Sangallo Palace Hotel made our time in Perugia.Welcoming helpful and friendly staff put you at ease instantly.Amazing street escalators just outside take you up into Rocco Paolini - a wondrous 16C fortress on the edge of the city centre main Boulevard. Efficient coach hub behind allows you to Catch a Coach to local towns such as Assisi for Giotto Frescoes. Large breakfast options set you for the days activity. So many museum and gallery choices at the doorstep. We enjoyed many local restaurants and caffe for aperitivo and dinners. Other resident Tour groups did not overwhelm.we had a room with a view, a balcony and a spa bath. I wish we could return tomorrow!
Top service, cleanliness, centrally-located. Umberto, Sandro, and Esther made us feel at home. This is top of the line sraff. This is my style of hotel with its timeless retro décor. Central and short walks from the main attractions. The rooms are exceedingly clean, spacious, and they use earth-friendly paper. Staff, from the front desk to the breakfast service are wonderful, helpful, and very efficient. I would not stay anywhere else in Perugia!
Stayed here twice now once for 2 days prior to going to centrete for our daughter wedding and once on the return both times Excellant stays room very clean comfortable and quite.Breakfast very good being English if I could suggest one thing it would be able to have a drink when we wake up no facilities in room you can order one but no tea/ coffee in room apart from this small thing this hotel is 5 star staff Excellant from checking in to leaving nothing is a problem .
From the moment Sandro booked us in and offered us the opportunity to check out a couple of rooms we knew we had chosen well. Our room was fine and had a little "Juliet" balcony. The strength of this hotel apart from the friendly staff, the rooms, etc. is its location. It is ideally located, central and within 350 metres you are heading up the escalators to the older part of town. We ate in the restaurant one night and it was fine but with so many eating destinations within a few hundred metres you are spoiled for choice. The breakfast offering is fine. There is a gym and a pool down below and it is directly opposite the Bus Terminal. Overall this is a very accommodating hotel in more ways than one.
Great hotel in goods position and absolutely nothing to complain about. Good rooms and facilities, outdoor terrace area for evening drinks, wonderful breakfast - would have no hesitation in recommending and would definitely stay here again
Pros: Great location (close to escalator to town), nice room (with balcony), good bed, nice staff Cons: Terrible (I mean terrible!) air conditioning. So bad, i could not sleep. And the thin pillows (3 for 2 people) did not help. I would stay here again, but not during the summer.
The hotel location was good just a few minutes walking distance from the old town Breakfast was ok The beds was very hard and uncomfortable and we did not sleep very well The staff and atmosphere could have been a little more personal.
This hotel is a few short blocks and an escalator ride away from the old town center. A good location. The hotel is clean and the rooms were spacious, but desperately in need of an update. The problem was the a/c which was virtually non-existent. Making matters worse, the hotel had no fans for guests to use. We had to buy a fan at an electronics store. Our room never reached a comfortable temperature during our 2 day stay. Breakfast was good with nice selections and plentiful. Overall, I would give this hotel 3 stars except for the horrible a/c. I would avoid this hotel in the warmer months.
Very nice hotel in great location in Perugia - right beside the escalators to the old city and next door to the bus station. Reception staff most pleasant and helpful. Decor seems dated - but maybe that's intentional in order to maintain the desired ambience. In any case the hotel is spotlessly clean! Bedrooms not huge but adequate. Our bathroom, though, was certainly on the small side - just about functional! Big disappointment and a major drawback was the hard bed. It was 'rock' hard and not conducive to any quality sleep - in the end I had to use the convertible couch!!! Breakfast very good quality with a fine range of foods on offer. Also, had a problem with the airport transfer. It didn't turn up! Maybe partially my fault as I didn't give much notice but........ Nice hotel, nice staff, great wifi, gym and lovely small swimming pool but sadly because of the hard beds I don't feel I could recommend Sangallo Palace
Loved the location of this hotel, it was very clean and the staff were helpful. The bed however was the hardest bed I have ever slept on which is not great when your only there for one night and most of your time is spent in the bed. Would be great if they invested in new mattresses and pillows.
