is good. Infrastructure is good. Near local market for food.
The Ashlee plaza is a decent place, if you're not trying to spend too much money. It's about a 10-minute walk to the beach. They have a bar, but you'll rarely find patrons there because the markets right across the street own the food and drink arena around that area. The Ashlee Plaza has a workout area with a couple (literally) of machines, so you can get a quick workout in, but if you're a true gym head, it may be more prudent to simply pay for a few days at the gym down the street. I do have to say that the [included] breakfast was really good and should be taken advantage of. The beds were super stiff, but the room was clean. The staff was very friendly, and you can book all your excursions right in the lobby.
Very nice staff in this hotel. Nice rooms not the biggest but comfortable. Short walk to the beach and Bangla road. Down sides are breakfast buffet isn't that good and WiFi was slow but they do have computers down stairs which has better Internet.
I stayed at the hotel to celebrate my second wedding anniversary on May 9, 2017. The hotel is central located and is well maintained. The rooms are clean and the staff is courteous and willing to help and most importantly they know to converse in English. They have a travel desk if you wish to go to places and also arrange transport. The famous Phuket Simon Cabaret show and Jungceylon shopping and the Patong beach are a walking distance from the hotel.
