in a old city, the hotel is just in the right place to see all the interesting by walk, an elevator is just close to the hotel, you can easily get into upper town within few minutes, and hand back your shopping begs anytimes. Good buffet style breakfast and coffee. The only thing worries me that there is no coach parking place, the big coach was difficult to load the luggage when just parking beside the road.
Stop over for our Italian Road Trip. Everything was very good. Bed was very comfortable. Like all of our Italian Hotels although there were lots of TV channels Non were in English. Breakfast was excellent.
Room was clean and quiet. Stayed here with a tour so outings were organized. The hotel is situated near elevators which will take you up to the top and the city center. The trip up is interesting and the views from the top are very nice. Breakfast was good. Great base for touring around, highly recommend.
14 of us stayed at this hotel, which was used a base to explore nearby cities/towns for a 5-day duration. Even though Sangallo Palace Hotel is not located right in the city center of Perugia, it is conveniently located only a few minutes by walking distance away from the old city center and right next to a bus station. The rooms were clean and good sizes for normal European standards. The restaurant provided very good breakfast and hearty pasta and soup for dinner. Hotel staff, especially Umberto, were very kind, attentive and patient. Umberto always had the useful information to address our endless questions and offered the best recommendations to help our group to enjoy our first trip to Umbria regions.
Well situated near escalators, pleasant staff, clean, good breakfast. Hard beds and the fact that a normal European travel adaptor did not fit plug sockets are the only negative comments. Would use the hotel again.
Just returned from a 12 night stay at the Sangallo. Great 5th floor room (510) with balcony with view of Basilica di San Domenico, San Pietro and then down across the plains towards Asissi. The sunrise in the morning was magical as was the evening light on San Pietro. A modern spotless rooms and great buffet breakfast with big choice to suit most preferences. Very helpful staff, (especially Umberto who found all of our bus and train times.) Being 4star, the guest tend to be older and include tour groups but Though not "central Perugia", the escalator around the corner takes you up through the Rocca Paolina and with 3 or 4 minutes you are emerge Plaza Italia and the town in front of you. Great hotel to use as a base for exploring Perugia and the rest of Umbria. I would stay there again.
This could be a great location, but badly needs an updating. The room was a drab brown and the lobby looks tired. The service was nice and the breakfast was good, but not spectacular. The property was kept clean and the swimming pool and gym were highlights.
The Sangallo Palace Hotel is a beautiful property at the foot of Perugia. Not to fear - its easy to reach the heart of the city from Sangallo by a short walk to a series of four escalators that whisk you to the city center. The rooms are lovely - mine had a little deck overlooking the valley, complete with a table and chairs. Bathroom was spacious and had a combo of shower and tub. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I did dine in one evening and both the service and food were excellent.
Perhaps it is because Perugia is a smaller town, but the luxury of this hotel is far greater than the price would indicate. A private balcony was a wonderful surprise. Customer service is excellent. Parking is a little tricky but they do a pretty good job of explaining it. You park in the municipal lot which is a half block away, and they validate your ticket for a reduction from 17E to 11E. Cars are close to useless in central Perugia, so just park it unless you are leaving the city. Large bathroom, something unusual in budget Euro hotels, a good bad, large room, excellent large breakfast. All in all, it is a 10 out of 10.
Hotel is centrally located, very close to escalators up to old town. A well run hotel. Spacious rooms with nice view, large comfortable bed, friendly hotel staff. Enjoyed swimming pool. Good choice at Breakfast.
