Good beach, friendly, helpful staff and clean basic but comfortable rooms. Much of the island is still recovering from Hurricane Irma in 2017 with a lot still to be cleaned up, repaired and rebuilt but bearing in mind that misty available manpower is being utilised for that I think the Belair Beach has done a great job to be in full service already. We last came to St Maarten in 2006 and it is tragic to see the damage but I am confident that with the support of visiting tourists it will again get back to the beautiful place it used to be

This property is minutes outside of Phillipsburg. The concrete building is all ocean front all 2 bedroom facility. The decor is outdated and the second bedroom is small, but it has 2 full sized bathrooms and a great ocean front balcony. The kitchen is small-as in 2 people in the workspace is crowded and prohibits movement. The kitchen is equipped with s full sized fridge, a 2 burner cook top and a coffee pot and a toaster oven. There is NO dishwasher nor oven. There is s blender and all appliances work well enough. The pots/pans are minimal but adequate. The fridges do have ice machines. There is no hair dryer in the second bathroom. They do have an iron and ironing board and a nice tv in the living room and the main bedroom. There is no tv in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms are towards the back of the building and are not oceanfront. The sliding doors do open up to expand the family room on to the balcony. There is s table and chair in a small dining area and also on the balcony. This facility has a small mini mart that is surprisingly well stocked with the essentials-beer, rum, wine, rum... oh, and bread and milk and the likes! The restaurant on site is the Gingerbread Cafe and had great meal options! On Monday nights make sure you reserve for the BBQ that night. Price is about $23 per person USD and IS WORTH EVERY CENT! Chicken and ribs with potato salad, salad, coleslaw, corn and Caribbean rice. We had a steel pan group for music and then crab races! The waiter, Bradley was fantastic and so personable! He was always smiling and dancing. Truly a joy to be around. There is a small pool on site also. They do have some paddle boards and noodles available-assume for rent. They do provide you with beach towels and can exchange them as needed throughout the week. You can reserve your chairs for the week here-we worked with Dominic. All in all a nice place to stay.

I love Belair. Every condo/unit is 2 bdrm 2 ba. And each unit faces the ocean. This side of St. Maarten, is wonderful, you get an excellent breeze all day and night. The rooms are large, clean and accommodating. Comfortable beds and living room furniture. The Gingerbread cafe has great drinks and delicious food morning, noon and night. The staff here is first class and will answer your questions and take care of your every need. I've been coming to St. Maarten for 15 years, and Belair is by far my favorite resort.

Although the resort is not a four star, it is very comfortable and the rooms were of good size. The staff at the resort and restaurant were exceptional. The views are to die for. We arranged several excursions and had a ball. A short ride into the main dining areas. There was a wonderful beach restaurant, and several within walking distance.

Greeting was friendly and welcoming. Our needs were met. We had a good time. Even with a map we had a somewhat difficult time finding our way around the island. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful.

In terms of speed of service, the resort staff is very responsive. The only exception is that the Gingerbread Café seems a little on the slow side. Be patient, the food is worth waiting a few extra minutes. The people working at the café work very hard. It is a nice place to get out of the sun, have a drink and still enjoy the ocean view. Be sure to reserve a table for barbeque night.

My friend and I throughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. It is not in the more crowded town of Phillipsburg, which we liked, but close enough to get to for tours and shopping, if desired. We did not need a rental car. We found the staff helpful and friendly. The onsite activities desk is very good for arranging tours, cruises and taxis. We liked the onsite restaurant and recommend the all you can eat barbecue. Loved that the rooms all overlook the beautiful palm-shaded beach. Literally a stones throw away from the ocean. Much quieter and less crowded than the Divi Little Bay Resor next door, but your can use their pools and grounds, as well as waterspouts if you want, which is a plus.

Love this resort. If I could afford it, I would purchase a week there so that I was guaranteed a week there every year! The staff are all friendly and accomodating. Although some of the decor is old, everything is VERY clean. Every room has oceanfront views and the beach is to die for.

Belair is a very nice and well kept timeshare. The people who work there are the very best. We have been going there for more than 20 years! We never get tired of coming. The place is always being painted and refurbished. They did a. Very good job after the storm. Everything is almost back to not alone. We look forward to going every year!

This was my second stay at Belair and I couldn’t be more pleased to have come back to this lovely island. I’m amazed at how they did what the people of St. Maarten did considering the devastation they experienced from Irma. My friend Goody and I stayed at Belair last Oct. 2018 and did our usual hiking and exploring of our previous ventures. The French side was quite deeply affected by the hurricane and you could witness the destruction on ANY drive anywhere. Boats were wrecked all over the place and I was told this was nothing compared to even a few weeks before. A trip to Paradise Peak was eye-opening. Monkeys everywhere and ants. Not sure if the monkeys were so prevalent due to being “freed” by the hurricane or being left alone and uncontrolled because of it. Paradise Peak had quite a bit of damage and I’m sure that repairing the zip-lines will be months or years in the making. Also did a familiar hike to us at Guana Bay where few tourists go. It’s nice but sketchy here and there with some precipitous ups and downs. (Forgot to mention that I was in a cast) So at Guana Bay (not an advertised hiking spot) the goats had proliferated as well. Tons of them! But no bother. Marigot was a sad scene and I felt terrible for the folks who had clearly lost soooo much but were still “Living” (surviving...barely) in it. I felt like an intruder when driving through. All said I was amazed at the Locals’ spirit and kindness. I understand that the majority of income is due to tourism but one can only fake it so much. There is NO faux-love here. These people are real and true to their love and respect of their island and wanting to share it. I’m grateful that they want me here. It’s a beautiful place. I’ll be back for certain. Thank you St. Maarten (St.Martin)
