The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, in a beautiful historic building. The breakfast spread was the best I think I will ever see. A huge table laden with an assortment of at least 10 freshly baked breakfast cakes (what appeared to be traditional Italian), a huge bowl of fresh fruit, traditional meat-cheese-bread spread, yogurt, an assortment of coffee drinks and juices. Amazing. There is also a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel for breakfast and dinner that I wish I had tried before my last day. The location is literally 10 steps away from the main central square in Assisi. Air-conditioned, but just make sure you know how to turn the blower on before you turn in for the night.

I intended to stay at this hotel for one night. The location is excellent - a few steps from the most of the main plazas. The room, however, was very outdated and smelled very strongly of mildew. The hotel staff were not helpful, attentive, or friendly during my stay there (one staff member told me I should have expected the rooms to smell like mildew because the hotel is hundreds of years old). I left the hotel early and stayed instead at the Fontebella Hotel which was very charming, clean, had very friendly and helpful staff, and was also close to the center of Assisi.

Perfect location, front desk ladies were extremely helpful. Loved Assissi and would go back to this hotel. Good breakfast, they played 70s music in background that was funny.

Good location, great employees............

The location of this hotel is excellent, the staff is very helpful, the breakfast is fine. The elevator is very old and there was no shower curtain for the shower/tub. We had a fine view, a comfy bed and they were good about cleaning everything every day.

Helpful staff at first, then not so much in evening and next day. Wonderful breakfast buffet spread. Charming room. Assisi is so beautiful, and clean. I hope to go back. I could sit all day in the piazza in front of St. Clare basilica looking at the view.

Only problem we had was actually finding the hotel. If you are not familiar with the area it is very tricky even with a map. As with most towns in Europe parking is a big problem. When we finally found the hotel we were told that the actual parking lot is a distance away. I think one of the men at the Reception desk saw we were not sure where to go so he offered to park the car for us!!! I tried to give him a tip and he refused saying that he was happy to help us. You don't find that too often. The location of the hotel is excellent for visiting the churches of St. Francis which is a bit of a walk but not too bad and the views are breathtaking and also Saint Clare's church is just out the front door and to the left a short distance. Be sure to hit the big one at the foot of the bill Santa Maria degli angeli. We ate dinner at the hotel since most places were closed for the season and it was delightful. Breakfast which came with the room had a variety of breads, juices, fruits, cereal - nice selection. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Assisi. I also took quite a few pictures of the inside of the lobby and staircases. Very nicely decorated.

The staff was very accommodating and welcoming whenever I needed their services. There were not many people at the hotel because it was not the tourist season, but the service at breakfast, in the bar and helping me get a taxi was very good. The room was typically small, but it was attended to everyday and the bathroom was clean. It is located near the main piazza in Assisi and was convenitent to restaurants and the historic places in this medieval town. The lobby was comfortable and the staff was always ready to get me a cappacino when I wanted one. The price was right and I would stay there agin.
