I've traveled to Scottsdale many times over the past few years and traveled this great country in many different states, but this was by far the worst hotel experience, EVER! First, the online pictures are VERY deceiving. You know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and I've uploaded mine so that you can see EXACTLY what your getting! The only reason why we stayed here was simply because a last minute trip and our usual hotel was already booked in the area, unfortunately. Walked into our room and the floors were just nasty, I mean gross. Parts were sticky. I took my shoes off and walked to the restroom and my white socks were already turning black.. Then my wife wanted to take a bath and the stopper was missing, so called front desk, they took forever so we just plugged it with a small towel in the meantime. Then we had some bottled waters/drinks from our drive to place in the the fridge.. no fridge! So we grabbed the garbage can and filled it with ice to place out drinks in the meantime. Called front desk and Steve (mgr) said he would have one for us... it literally took 4 phone calls to front desk and 2 hours to get an answer to a retrieving a small fridge, finally on the 5th call, Carlos the maintenance tech answered and said he would bring us one and he finally did. The phone had the wrong room and extension number on it (we were in 1103 and it had 1064 on it?!? , the TV didn't work so had to call maintenance tech to program it, then there was check in/check out letter stating they have breakfast but it was just "X" out on the paper along with no local shuttle, the furniture was old and looked like it was thrown out of a moving truck, on the freeway, doing 100mph, and then put back together with glue, there were so many dents and deep scratches everywhere, there was NO iron in the room but yet had the iron holder on the wall??, The front door was completely loose on the hinges as was the weather stripping so you had to really lower the thermostat because the A/C was seeping out of the room, paint was falling off from poor maintenance and prep, there was a security latch missing from the front door, then they placed a 6-way electrical outlet just left on the floor with the light plugged into it, just really shady stuff. The following day we left for brunch/lunch so that they could clean our room, guess what? They placed new towels and left everything else including not emptying the garbage can, but the worst part? they left a printed piece of paper stating "sorry but were not able to clean your room today".... not only was this unacceptable and unprofessional, but to have it completely misspelled with quite possibly the worst grammar I've ever seen, was embarrassing! This is the last time we will EVER stay in this dive hole. Front office looks decent, rooms are horrible along with everything else. LEARN FROM US FOLKS, GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!
Very happy with our decision to stay at The Scottsdale Inn. Very affordable considering its Scottsdale. It isn't perfect but I think that's what we liked best about it. We thought it was beautiful and clean and close to everything. The grounds are amazingly beautiful! Updating in process but the imperfections were no big deal. If you are looking for the above qualities in a stay, do yourself a favor and save some $$ and say here! We will for sure be back!
We came for a weekend visit and was glad to see the Inn was close to Old Town, Fashion Square Mall, The Waterfront district, etc. Walking or Golf carts can take you everywhere. Short Uber ride to Talking Stick Casino. However, the front desk staff was not friendly AT ALL! Also not very helpful-we paid for an upgraded interior room with pool view and they gave us a room with the pool shed right in front of our window-no view at all. Need to definitely get some different staff or retrain them in customer service. Room was comfortable, but AC was very noisy, hard to sleep. The place overall is in desperate need of the upcoming planned renovations. I'm interested in seeing how things will turn out next year!
I was quite satisfied. I wanted a place to sleep while in AZ for a few days to attend spring training. I didn't need lots of amenities. I chose a second floor room, poolside. Save for the talkative women next door, it was perfect (i.e. the walls are thin). No continental breakfast but an adjacent restaurant, full service. Inn is about a 5 minute walk from the central canal, nice for a morning walk, run.
The Scottsdale Inn has a great location. Within walking distance to Old Town and many restaurants. The pool area and grounds are outstanding. However, the rooms are in desperate need of renovations. The desk chair in our room had a broken back, the floor molding was pulling away from the wall and the carpeting was in need of a good shampooing. From what I read a $12 million renovation is planned and it can't come soon enough. I will be interested in seeing how the renovations turn out next year.
The beds were very small for two people (not queen size). They also forgot to make up our room one night. The bath tub was rusted by the drain. Lots of noise outside. We will look for another place in Scottsdale next time.
Loved staying here. Perfect location close to everything. Maintenance helped us with some things in our room and the front desk staff was very helpful. Only bummer was the pool was not heated. I would have given it a 5 if the pool was heated.
Basic hotel and rooms, which was all we wanted for a spring training trip, but LOVED the pool area. Many local resorts have small pools that are in the shade half the day. This is a nice open pool area with options to sit in the sun or shade. On weekends they have a pool side bar which is great. Only complaint was the pool was quite cold for March, despite temps in the low 90s. I don't think they were heating it so it wasn't used much, but definitely the best pool set up since the days of the old Valley Ho.
This is not a 5 star hotel, but I wasn't expecting one. Located just north of Downtown Scottsdale, it is the perfect location if your going to be playing golf and going to to spring training games. Scottsdale is surround by golf courses and the hotel is within minutes of many of them, The spring training stadiums are at most 30-40 minutes from the hotel. The hotel offered clean rooms, air conditioning, daily maid service, wi-fi, very friendly staff and a small pool. There is also a Mexican restaurant on site that has pretty good food and discounts on food and drinks for hotel guests. And you can't beat the low price!
This place is well located for food, drink, and Spring Training. The rooms are small but clean. The pool area is very nice. I had a problem with bed choices. I wanted a king with a roll away but since they were unable to guarantee that I would indeed have a roll away (was I suppose to tell my son, sorry, no bed for you), so instead I had to get 2 double beds. When you are used to sleeping in a king, a double just doesn't cut it and they can't put a roll away in where there are already 2 beds. Other than that the place was fine. Nothing to write home about; no frig or micro, but just fine.
