The Neighborhood:
Rue Tiquetonne sits at the edge of the Montorgueil district in the 2nd arrondissement, one of the most enjoyable and lively market neighbourhoods in Paris. The street itself is known for its independent fashion boutiques and small restaurants, and the surrounding area has been one of the most transformed parts of the city over the past decade, with natural wine bars, specialty coffee shops, Japanese and Vietnamese restaurants and creative studios taking their place alongside the long-established wholesale businesses and market traders. The Rue Montorgueil, one of the great market streets of Paris, is just steps away.
The Centre Pompidou and the Marais are a short walk to the east, and the Forum des Halles and the Jardin Nelson Mandela are close to the south. The covered passages of the 2nd arrondissement, including the Galerie Vivienne and the Passage des Panoramas, are a pleasant stroll away. The Métro at Étienne Marcel and Les Halles connects you quickly and easily to the rest of the city.
