The property was very quiet even though it is on a main street. However it is set a long way back so in our room there was no traffic noise. Breakfast offered a good selection of foods but some different cereal would have been nice not just the same 2 choice every day. The breakfast room was VERY HOT. There was no a/c and sometimes the fans were not on. Our room was very clean and modern with quite a large bathroom with a bath and walk in shower ie no glass door which was great. We had to remind housekeeping to clean our room twice in a 6 day stay which was not good. Also the Front Desk staff were, at times, rather abrupt in their interactions with us. I know they were busy but not always. The free shsuttle to and from the beach was very handy. It's aboiut a 10 - 12 minute walk to the start of the main beach area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

Beautiful area and the garden villa was fantastic - large, clean, very nice. The central pool area was also amazing, however is not suitable for noisy children. The menu and bar are fine - not too expensive. When I first booked this villa, I made a mistake in the booking - we contacted the hotel immediately and they refused to allow us to cancel that booking and rebook with the amendment - this is extremely poor service - shows no trust for the customer - so be very careful when booking or trying to make changes with them. Likewise when renting the scooter, I was short 250 baht for the day hire (about 10 dollars) after paying 1000 baht deposit and they refused to put it on the room tab, or allow me to pay later in the day, or to use my credit card - i had to go out and find an ATM so I could pay them cash immediately - again this is terrible customer service, particularly from the motorbike/taxi hire guy. The welcome/reception staff, although nice, did not really give us any information about the facilities, such as where the gym was etc. Customer service needs to be improved here, so people can enjoy the villas to their full potential. Also, the wifi constantly dropped out which was frustrating.

The owner of this hotel has got another new hotel namely Aurico Kata and we have upgrade the package to this hotel. For budgetary limit, Karon villa pool access is a right choice. However if you can spend a little bit more, I highly recommend Aurico Kata.

Paradise in the far east

I really enjoyed my stay every minute was a delight. The pool was so peaceful and relaxing. I arrived stressed out from life's challenges and it melted away within minutes. The hotel food was great and we really enjoyed the breakfasts.

it's a 10 minute walk down the death road to the beach which is really nice. the hotel is very dated and in need of a major overhaul. staff not happy when we told them that we were moving hotels. stay away unless you don't mind a run down hotel.

Stayed at Kata lucky villa in August. We had pool acces room. Not bad for the price , but could do with a bit of updating. Also wi fi was not very good. Breakfast was nice , not a bad selection of food.

Great Pool Access room. A 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel to the beach. Road is very busy and you need to be careful as there are no footpaths. Otherwise good value for money. Breakfast ok ,nothing outstanding.

The best of both worlds at the Kata Lucky

This was a great hotel. Recommended to us by my sister in law it was everything she had experienced 3 years before. Good location, nice staff, well maintained good for couples or families. A 10 minute walk to the beach/shuttle available too, the villa style of rooms in a well manicured garden setting left you feeling part of a small community without being on top of everyone. The rooms were spacious with their own deck and the pool was smaller but lovely, again surrounded by greenery and including a small swim up bar. The beach and it's touristy assets were just far enough away that you could visit and then retreat up the hill. There are no hotels on the beach as in Mexico so you're not missing out on direct beach access. We took our teenage son and their was plenty of room for the three of us in the villa. I would definitely go back if we ever find ourselves in this part of the world again.

We stayed in a pool access room which was nice however the staff spoke very little English and ordering basic room service was difficult. Also watch the blue towels they give you as one of ours went missing when we didn't even take it outside the hotel and we had to pay for it. Buffet breakfast was excellent.

Internet is not properly working. We got told to pay our bill the night before leaving, what we did. In the morning someone came to check our rooms, saying that two glasses were missing and we would have to pay for them. This glasses were never in the room. But we were accused that we stole them, so, with the Taxi waiting and to get to the airport we had no time to discuss and paid. So if you booked this hotel, please make a list ( together with someone from the staff ) when you enter the first time your room and write also a list , what you took from the minibar. If not they will let you pay twice and also stuff , which was never in the room. We will for sure not come back. Only positive point are the nice street food bars near by.

Quiet location

Kata Lucky Villa was a beautiful place to stay. We booked the garden view villa. Compared to the hustle and bustle on the street, this felt like a little piece of paradise hidden away, very quiet. The main pool closes at 6pm, which was a disappointment for us as we hoped to swim later in the evening when it was too dark to go to the beach. It does not open until 8am. The gym was small, hot and only open from 10am-8pm. Breakfast was boring by the fourth day. My husband loved it though, I would have preferred to book breakfast for only the first two days and then gone to other places once we were settled in. Very limited fruit options (Banana's and watermelon) with salad, fried rice and spicy chicken dishes. There was cereal, tiny overcooked bacon pieces and egg. Oh and mini, dry pancakes. The beach is less than ten minutes away but the road there is awful, no footpaths. If you are looking for a quiet retreat away from the party goers then this is the perfect place. The rooms were cleaned daily, the only thing that bothered me was the shower pressure but you would be paying more than double the price for a place like this in Australia. Lots of families with young children there seem to be having a good time. Thank you to the staff for their hospitality. It is difficult with the language barrier but they do the best they can.
