My trip was spoiled by a cooling system disorder : first in my room only, then in the whole of the hotel. The cooling system was repaired; but in my room it was also out of order. Fortunately, Lai, the receptionist found me another room! I'm surprised she was alone for the hotel this night...
This Ibis is one of two in the vicinity of the Stade de France in the St Denis district of Paris; one Ibis (Ouest) is to the northwest of the Stadium and this Ibis is to the southeast, just off the busy D30 road and A86 highway. Importantly, for those arriving into Paris Charles de Gaulle, this hotel is very close to La Plaine - Stade de France station which is on the RER-B line connecting CDG with central Paris - therefore, it is in a great location for both the Stadium and to access central Paris without paying central Paris hotel rates. Although as you approach the hotel it looks somewhat worn and dated, the interior of the hotel has been recently refurbished and both the reception and rooms look good. However, these updates can't disguise the fact that the infrastructure of the hotel is still dated; as a result, the air-conditioning in the rooms is poor and the bathroom drains smell. To their credit, unable to do anything about the air-con (and it is too noisy with the window open), a fan was quickly sent to my room which was sufficient for a decent night's sleep. The adjacent restaurant (Courtepaille) served a decent continental breakfast and this was included in the Room rate for the hotel, which was unusual and a welcome addition. However, whilst the breakfast was good, I made the mistake of ignoring the restaurant's TripAdvisor review when I arrived late from CDG and just wanted a quick dinner - even though I was famished, it was just about OK....the problem is that alternative restaurants are a fair walk away (although McD is just next door, and may have been a fair alternative in hindsight!!) Overall though, as my Title alludes to, this is an OK hotel at a very reasonable rate (especially considering B'Fast was included) that is ideally located 20 mins by train from both CDG and Paris centre. Finally, the hotel manager and his staff were superb and sorted out any problems personally and very quickly.
Typical ibis hotel, well located and with easy access to transport. The room space is sufficient for 1 or 2 people. The floor of the hallway and even the room shows some blemishes (leach ?? ??), but overall the cleanliness of the space is notorious. Breakfast is enough. Despite being in the center of the "mess", it was not intrusive for a good night's sleep. The only less positive point is the lack of control of the air conditioning (central): either we turn it off or we get the option / temperature chosen by the hotel.
Not having a small refrigerator on the room turn things difficult when you have young kids with special food needs. In Brazil I always have refrigerator at Ibis´s rooms, so I was not aware of this peculiarity in Europe. Not good for 3rd person on the room if older then 8 years old, the bed is a bed-sofa.
Hotel is clean, typical IBIS, room is large enough and modern. It is located in the middle of business district, so it is very convenient if you have a meeting somewhere around, but not for walking tours. Metro station is not far.
What you see is what you get. Nothing flash, but the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The onsight restaurant is also not bad when pressed for a quick meal. It is a bit out of the way in terms of amenities, but is just perfect for going to Stade de France. Short walk from station, which will have you to the airport and city centre in 30minutes.
we were in st denis to watch the france all blacks match. the hotel is perfectly situated at 0.5km away, very close but away from the noise and mayhemm after the match. would highly recommend and would thank the staff foe helping non fluent french speakers.
Expensive for what you get. The rooms are very hot and there is no air conditioning as it is switched off centrally. The windows can be opened but the traffic noise as the hotel is on a roundabout is very loud so is prohibitive.
A 2 minute walk from the RER B train station from Charles de Gualle airport that continues on to Paris. Also 2 minutes walk to the Stade de France, making this clean, efficient hotel a good location. Has all the basics, but bring your own facial tissue and a face cloth. Very quiet. Found it to be very good.
With a 2 minute walk from the RER B from Charles de Gaulle airport, a 2 minute walk to Stade de France and the same RER B train into Paris, this location is ideal! Room was clean an efficient with all essentials provided. The bed was comfortable. Highly recommend and will stay here next time I am in Paris.
