A group of four (two couples) stayed at the kata palm resort and spa in kata beach, Phuket for the first 3 nights of our trip. Staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. We had a deluxe pool view room with a king size bed. The bed was quite firm (i personally enjoy) which was a problem for some of our group. The room looked more or less as it did in the pictures. Very spacious. The bathroom had a beautiful tub to soak in as well as a separate rainfall shower. The balcony was fairly small but had a great view of the pools. Breakfast buffet was included in the price of our room and it was very good. Different dishes every day and a selections of juices of coffee and teas. Eggs were made to order which was nice as well. Close the the beach, maybe a 15 minute walk. Overall was a nice stay for the price.
We arrived at 3am to start our 25yrs wedding anniversary celebrations and were very tired after a 30hour trip we were welcomed with a refreshing iced tea and a cold flannel, the staff welcome was so warm there wasnt enough they could do to help, we stayed here for 7nights and the friendlyness of all staff members carried on throughout our stay our room was large the bed was very comfy we stayed in a room were we just walked into the pool which was amazing, with a pool bar just accross from our room. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day breakfast was amazing with a huge choice to suit all tastes we also sampled there lunch and evening menu which was also of very high standard and very tasty again staff were very helpful if you were unsure what the dish consisted of. We also booked a trip via hotel travel agent which again was a great experience we then booked a taxi to take us on a 3 1/2 hour road trip to our next destination we had an amazing driver explaining the sights en route his english was very good. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough from the moment we arrived to the checkout everyone went out of their way to make our holiday special Thank you so very much. We will be back
Stayed at this hotel in October with some family that had traveled from Australia. We were greeted with a warm welcome when we arrived, check in was quick and we were shown our room. The room was good with a pool view and on first impressions clean. The following day we met up for breakfast. Once we had found a table there was a 5-10 minute que waiting for bacon and eggs. I couldnt find any tea or coffee. The breakfast was buffet style and as we made our way through breakfast plates piled up on our 4 seater table. Although there were plenty of staff no one attempted to offer tea or coffee or to clear our table but stood in a huddle talking in the corner of the restaurant. Every breakfast for the next 5 days followed the same routine with a 10 min que, no service and dirty plates pilled on the table. Unfortunately the room cleaning service was the same standard. A dirty rim appeared in the sink which was not cleaned for 4 days and the bedding that was replaced half way through the week was replaced with a sheet with a 2 ft long rip in the sheet. Such a shame, the hotel was ok but the staff were non attentive and lazy, spending their time lazing on stairs and chatting rather than doing their job. With the standards and availability of hotels in Phuket I would not recommend this hotel or stay here again.
Husband and myself stayed at this resort recently. The facilities are ok. The pool and surrounding areas were clean and lovely. The rooms were large and comfortable. Location was good and only about 10 mins walk to the beach. There is certainly lots of room for improvements regarding service overall. Breakfast was average. Reception staff were not friendly at all on arrival nor departure. Next time I would choose another venue.
I absolutely loved this hotel. It had a complete thai theme to it which I thought was awesome. Room was clean and quite relaxing. The pool is quite cool at this hotel & the staff was very friendly & helpful. I had an amazing stay & wouldn't mind going back to this hotel in the future.
Location is not too bad. Close to the small town of Kata walking distance to hotel. Multiple daily free shuttle service to Kata Beach. Breakfast was adequate and ample choices of most breakfast foods and beverages. Cost from Kata to Patong and into Phuket could be expensive if you go back and forth. Traffic (as in most places in Asia) was hectic and slow. Hotel Restaurant for Dinner was very unsatisfactory so we did not eat there a 2nd time. Be aware that a Deposit (refundable) has to be paid on arrival. On arrival most people do not always have cash so use credit or travel card. Refund will generally take 30 days. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Travel desk was ok, although the tourse we chose were not the best.
Visited in late september and was pleasantly surprised. A quiet resort with excellent pools. Staff were great and rooms were large and clean. All areas were good but nicer places to eat and drink. Fairly close to kata beach and lots of shops and traders in the area.
We stayed in this hotel at the end of September 2017, there is some construction going on but it never bothered us. The staff at reception was very helpful as well as the room service staff. The buffet breakfast was good and had a big variety to choose from, plenty to eat. Room was a bit moldy in smell, I believe it is due to the wet climate and lack of good service to aircon units. All in all a good place to stay and will consider it again for our next visit. BUT stay far away from the tourist agent that works at the front desk, this lady is not to be used and must be avoided at all times. I ask her for her best price for a trip to PhiPhi Island, her price was almost 2000baht more expensive than the agents just outside the hotel for exactly the some service from the same company. And then to round it off , I arranged a car from her to take us to the airport as listed for 1000baht but then when we got delivered to the airport the taxi driver demands 1400baht. Unfortunately I have to mark her as a crook and would seriously advise the hotel to get rid of her from their forecourt area before she causes too much damage to their reputation. Rather try one of the agents/taxi operators from the street if you don't want to have a nasty last minute surprise on your way back home. But the hotel I couldn't fault, a nice stay.
My husband, toddler and I had a weeks stay at Kata Palm recently and I have to say that if we get brave enough to take a long-haul flight with a small child again then we'd love to return! It is good value - if you're expecting five-star amentities and service then unfortunately you need to book into a five-star hotel and pay five-star prices. I've travelled quite a bit throughout SE Asia and this is one of the more pleasant hotels I've stayed in (although I tend to stay budget to mid-range price wise). Highlights: the pool and the mini-bar prices! Plus the friendly staff. I think travelling with a toddler made us a bit of a magnet for attention and nothing was too difficult. One day we had a minor maintenance issue and tried to call housekeeping to report it. My husband wasn't completely sure if his request had been understood but by the time I got down to the lobby to check they had already deployed a staff member to fix it. We had a fourth level room which I preferred - I'd have been nervous having a little one on the pool access level. If we were travelling as a couple or with older children I'd definitely have splurged and gone for the pool access. We had a couple of nice lunches in the restaurant next to the pool. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and have no complaints regarding this. We also had some massages included in our package which were a welcome relief after the flight. I noted the prices in the spa were more expensive than those out in the street but the facilities in the spa were beautiful - you're paying for a full spa experience in cool air conditioning with a lovely smell, ample privacy etc as opposed to a chair in a hot and sweaty room overlooking the street. So if you want a luxurious spa experience then I'd definitely use the hotel spa. The pools were lovely and refreshing and one of the main reasons I'd love to come back. We walked down to the beach a couple of times and it looked lovely too but it was a little hot for us to spend too much time there during our time in Phuket. Lots of lovely restaurants only a short walk from the hotel too. Kata Beach seemed a nice area with lots of families (and a bonus for us lots of toddlers and people walking with prams!) and doesn't have the sleazy/chaotic feel of Patong. Will be back!
We stayed here for 8 nights, our toilet was never cleaned only by me. Beds hard & uncomfortable. We hard a pool access room which was fabulous the restaurant was very unpredictable with meals at dinner, did not enjoy any meals here we ate twice . Breakfast was ok Day 7 & our second last day our rooms were not touched, when I asked to have our beds made I was informed that we were checking out tomorrow so they don't touch our rooms. I would never stay here again. Wi-Fi very unpredictable dropping out often.
