A. beautiful art deco building with lovely service. I loved the firm bed. New linen floor and surfaces spotless. Yes if you need perfect curtains and walls for less than $80. Aussie a night stay elsewhere. The location is superb. Part of Hay at mall. Close to District Could should you need them. This place has solid walls so is extremely quiet. Highly recommended for after long flights. Daytime sleep no issue as they act by quietening down noisy cleaners on request.
I stayed there for 1 night with my family, and to be honest it was the worst night that I have ever had, the bed was hard I barely got any sleep, the room hare next to nothing in it, it does not look like what it does in the brochure, I will never go back there again.
We were passing the hotel and stopped here for Easter Sunday lunch as it advertised a reasonably priced meal. My wife ordered the vegetarian spaghetti and commented that it was the best spaghetti she had eaten, flavorsome and not overpowered by sauce. It was supplemented by very good service. We also ordered wine which was well priced and provided with a rarity in these times, chilled glasses. We would be happy to eat here again at any time.
I like the location of the hotel. Easy access to hay st and murray st malls- target, woolworths, meyers, david jones - perth CAT lines buses, subway restaurant, mc d, souvenior shops. All types of restaurants and cafes are within walking distance. The room is just nice for two people. Nothing fancy simple and clean. If they installed a bidet in the toilet will be much appreciated by the asian people. The services at the reception and housekeeping are very nice, fast and friendly.
The hotel looks good from outside and is in an excellent central location. However the decor of the room is a bit tired looking and smells of smoke. The safe in my room didn't work properly and the shower tap was loose. This is a shame as it could be a top class hotel in an excellent location, but it needs a refurb
Room tired, small but bed comfortable. Breakfast cheap, but not great. Haven't got our security deposit of $100 back yet despite going backwards and forwards to management. Could only prop open the filthy window with a book. If you are looking for budget stay in the seedier end of Hay St and can get it at a discount price then it could be the place for you.
musty smell in the foyer and throughout the building. this is a lovely building with some great original features art deco style but having said that it is in desperate need of refurbishment the room was sad and the cupboards are falling apart the bathroom needs scrubbing the room safe very small not big enough for an ipad. the wifi intermittent. i think their definition of cleaning is to hoover the room the curtains just about covered the window and the windows don,t look like they have been cleaned for a few years. if i hadn,t prepaid the room i wouldn,t have stayed. the hotel is in a great location just right for a base to explore Perth but i wouldn,t stay here again
First, the positives - such as they were. Hotel is central to Perth CBD, sights, restaurants, cafes etc. Front desk service was good and helpful. Showers were hot. There was a large fridge in room. Price was not expensive - but didn't really represent value for money. The hotel is rundown and needs a complete revamp. Room walls were badly marked and paintwork chipped, and the whole room needed redecorating. Shower taps were only loosely fixed to the wall. Carpets were tatty and worn, and corridor smoke doors propped open - both Health and Safety risks. Cupboard doors were loose. "Free Internet" connection was poor and unreliable - four different servers, which all took a long time to connect and dropped out after only a few minutes. Daily room tidying only provided if you requested it, and then only on weekdays. If restored, this hotel could be a real pleasure to stay in, but at present doesn't really meet the standard!
The hotel is conveniently located right near the city and at a decent price. Thats until you see the state of the rooms. All the walls were cracked and damaged and had a really bad smell between cigarette smoke and mould I wouldn't visit again id rather pay the little extra for alot more at another hotel
Stayed here for 5 nights with family and booked twin beds for my mom and aunt - I thought it would be two small beds, but it came with two huge twin beds which could actually fit for 4 people in a room :) (+) reasonable price (+) central location in cbd (+) professional staff and fast service (-) stayed in room #204, the bathroom door was very noisy when I opened/closed it - needs repairing.
