The hotel is quite nice, close to the beach, very nice and caring staff members. The guest relation supervisor Dianne is very nice. WiFi is great and the location is Very professional and would recommend the place to stay.
This hotel is located right across the street from the beach. Five minute walk maybe. My experience was wonderful! The staff is great!! Dianne at the desk, Cola and Lin of the restaurant staff were wonderful! Room servicing is excellent. The room was very nice. Separate shower and bath tub. Bed was very comfortable; great air conditioning! Tang (room servicing) went above and beyond. She even helped with packing to check out. The breakfast buffet is great. Lots of choices. Fresh eggs cooked to order; plenty of Thai dishes as well. Pool is lovely; with direct access from room if you choose. Restaurant is very good. Plenty of offerings. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel. The entire staff was great; felt right at home!!!
I'm going to start this review by saying I have absolutely no idea what some of the other reviewers are on about in their reviews, as I could not disagree more. I can only guess that they're used to staying in the Waldorf Astoria or some other similar establishment and as such were unhappy with the Chanalai Hotel. We initially booked 2 nights here but upon arrival we extended our stay because we were so impressed with what we saw. We checked in late (around 9pm) and the lady that received us came to our taxi with an umbrella as it was hoying it down, then she provided us with ice cold lemon towels to freshen up and some fresh juice to drink. She checked us in and took us to our room (1205) and we were delighted with what greeted us. The first thing that hit us was the coldness...the air con in the room is amazing and a welcome relief! There is no chance of over heating in this room!! Anyway, the room was absolutely huge, so so spacious it is to be believed! It was spotlessly clean, very bright and airy, such a nice feeling! The room is sort of open plan with a glass divider between the bathroom area and the bedroom, but you do get privacy in the shower and toilet with frosted glass doors. The room is just lovely though...nice cool floor, a good t.v., a massive bed, plenty of lighting...just wonderful. The bedroom has a fridge (with a stocked mini bar), free bottled water, a tv with plenty of multi lingual channels, varying pillows to chose from (depending on how hard/soft you like them) plus excellent coffee/tea making facilities. The bathroom has a huge stone bathtub, a walk in shower, plenty of towels and a hair dryer. I also like the room extras such as the safe, flip flops and umbrella (which you'll need when it rains!) There is also a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Two sun loungers, a table and a view...what more does a balcony need? I should also note that the facilities at the hotel are great too. There's a basic gym if you fancy a work out, a book exchange place in reception and a very nice pool for cooling off in. My only gripe is that there isn't enough sunloungers compared to guests; plus the beds that were there were reserved with towels by people we didn't see all day...the management really need to sort this out. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic...such a great choice of food. There was cereal, baked goods (bread, Danish etc), fruit, yoghurt and then cooked food. The cooked food included wedges, sausages, spaghetti, french toast, bacon, rice etc. The egg station was also good, eggs cooked anyway you like right in front of you. I know some reviews have complained about the birds nearby but during our stay all the food was covered and not affected...plus it's outdoors so really what do you expect? I'd also say this hotel is ideal for people with mobility issues as everything is very open plan. There are lifts to all floors and the rooms are big enough to afford space to move. Also on a separate note, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Kata center, the night markets, Kata Beach and plenty of 7/11's in case you need anything. Oh am the Wi-Fi works brilliantly in the room too!! Would I stay at this hotel again? 1000% yes. The staff are incredibly helpful, the room is unbelievable and the facilities are just great. There is nothing I don't like about this hotel and I'd suggest you book asap!
My partner and I liked the look of this place as we didn’t want to stay somewhere full of kids! While the staff were absolutely lovely (warm, welcoming and could not have done more for us) we were underwhelmed by the hotel. Apparently it’s soon to be closed for 3months of major renovations which seems timely - little things like the pool tiling, bathrooms, drainage and plumbing are showing signs of wear. Our pool access room itself was as per the pics but we did not realise it would offer zero privacy - I’m at a loss as to why anyone would design it this way!! We were directly across from the sun loungers which gave other guests a direct view into our room all day long. Not ideal!! Our balcony was also in shade all day long (may be different at other times of the year) which was a shame as we couldn’t use it to sunbathe. The bed was incredibly hard which luckily suited us!! But if you prefer a soft mattress maybe ask if there are options prior to booking. Linen and pillows were lovely so we did sleep well. One other thing that surprised us was the fact the hotel is right in the centre of the very busy Kata strip, set back just metres from the street - we thought it would be tucked away a bit more. Not necessarily bad (it wasn’t noisy and we were close to restaurants) but not as relaxing as we hoped. I once again want to reiterate how great the staff are here - and it’s not a bad hotel - just definitely wasn’t the best choice for us.
We recently stayed here. Hotel was on good location, easy access to the beach, shops , restaurants, excursion agent and taxi service.Breakfast was also good . Staff was courteous and attentive. We had a great stay here.
Spent a brilliant 2 weeks here in February and March. I can only confirm the many positives on other reviews. An excellent management team with Ya Ya and Dianne being especially helpful. All staff are friendly and constantly smiling. It's a boutique hotel in a great location with everything on your doorstep. Breakfast is plentiful and caters for Western and Eastern tastes. The room was spacious with great aircon, wifi and a very comfortable bed. We will definitely return and can't wait to see the new renovations over the upcoming months. A massive thank you to the Management team and all staff.
This hotel does not deserve its high rating on trip advisor. We were disappointed to find the building, room dated and poorly decorated. There were moulds on bathrooms walls. Paints peeling off the bathroom ware etc. All in all its not what its as described as luxurious elegant hotel. The redeeming point for our stay was the staff service. They were warm and welcoming, speedy to attend our requests or to fix any issues that we faced. My advice is to be wary when booking this place. You will be staying in a 3 star hotel at the very best.
We had a fifth floor room(1510) beyond the limited noise from the street and large popular pool. The room was generously sized with the biggest bed ever! ( and extremely comfortable with a great selection of pillows). The hotel is less than 5 minutes easy walk to the beach and central to Kata Beach shopping and restaurants. The outstanding staff, good breakfast and location made our seven day stay a delight.
We would like to thank you for the staff hospitality. We enjoy every morning at Breakfast. We will recommend the hotel to our friends back home. And definitely will come back again. Good breakfast ambience too.
I like to go back. We very like here because no children. Breakfast many selections and very tasty. Room cleaning is good. Staff very friendly and attentive. We are surely recommend to friends highly recommended.
