Loved staying here. Front desk employees are wonderful. I'd have given this a five star rating but for the kitchen. Menu is limited; food takes forever to arrive, and my sweet mashed and plantain was replaced (without my say so ) with baked potato because " we are out of plantain." There was no apology
We visited Belair end of May and found the resort delightful. The only thing that let it down in my opinion was the attitude of the guys in the beach hut and those in the Gingerbread cafe (other than Bradley who was always happy and polite). We especially found the guys in the beach hut miserable and very unhelpful even though we greeted them with a smile and a how are you today! The units were great and had everything in them you could need to self cater (could do with a toaster though)and the grounds were kept immaculate. The beach was also perfect and having your sunbeds for the week were a definate plus. I would recommend this resort
The resort is comfortable and centrally located. The staff went above and beyound to help us have a memorable trip. From arranging taxis, best excursions , grocery stores, restaurants , etc. They have your operators come to their orientation to tell you what they offer. Will go here again.
This property was clean, but dated and needs refurbishment. We liked the spaciousness of the 2br units and the views and beach were great. The on-site restaurant had good food....we especially liked the seafood. We had a car and toured the island, which is still depressed from hurricane Irma in 2017. Although there was construction going on, damaged ships, buildings, and infrastructure issues were rampant. Many off-site restaurants we used to visit were gone. The boardwalk area in Philipsburg has been restored to attract the cruise ships, but the rest of the island has a long way to go.
Don't let the 1970s facade deter you. The warmth with which you are greeted will capture your heart. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with full kitchen and balcony. The king master bedroom and bath is nice size. The secondary bedroom is small with only a full-size bed but separate entrance to 3/4 bathroom with shower. There are spacious built-in closets. Opening up the kitchen would create a nicer space for the eat-in dining room and living/lounge area. Kitchen adequately furnished but desperately needs more than one electrical outlet for the toaster oven, coffee maker and blender. The balcony is a nice size with table and chairs for 4 as well as plenty of room for a lounge chair. The Gingerbread Cafe is very nice for all meals of the day. They have dinner specials every evening but you can order off the menu except for the day they have the all-you-can eat BBQ which should not be missed! During this evening, they have local vendors of very good quality (soaps, jewely, face products, paintings, etc.) with music and entertainment. There is a mini market on site that will start you off with essentials. In this same area is a travel desk (shout out to Frances who will set you up with any tour you desire). Also, located on site is Starlite Car Rental which has very competively priced rentals, all of which looked to be of good quality. They also offer airport pick up and return service. You can arrange for beach chairs and umbrellas to be set up daily during your stay. This resort hotel shares Little Bay Beach with only one other resort...Divi Little Bay. You can walk between the two and take advantage of their bars and restaurants. I think the Belair is the better for your money. The entire staff (front desk, cafe and bar, housekeeping and security) of this establishment is very friendly and eager to make your stay pleasant. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the value of your vacation here.
We just returned from a 3 week visit staying at Belair Beach Hotel. It is a great place right on the ocean with an amazing staff and view. So helpful in any situation and friendly help at the front desk, restaurant, mini mart and on the beach. Security is evident and if you experience any issues their staff is available to help you out
I haven't been there for a few years but I did go there for 22 years. It has one of the nicest beaches on the island. The staff is very good and friendly. The establishment is older but well kept and has a nice location. Although traffic is quite congested on the island I highly recommend renting a car to get around and take advantage of the scenery
The Belair Beach Hotel has one of the best views on the island. The location is fantastic and the beach access is the best on the island. I would recommend the Belair to anyone planning a trip to SXM.
I have stayed numerous times and have always loved being there. The kitchen is well supplied and the large balcony is the width of the entire unit and provides great relaxation and views. The 2nd bedroom has a full size bed and is smaller than the master, but it has always worked for our group. Happy hour at the Gingerbread Cafe on site is from 3-6 pm and after just returning we often enjoyed their daily special of 6 beers for $12. We enjoyed other meals at the Gingerbread as well. The bedding/pillows were comfortable.
My husband and I stayed two weeks at the Belair Beach Hotel, located on Little Bay in St. Maarten. Our unit was beach level just steps from the ocean, all units have an ocean view. The unit had floor to ceiling windows across the entire front of our unit. The view was fabulous. These are not luxury condominiums, the unit was clean, freshly painted, and the small kitchen very utilitarian. The Gingerbread Cafe and Bar located on the resort is reasonably priced and has a daily special. It is a quiet resort which is what we were interested in finding. We ate their two nights and were very pleased. The resort offers a free shuttle into Philipsburg which was worth the trip, there is also a large market in town. The resort is located next to Divi Resort which offers night life, other restaurants, and walking distance to the ruins of Ft. Amsterdam. We snorkeled and swam in the bay everyday. We will definitely come back, to this quiet gem.
