Been to new hotel saint lazare rue d Amsterdam during my trip to paris, shifting from one hotel to another. Must say the experience is dreadful. The price tag of 99eur +tax = 102.50 is way too expensive for this building which calls itself a hotel. It's filthy and there is nothing new to it other than mu unpleasant surprise when i saw it. Very loud and noisy with a lot of machinery operating as early as 6.30am. Telephone doesnt work, carpet in the room smelly, bathroom with stains and broken tiles. Shower tray leaks. Never ever will go back to this place not even for free....please check your facts before staying there!
The hotel is a short taxi ride from Gare du Nord and close to several restaurants and bard, and only a short walk from central Paris. The staff are friendly, efficient, polite and speak good English (although they appreciated an attempt to check-in in French!). The courtyard rooms are basic, but clean and quiet. I would recommend this hotel for short business trips or as a base to explore Paris. I hope to use it again soon.
We stayed in this hotel for a 3 nights. The breakfast was included. The hotel has WIFI, but speed not very high. The hotel not far from subway station and railway station. So if you want travel from/to airport, you can travel by train. The room is clean. This is a good hotel.
On our first night staying here we were put on the 6th floor or as my wife called it " the attic ". The room was on 2 levels , a single bed downstairs and 2 single beds upstairs. The two beds upstairs were under a rotted sky light that had water coming in. The bathroom was so small you had to reverse into it. The smell of damp and must was terrible. The corridors were painted a dark grey colour and dimly lit. The lift to the floors barely holds 2 people with small luggage. We were given a different room the second night after much giving out by us. This room was clean but Windows could not be opened because you share a ledge with rooms on either side. No vending machines for a mineral or snack. Yes it is central but with so many people staying for a few nights from different countries they could improve the place greatly. The only thing new about this hotel in my opinionwas the sign outside
I was in several hotels in my last trip to Paris this was the first day option I was at a good price and with breakfast at the moment so i give it a chance. The location Good, is in the opera area The room Basic, clean, nothing special but nothing bad neither The breakfast Basic simple breakfast Will i come back This hotel doesn't have any special characteristic, so it wouldnt be my first option, but it would be an option if a good offer appears. Cheers
The distance from Metro is very short and allows you to travel everywhere in the city. Staff is friendly, but unfortunately, many of them doesn't know english. Breakfast is very good, enough things to choose from. Rooms from the backyard are very noisy. The trash is just below the floor and every time it was trash day, the noise woke us from sleep. Overall, is a good place to go if you want to have breakfast included and if you don't want too pay too much for accommodation.
Terrible hotel, our booking got messed up, we was promised half price for our rooms, staff lied, the rooms smell, no air conditioning, tiny bathrooms, do I really need to continue. Everything about the place is BAD!!
The Hotel was comfortable, clean, the staff were very helpful , breakfast continential plenty off would not hesitate to re book. tea & coffee making facilities in the room would have improved our stay
visited here for a big birthday for 4 days . it is so central to all local attractions you can not miss anything. the hotel is modern but basic as well. the room is adequate and has fresh linen, fresh towels every day and lots of shampoo etc.It is so central that it does have traffic outside in the early morning but after a day or so you dont ear it and to be honest so much to see you would be up early. The breakfast is a variety and plenty to get you going for the day. the only 2 minus would be no tea in the room and if you were to eat too many cakes from the beautiful french pastry shop it would be a tight squeese in the bathroom.overall a very central location and value for money for what you get
Well if all you are looking for is a bed and a shower, fine. Notice I did not say bath. The second room I was in was clean...not to be mean but the first room I was in was not clean. I realize it's an old building but come on people. And we are in france. Seriously? Not one picture on the wall? 1970's decor orange drapes. I asked for a wake-up call the day I was leaving. That was a mistake. They forgot me til my driver showed up and called me. I hadn't even gotten out of bed yet! This set off a while long chain of events leading to a horrible day of travel. I give two stars because the breakfast gas delicious, the location was good. Right on the metro. There was a different desk clerk every day. Most were very nice and helpful except one. Horrible. I had my phone out at the front desk one morning and I guess the camera went off. She accused me of being some sort of spy because I guess the flash went off and took a picture of her. She was also the one that was there in my last day ,responsible for my wakeup cll. She basically said it was my own fault and not hers. She didn't even apologize. Two stars. No frills. Pretty clean. Just don't stay in the first floor.
