This hotel was fantastic, gorgeous room, fluffy bathrobes, lovely bathroom and really nice breakfast. We paid less than £150 for a family room and for that price it was so, so much nicer than you could ever expect. Plus, it is only 5 minutes drive from the tunnel, so perfect location for travels across the channel.
We have stayed in this hotel numerous times, mostly overnight on our way down to our property in Mayenne after finishing work late on Friday evenings. We have also had a five day stay as short break 2/3 years ago. We have always had very good service from reception and the resturant. The food was has always been very good. There is also a 'pub' which also serves food. This hotel is good for those travelling with dogs too.
Stayed one night as a stop over. Located it what felt like a quiet residential area. Plenty of parking and easy check in. Stairwell and corridor to rooms felt tired and dated, wasn't looking forward to see our rooms... Rooms were excellent and much more well kept than stairs and corridor!! I know you don't sleep in the corridor but it's all part of the experience!! Room was well decorated and furnished with good sized bathroom and comfy beds. Breakfast in the morning was ok with quick turnover. Selection of cereal, cooked food, cold meats, cheese and fruit. Overall a very pleasant experience but not wowed by it for the price.
Stayed at this hotel during Easter weekend and it is perfectly located to visit the beautiful coast line with views across the channel. Rooms were recently refurbished and are very nice. The hotel resturant was good, and perfect if you have small children as you can relax eating as there is space in the adjacent lobby for them to play. Nice to have a swimming pool in the hotel too. And for Easter Sunday the hotel organised an egg hunt in the garden.
Arrived at 11pm with two small children expecting the family suite we had booked and paid for in advance. Receptionist said our suite was not available, we could have two doubles instead. No explanation or apology. Our children are under 5, so too young for a separate room. Receptionist shrugged. We had no choice but to stay, with two children already asleep on our shoulders. So we all squeezed into one double, borrowing linen etc from the second room (no help with that from staff). In the morning after a difficult conversation Holiday Inn reluctantly agreed to partially discount the room - but the discount applied to the price of the family suite. We pointed out we hadn't had a family suite. But got nowhere. Very poor indeed. Did not receive the room we paid for. Did not get the good night of sleep or easy stopover for which we choose a Holiday Inn on the outskirts of town.
We were upgraded on arrival to an executive suite with a walk-in wardobe, king-size bed, sitting room and two TVs. Even without such unexpected luxuries this is a comfortable and convenient hotel. The bar and restaurant were good enough for us not to have to go into Calais. It is only 10 minutes to the tunnel.
Stayed a night with 3 kids. Good size family room for all of us. Modern and good standard, nice swimming pool and sauna, very good food in the pub and restaurant. 2 mins drive from Eurotunnel. Highly recommended...
We stayed here on the 17th June 2017. My partner is a member of this Hotel, we have been staying here on our way to Spain for the last 4 years. We find that the receptionists are always helpful and very polite. The downside of our visit this year was, we went to the Pub in the hotel (as we have other years) and asked for a burger well done ( they cook it so its very pink in the middle) only to be told by a boy of around 20-23 that its not possible to have a burger WELL DONE AS ITS FROZEN !!!!!!!!!!! We were very angry and walked out and went to our room. I always but frozen burgers and I cook them WELL DONE. As luck would have it we always have plenty of food for our long journey, so ate in our room. ( just nice to have a cooked meal before our journey. We reported it to the reception as we checked out, and he said how ridiculous to say that to our clients, and he would see into it. Also in the lobby near the restaurant they have a menu of the day, however, very nice if you can read french and speak it. (why not put it in English as well) very frustrating.
We were pleased with this hotel set in very spacious grounds (good for our dog) with a large comfortable rooms. Excellent bathroom, walk in shower, king size bed and good wi-fi. I appreciated that it had a UK power socket and also a couple of USB sockets . The restaurant and bar were very good and we enjoyed and excellent dinner. Will certainly stop there again. It is only 15 mins from the ferry terminal and is very close to the tunnel terminal.
On a long journey back to UK stopped off for one night prior to crossing. didn't expect much but what a surprise. Very nice clean hotel with fantastic staff. Had a super evening meal in the restaurant. Slept very well. A very nice hotel will call again.
